Could a gender-swapped version of American Idiot be on the way?
Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day has suggested a new take could be on its way after the Green Day frontman went to see a recent production in California.
Billie Joe took to Instagram to post his congratulations and to present the new idea for the show.
He wrote “On a side note, I was wondering what it would be like if someone did a production where the men and women switched roles. Jonny be played by a woman? Whatsername be Whatshisface? I like it.”
