Vans Warped Tour Cancels Date

Warped Tour has sadly had to cancel the date for The Wilmington, North Carolina.

A statement has been released by the organizers.

“To all our fans – it is never easy to do this, but due to circumstances beyond our control we have been forced to cancel the 7.04 Wilmington, NC show,” said a statement on the Warped Tour website.

“From the Vans Warped Tour team, the bands, and all of our sponsors, we are truly sorry that this had to happen. We were working with HUKA Entertainment as our partner and the officials of the city of Wilmington, NC decided to not enter into a contractual agreement with Huka Production, LLC of North Carolina to ensure that the show would play out.”

“This decision was based on a few concerns that included the venue’s ability to meet the logistical challenge of our tour, as nothing of that large of a scale has been done at the sports complex before.”

“It is unfortunate we are unable to hold the Warped Tour at Legion Stadium as we had worked for months to try and make it happen,” said Wilmington’s City Communications Manager Malissa Talbert.

“However, events held at city facilities must be hosted by groups with the ability to provide safety for concert goers as well as financial viability for ticket buyers. We hope we can host similar events here in the future.”

If you have a ticket, you can…

Lynn Gunn Writes Open Letter TO LGBTQ Community for Pride Month.

Lynn Gunn has written a letter on behalf of Pride Month to the LGBTQ Community.

To Billboard, she wrote:

I came out to my parents when I was 18 years old. I left a letter under my mother’s pillow, gave her a kiss goodbye and then embarked on my first tour ever.

I remember sitting in the back of a van headed to the abyss of the open road, fearing for my life. Ever since, my time has been swept up by life on the road performing with my band as an openly gay front woman.

At the time, I never realized how impactful something as simple as being my authentic self and true to my heart would be for thousands of others out there.”

Over the past few years it’s been the most powerful and humbling experience to watch the PVRIS fanbase become such a safe place for people of the LGBTQ community.

We have witnessed countless proposals, been a part of coming-outs, read hundreds of letters and have heard so many incredible stories.

Thank you for all the love, support and courage you have all given to me to be myself on this journey thus far, and thank you for the love, support and courage you have given yourselves and others around you.

I want nothing more than for you all to feel the utmost love and freedom in being yourselves. You are all exceptionally magic.”

Pvris’s upcoming album ‘All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell’ is set to be released August 4th with Rise Records.

Here’s the latest taste of the album in the form of ‘What’s Wrong’.
