Riley Gale (Power Trip) Has Passed Away

The Power Trip frontman Riley Gale has passed away.

A full statement from the band can be read below.

“Dear Power Trip fans worldwide,

It is with the greatest of sadness we must announce that our lead singer and brother Riley Gale passed away last night.

Riley was a friend, a brother, a son. Riley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend. He touched so many lives through his lyrics and through his huge heart. He treated everyone he met as a friend and he always took care of his friends. We will celebrate Riley’s life and never forget the great works of music, charity and love that he left behind. You, the fans, meant so much to him, please know how special you are. If you have a memory of Riley please share it, no matter how small, as we remember him.

Please respect our wishes for privacy during this time. In lieu of flowers please send donation to Dallas Hope Charities.

Signed,
– Riley’s Loving Family

P.S. Funeral and visitation arrangements are pending.”

Tributes have been made by fans, creatives and fans of Gale’s.

The last time I saw Riley was in Brooklyn last November. Touche was on tour and was playing a one off thing so we were in town early, and like any other day I took a walk to find a record store to kill time. I turned the corner and right in front of me was Riley ending a phone call in front of a venue called Elsewhere. Power Trip was on tour with High on Fire and playing a half mile away from our show. If I had to make a list of “best feelings on tour”, these serendipitous moments would be in the top 2. Seeing friends from far away in unexpected places. From 20 feet away we locked eyes and gave the “fuck are YOU doing here!?” look before excitedly embracing. We caught up for a while and I realized our thing was gonna end early so I could make it in time for his set. This footage was from that night. Riley will go down as one of the most lovable and engaging metal vocalists in the history of the genre. Great speeches, amazing energy, and someone you could tell was as sincere as they come. It just so happens that we’d been talking kind of a lot recently. About new albums and music in general. Just last week we were reminiscing about hot rod circuit, ozma, and piebald of all things. I don’t really know how to wrap this up, tbh i just keep adding more and editing it cuz the idea of posting it makes things feel permanent. So instead of talking about him in past tense, I wanna talk about something that power trip was able to do. Metal heads can sniff out a hardcore kid in a second. Over the years and years countless hardcore kids have started metal bands, got signed to metal labels, toured with metal bands, etc… and it never worked. They only ever appealed to their hardcore kid base. The metal community has a nose for it. Power Trip was the first band I’ve ever seen born from the HC community to completely win over a metal audience. I saw them support Cannibal Corpse at the observatory in OC. I remember Riley asking the audience who knew their band and the response was small. By the end of that set the entire place, and I mean ENTIRE place was banging their head. I felt proud watching it happen. I loved Riley a lot. He was a friend to all. 🌻#riprileygale

Pierce The Veil Confirm Mike Fuentes Left The Band In 2017

The post-hardcore foursome Pierce The Veil have settled the confusion which surrounds their band at the moment. The now threesome band confirmed that ex-drummer Mike Fuentes left the band back in 2017.

Back in November 2017, Mike was the subject to allegations of sexual misconduct, which resulted in Fuentes stepping down from his duties but it was unclear if his departure was temporary or permanent.

This confusion only rose more when the band uploaded a home performance of the track, ‘Hold On Till May’ via Youtube where Mike appeared on drums.

Now though, Vic Fuentes responded to a fan on Instagram asking about the drummer’s status in the band, confirming that he is no longer a part of Pierce The Veil.

Vic also confirmed that the band are working on their fifth record, which will be a follow-up to their 2016 effort, ‘Misadventures’.

Hands Like Houses Announce Details Of Their Upcoming Self-Titled EP

There’s more Hands Like Houses incoming this year!

After the release of their single, ‘Space’ back in June, the band have announced the details of their upcoming self-titled EP. It’s set to be released on October 23rd via UNFD.

Check out the Cover Art, Tracklisting, Streaming of ‘The Water’ and Pre-order options below.

01. The Water
02. Space
03. Dangerous
04. Stranger
05. Wired

On the release of ‘The Water’, Trenton Woodley (Vocals) says:

“I picture the protagonist as some beautiful, fantastical, strange and surreal sea creature that has come to live among us, but wants to go home,” he says. “I feel like the voice of this song is one that has done its best to make a place to belong, but knows it doesn’t, can’t or won’t, and is trying to say a heartfelt, honest goodbye.

“Of course, that’s not to say there’s not a piece of me buried in that voice. I don’t think you get to come this far in life without wondering if you really belong to this particular path you’ve found yourself on, if there’s not somewhere else or someone else you’re meant to be. The harder the times, the bigger the question becomes in your mind. When it comes down to it, it’s a song about closing doors and opening new ones.”

Pre-orders are available via Google Play.

Alex Varkatzas Responds To Rumors He Has Parted Ways With Atreyu

According to an article which was published by Lambgoat, last week the metalcore quintet known as Atreyu have parted ways with Alex Varkatzas (Vocals.

At the time of writing now though, Varkatzas has responded to the rumors via an Instagram post.

He posted the lyrics to Stone Temple Pilots ‘Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart” with the hashtag fakenews.
