Music Videos 26/10/18

It’s that time of the week I love. That’s right, another music video roundup. For those new to the blog and the post, this weekly post is where I search for the best videos released in the last week, and there have been some great ones released in the last week.

First up are the lads from Ice Nine Kills who have been releasing some amazing music videos as of late. Their latest release is the fourth instalment of ‘The Silver Scream film’ in Stabbing In The Dark.

Let’s go next to Rise Records latest signings Ashland. They’re a duo from St. Louis who have dropped a new EP, ‘misc’ a visual video to celebrate the occasion.

Moving to some Singer/ Songwriter music. British Pop-Punker Bronnie never stops. She’s already released two EP’s this year and now has moved onto a new video for ‘Fake It’.

The video sees footage from her history, edited with cartoonish lyrics across her Pop-Punk backdrop.

Next up are The Menzingers are getting back into the swing of things, especially with their new track called ‘The Freaks’, accompanied with a Halloween themed music video.

And next, let’s go to LA for a little bit of punk. Drug Church are in the lead up to release their new record, and to celebrate, they have a brand new video, ‘Unlicensed Hall Monitor’, which focuses on the bad faith arguing and sanctimonious behaviour that often thrives on social media faith arguing and sanctimonious behaviour that often thrives on social media.

Moving on, ahead of this bands supporting slot for Shinedown, London trio Press MECO have dropped a video for ‘Itchy Fingers’ which is about the insecurities and negative thought patterns that present themselves at certain points in life.

More Halloween style videos! Yungblud have dropped a gory video for ‘Kill Somebody’ which will see him cover himself in a lot, and I mean a lot of blood!

Now to go to the Ukraine! After a few years of touring, heavy-hitter Kinjer are now back and ready to unleash new music, and now they’re going ‘Ape’. On the track, the band have said: “We’ve been constantly on the road, grinding and working tirelessly to bring our music to new places and new ears and this track is the culmination of all the blood and sweat, the good, the bad and the sacrifices we’ve made in the last two years to get to this point. We really hope you enjoy it because this would not be possible without you- our supporters and believers. This one is for all of us!”

To Yorkshire! For our penultimate video, we have the latest signee to Stay Sick Recordings and they have the perfect celebration in the form of their video for ‘Good For Nothing’. The track is expected to feature on the band’s upcoming and yet-to-be-titled record.

And lastly on this weeks video countdown list, we have the ever fantastic, Casey with their video for ‘The Funeral’. Speaking about the video, frontman Tom Weaver has shared “We are once again incredibly please to be collaborating with our longstanding creative director and friend, Martyna Wisniewska, and take great pride and pleasure in presenting to you the cinematic new video for our latest single, The Funeral.”

Music Videos 19/10/18

Hello everybody! It’s that time of the week again, Friday. It’s every Friday I release a list of the ten best recent music videos from the Rock genre so I can give it to you, my followers and hopefully discover someone new! Kicking things off this week’s list is metal trio Spiritbox, who’ve returned with another fantastic single, ‘Electric Cross’.

Moving to someone I know you probably won’t have heard of is Yorkshire group Hands Off Gretel as they bring the S.A.S.S in their new music video where they take over a hotel room for themselves! I should mention it was directed and edited by their vocalist Lauren Tate as well!

Next up are some personal favourites of my own, Chapter And Verse. It’s a good release, following on from ‘A Devil In Blue’ and ‘Magazines’. but frontman Josh Carter has said the following on the track: ‘Ink’ is about feeling disillusioned with adulthood and the dangers that lie in obsessing over self-improvement. The song is unlike anything we’ve done before and we’ve been really embracing the evolution of what we do. Chapter And Verse have become a vessel for us to properly embrace life and for us, this song serves as a reminder that focusing only on how to be happy can actually give you the opposite outcome.”

And adding another British group to this week follow is the collective, itoldyouiwouldeatyou. They’ve just released something new in the form of ‘Young American’, the latest release from their debut record, ‘Oh Dearism’.

Fueled by Ramen artist Grandson has shared a new video for ‘6:00″, taken from his debut release, a modern tragedy vol.1. The video was released in conjunction with Campaign Zero, an Organisation dedicated to eradicating police violence in America.

Time for a return. this is in the form of slam metallers Arcania as they have reunited and released a brand new track, ‘Exterminate The Liberated’. It’s off their soon to be released EP, ‘Tyrannical Hierarchy: Vol.1.

Something new from some legends right now. We all need them and this is from the legendary group The Smashing Pumpkins. Things get a little freaky.

And we’re keeping going with some pretty good releases at the moment. The next video comes from the four-piece rock group, Dead Friends. Vocalist Austin Radford has shared:

“I think subconsciously people feel like we need our lives to be defined by something comprehensible – anything from political or religious affiliation to a job or a favourite sports team. ‘Torches’ is about clinging too closely to those life-defining elements, and the devastating realization that you’re not a complete person without them.”

And for the second to last video, something just a little more cinematic as we get toward the end of this weeks list. This can only be Underoath’s newest video for ‘ihateit’.

And this week I certainly have saved the best for last. Bullet For My Valentine recently dropped the video for ‘Not Dead Yet’ a video which was shot following Summersonic earlier this year in Japan.

And that’s it for another round of music videos this week. Be sure to check out next weeks post of the ten latest and greatest music videos of the week.

Lawsuit Filed Against Tobias Forge (Ghost) Dismissed

That’s one thing ticked off Ghost’s to do list as a resolution has been met against former frontman Tobias Forge.

The lawsuit was filed by the former band members of Forge, collectively anonymously known as Nameless Ghouls, back in April 2017 and claimed that they were suing for alleged “missing wages and allowances for several years.”

Following a six-day trial that was heard in the Linköping District Court in Linköping, Sweden, a decision was released on October 17th 2018 to dismiss the case.

While testimony from key witnesses was heard, the Court was unable to find convincing evidence.

Forge had originally claimed over 2 million kronor for his fees, though the court ruled that 1.3 million kronor as a more reasonable sum. The four ex-members have three weeks to appeal the court’s ruling.

Yuimetal Leaves Babymetal

Babymetal is now officially one member down as it has announced Yuimetal has officially left the band permanently.

Yuimetal has been absent from the band since December 2017.

Below is the full statement.

“Thank you for continually supporting BABYMETAL. We would like to inform you of BABYMETAL’s new beginning which will be effective starting this month’s BABYMETAL WORLD TOUR 2018 in JAPAN performances.

YUIMETAL had expressed her desire to return performing with the group in the following months after last December’s performance due health concerns. During her absence, both SU-METAL and MOAMETAL as well as the entire staff team had been preparing for her awaited return. However, YUIMETAL came to a decision that she will not be performing at BABYMETAL WORLD TOUR 2018 in JAPAN and that she will no longer be a part of BABYMETAL. We thank her for all of her contributions and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

This month’s BABYMETAL WORLD TOUR 2018 in JAPAN will mark the rebirth in which SU-METAL and MOAMETAL form the core of BABYMETAL.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the fans for the continued support and look forward in what’s next for BABYMETAL.”

Gallows Teasing New Music

This is a band I haven’t heard of in a while, that is the British hardcore punk group Gallows. The reason being for that? They’ve been taking time off focusing on other projects.

But now, the band looks to be resurrected in the form of new music.

The band have shared this short clip on their social media pages. It also shows the Christian symbol of the Cross of Lorraine in the background. The symbol was the name of a track off their 2012 self-titled record.

More on this as it develops.
