Cultdreams have something brand new for people. On 13th February, the band will release a stripped back EP titled as ‘The Piano Sessions’.
On the release, Lucinda Livingstone has said:
“It’s been on my mind for the last year or so, but wasn’t something I’d managed to do,”
“I’ve played the piano since I was 4, but haven’t lived anywhere with one so I never get to play. Our producer Bob Cooper moved into a new studio with a grand piano, and as soon as I saw the news I had to go in and do a few Cultdreams songs.
“Originally we were going to do this as a live session, but then I came back from a tour with Nervus stupidly unwell and showed up to the session with no voice, so The Piano Sessions ended up being split between London and Leeds. I recorded the piano with Bob, and went down to London a week later, still sick, with barely any singing voice, and recorded the vocals with my good friend Simon Small (Apologies I Have None).
“We wanted to keep these sessions as raw and minimal as possible, just me and a piano. These three songs lyrically all tie into each other, and we felt like it would be a different way for people to hear the stories within the songs.”

Everyone got just what they wanted. Paramore have been very quiet for a while now, but that doesn’t mean Hayley Williams has been.
The world has now been graced with her first solo material in the form of her debut single, ‘Simmer’.
This track was co-written with her Paramore bandmate Taylor York and touring bassist Joey Howard, which premiered January 22nd with the accompanying music video.
Check out ‘Simmer’ below.
On the track, Williams has said:
Williams said “I’m so ready and so incredibly humbled to get to share this project. Making it was a scary, empowering experience. Some of my proudest moments as a lyricist happened while writing PETALS FOR ARMOR. And I was able to get my hands a little dirtier than usual when it came to instrumentation. I’m in a band with my favorite musicians so I never really feel the need to step into a role as a player when it comes to Paramore records. This project, however, benefited from a little bit of musical naïveté and rawness and so I experimented quite a bit more.”
“I made this with some of the closest people to me. Their respective talents really shine bright throughout the record. I like to think we all make each other better and the result is something that sounds and FEELS exactly as I’d hoped it would. Now that it’s time to put it all out there, I can finally exhale. I’m excited to let people in to experience a different side of myself that I’ve only very recently become familiar with.”
At the time of writing, there’s no evidence to say this would be either a solo single or part of something larger, but if I was to guess, hopefully following in the footsteps of SAINTE (We Are The In Crowd’s Tay Jardine), more will be on the horizon soon.
In a shocking turn of events, Waterparks have even more music for us! This comes in the form of a demo record courtesy of a fan campaign via the account DANNY FANDOM, which is Awsten Knights profile.

Parkway Drive have announced some details of the soundtrack for their upcoming Documentary called Viva The Underdogs, which also features three studio re-recordings of their tracks, but here’s the twist; they’ve been re-recorded in German!
They’ve released the first, ‘The Void’ which does translate to ‘Die Leer’.
The soundtrack on the Doc features 11 live recordings from Parkway’s headlining set at Wacken Festival in Germany last year, which will come with the fikkiwubg re-recorded German versions of: ‘Vice Grip’ (‘Würgegriff’) and ‘The Void’ (‘Die Leer’), and ‘Ire’ track ‘Shadow Boxing’ (‘Schattenboxen’).
On their German iterations of the tracks, ‘Winston McCall’ has shared:
“This was hands down one of the most unique projects we’ve undertaken. The idea of taking our songs and interpreting them through another language was a massive challenge, but considering the amount of time, love and support that has been shown to us over the years we wanted to commit to doing the project with full integrity. The result is every effort being made to translate the meaning, spirit, and conviction of these songs in a language that is not our own.”
He continued, “We hope the result helps to strengthen the connection this music creates. We offer you these songs out of respect and our heartfelt thanks for all the times you have sung them with us in their original forms. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed the process of creating them.”
Check out the German version of ‘The Void’ below.
