There’s Nothing Fake About Juliet Ruin’s Release New Single ‘Fake Stigmata’

Leading up to the release of their new EP “Dark Water” on March 26th, 2021, Edmonton, Canada’s metalcore squadron Juliet Ruin is sharing their new lyric video for the third single “Fake Stigmata” via its premiere on New Noise Magazine HERE

Featuring infectious soft-spoken melodic vocals with whiplashing djent riffs, “Fake Stigmata” entices fans to sit back and brace themselves for an anthemic experience that the band is offering up on their forthcoming four-track EP to follow their highly praised 2019 album “Old Stardust, Love, and Chaos”.

The band comments:

“Fake Stigmata is our third and heaviest track from our Dark Water EP, it explores darker lyrical themes and grittier vocals and instrumentals.”

Juliet Ruin‘s new EP “Dark Water” represents a step into a heavier domain for the band as they continue on with low-tuned guitars. The vocals on this record will certainly shock old fans and draw in new fans as frontwoman Jess’s work in the scream vocal area is apparent throughout as she raised the bar on the clean vocals as well with many pop diva-esque techniques.

“The listening experience we are going for is a hard-edged, but catchy experience with lyrics you can shout in anger, but also it leans positive on message.” says the band.

The conception of the new recording was born out of the desire among the members to create a sound with what they consider the true lineup after having a current member miss out on the OSLAC album. Planning originally to just record one single for 2021 became a four-song EP as the ideas were just unceasing to them. This is the freshest possible material from the mind of Juliet Ruin with all songs written within a year. Fans familiar with the band’s sound on previous releases will notice the evolution in a heavier direction.

Juliet Ruin is recommended for anyone who enjoys heavy and melodic metal with powerful vocals, especially those who already have The Agonist, Jinjer, and Killswitch Engage in rotation.

American Teeth Release New Single

Fearless Records recording artist AMERICAN TEETH has shared the new
single One of Those Days.

“It’s a surrender to a bad day,” says AMERICAN TEETH brain trust Elijah Noll. “It’s an acceptance that sometimes you just have to let yourself feel bad, and by doing that, you can let go and get through it. Life certainly isn’t always happy and I’ve noticed that I like to try to force myself to ‘be okay.’ I’m learning that’s not the way for me, and this song is meant to remind myself and other people of that.”

“One of Those Days” is the follow up to the catchy AF first single “Barred Out [Feat. TWIN XL]” and the collaborative track “Still Not Dead,” featuring performances from American Teeth, DREAMERS, and Wes Period. AMERICAN TEETH is the sonic alter ego of Elijah Noll, who collaborates alongside producer Colin Brittain (All Time Low, A Day To Remember, ONE OK ROCK, Papa Roach) on the songs. Hailing from Portland, Maine but currently based in Los Angeles, he has released a handful of singles across DSPs, which have tallied over a million streams thus far in an impressive feat for such a nascent artist. He was recently named one of Alternative Press’ 100 Artists You Need to Know.

AMERICAN TEETH is literally a cyborg — he has a mechanical heart valve, which was installed when he was a teenager to replace a faulty valve with which he was born. His music is much the same — fusing organic sounds and shimmering synths.

Single Review – Cappa – Colder

CAPPA, aka Carla Cappa, is a singer/songwriter with a knack for creating carefree yet clever pop gems. With her deadly combination of atmospheric production, alluring vocals, confident lyricism, and catchy hooks, it’s no wonder that CAPPA has become a blog darling over the years.

Raised on the Philadelphia outskirts by a singer-songwriter mother, CAPPA’s youth was soundtracked by pop greats like Hall & Oates and Carly Simon, the latter of which she also happens to be named after. She picked up guitar at the age of 7 and started to write songs as a form of journaling, something which she has carried into her songwriting process today.

After graduating high school, CAPPA moved down to Nashville to continue to hone her craft. Inspired by the iconic pop sounds of the early 2000s, the grit of the pop-punk scene she grew up on, and the emerging dance music scene, CAPPA’s unique sound quickly took the Nashville pop scene by storm. After releasing music under a few different monikers, she debuted the CAPPA project in 2015 with her first single, “Hush,” with a premiere on SPIN. She followed up her initial success with the release of her self-titled EP and a viral rendition of TLC’s “No Scrubs” that has amassed over 9M+ streams to date. In 2016 she released her sophomore EP, Queen of Hearts, which was produced by Dylan Bauld (Halsey, Misterwives, Liam Payne). Queen of Hearts landed CAPPA critical acclaim from Entertainment Weekly and Billboard, solidifying her as a fresh new artist to watch. In 2018, buoyed by her success in Nashville, CAPPA made the leap to the pop music utopia of Los Angeles.

While continuing her own steady stream of single releases, CAPPA has also become a sought after vocalist, featuring on tracks for major electronic acts like SNBRN, Justin Caruso, and TELYKast. In 2019, her distinctively hypnotic cadence landed her a deal with SPLICE to create an exclusive sample pack. Her refreshing pop sound has also led to a huge range of syncs, with her singles having been featured in ads for Victoria Secret and Lady Gaga’s HAUS Laboratories, and in TV shows like Selling Sunset, Riverdale, and Siesta Keys, just to name a few.

With an arsenal of new original pop gems, CAPPA is now gearing up to release a new EP. Pushing through the various struggles of being an independent artist, she has created a well-rounded record full of fun yet heartfelt tracks that are sure to dazzle fans both new and old.

Set to the wonderful beat and unusual tempo, Cappa constructs a fantastic and emotionally devistating single in ‘Colder’, a track which shows real growth on the artists front where she gives birth to something that we can jam to dance to while in lockdown all the while in lockdown, when this whole chapter is over, can hear where it’ll be truly appreciated in time.

Bloody Hell Unleash Single ‘Burn Witch Burn’, New Record Going April 30th

Formed to cause confusion and fear in people who don’t understand what heavy metal is about, Helsinki, Finland’s BLOODY HELL (ft. members of Moottörin Jyrinä, Metal De Facto) have been wowing fans around the globe with their loud, unapologetic, speed demon tyranny for two decades. Known for their drunken wild shows, the band has always presented good times in the circle pit with anthems about drinking, hangovers, devil-worshipping among other important matters.

Taking a hiatus after releasing two EPs, Hangover Riders (2010), What The Hell (2003) and a self-titled album (2015), along with all members focusing to perform with their other project Moottörin Jyrinä (a children’s heavy metal band that plays cover songs from classic 1980s heavy metal songs with child-friendly Finnish language lyrics with an educational tone), the quartet returns in 2021 to continue the party as grumpy old men with strong 18-year-old angst. Their new record “The Bloodening” due out via Rockshots Records on April 30th, 2021 features 12 fist-pumping songs to kick the band’s new found momentum into overdrive.

To get the headbanging party started, the band is sharing their first single off “Burn Witch Burn” from the full length. The track is good old-school 80’s metal in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept, and Helloween.

Band co-founder and guitarist Jaakko Halttunen comments on the single:

“What do you do when someone does something wrong or somebody suspects that someone has done something wrong? Even without evidence? You’ll of course shout: BURN THE WITCH, BURN THE WITCH!!!! This Song is about the darker side of social media and the yellow press. It’s a killer song indeed!”

Oceans Release New Single ‘We Are NØT Okay’

After revealing the first details about their upcoming digital EP “We Are Nøt Okay”, due to be released on April 30th, OCEANS follow up with the first tune of their new masterpiece. Today, the band release the title track “WE ARE NØT OKAY”, teaming up with Andy Dörner (CALIBAN) who joins the song as a feature guest on vocals.

Singer Timo Rotten states:
“The title track for ‘WE ARE NØT OKAY‘ is about recognizing the fact that it’s actually okay to NOT be okay. We as a society have to overcome the stigma of mental health and admit, that we have a problem. Especially in those challenging times right now, mental health is an important issue that unfortunately is too often swept under the carpet. So if you’re fighting any kind of mental illness we encourage you: reach out to somebody, stop faking smiles and admit that #wearenotokay. Only if we do that, we take a first step towards becoming a more caring and inclusive society. Down in the abyss we are many. “

Andy Dörner adds:
” The topic of “WE ARE NØT OKAY” fits perfectly into today’s world. Even though the theme is timeless,
It’s very important to speak about it and I’m very happy to be a part of this banger song! Enjoy my friends and don’t hesitate to speak up about your problems and inner demons … There is always a solution! “

The single comes with an intense video, which you can watch below:

The EP “We Are Nøt Okay” will be released on April, 30th and contains four different songs dealing with all aspects of mental illness. Each track will feature a special guest adding his very own style to the new output of Berlin / Vienna based post metal heroes OCEANS.

Cooperating with The Ocean In Your Mind, A German NPO, the band adds a very serious tone to their newest output by turning “music for the depressed” into active help and encouraging fans to join the cause.

Raphael Funck, Founder of The Ocean In Your Mind eV adds:
“We dream of a world, in which people can freely show their vulnerability. We are giving hope a voice and are fighting together against suicide and for mental health.”

Long Island Musicians Come Together For Compilation Benefitting Amityville Music Hall

Since the pandemic hit in North America, local music venues have become some of the hardest-hit businesses with little relief coming through. Today, in conjunction with Long Island Emo, musicians who have called Long Island, NY home have come together to raise funds for Amityville Music Hall through the release of The AMH Comp: Volume One. Available exclusively on Bandcamp, 100% of the proceeds from the release will go towards the venue and their staff, who have for years created a strong sense of community for music fans and local and touring acts alike. The 28 songs on the compilation include new originals, covers, and stripped-down versions, expansive of every genre from punk and metal to indie rock and singer-songwriters. Some of the highlights include contributions from John Nolan (Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run), Jade Lilitri (of Oso Oso), Johnny BoothSainthood RepsBrian Byrne (Envy On The Coast, Violent Joy), Somerset ThrowerRare FuturesWreath of Tongues, and Keep Flying. With an outpouring of musicians interested in supporting AMH, there will be a second volume set for release this Spring. The AMH Comp: Volume One is available now for a $15 donation on Bandcamp. To coincide with the release, a t-shirt is also now available for purchase here with funds benefiting the venue.

On the compilation and ongoing support, Amityville Music Hall Ownership commented:

It’s tough to put into words the feelings that we have experienced after receiving the outpouring of support from the tight-knit community of Long Island musicians who have spent time contributing to this compilation. Admittedly, we have struggled to keep AMH alive over the last year, but with the support of these artists our lifespan is extended just a little bit longer. We do not know when we can safely allow shows to happen, but we are committed to seeing that happen as one of the only all-ages venues on Long Island that cater specifically to punk rock & alternative subcultures. We are excited to get back to it!

Speaking on putting together the compilation, Long Island Emo stated:

AMH is such a special place to so many, so sitting idly by while the venue struggles to stay afloat seems almost cruel. Between the staff of the venue and us at LIE, who are independent promoters that use the room frequently, we realized that we have an almost infinite amount of talented friends, peers, coworkers, et cetera. So in order to help the beloved room, we got everyone to rally together and contribute their music to aid in keeping the doors open for when it’s safe again. It seemed like the least we could do to ensure the future of live music on the Island.

UK Punks Harker Release New Single, ‘The Beast Must Die’

Brighton, UK punk rock powerhouse HARKER are back with a new single “The Beast Must Die.”

The track appears on the band’s upcoming LP “Axiom” out April 23rd on Wiretap Records, Disconnect Disconnect Records, Shield Recordings, Fixing A Whole Records.

“The Beast Must Die’ is based on the idea of ‘Mono-consciousness’ by English writer Colin Wilson – as a philosopher, Wilsons writing was heavily focused on striving to live with a heightened sense of meaning and avoiding a closed mindset. This track is a study of characters with a lack of empathy and spirituality, in the end leading to apathy for existence. ‘Mono-consciousness’ is a beast that lurks inside, and needs to be hunted before it takes control of of us.”- Mark Boniface (singer/guitarist)

”AXIOM’ is a statement of intent, a hit back against the apathy of modern living, an attack on idolization and a call for all the marginalized to take the helm – to kick against the pricks.

Foundations built upon a love for pop music, while leaning into their obsession over the golden era of Dischord records & 90s college fuzz sounds. Since 2014, the band have put out releases through well-established labels, including their EP ‘A Lifetime Apart’ and their first full length ‘No Discordance’ which followed in 2018 to critical acclaim – becoming a powerful punk/emo shot to the arm for the UKs indie scene, seeing the band go on to support the likes of The Wildhearts, Mercy Union & Spanish Love Songs as well as a string of UK and international tours including a successful tour of Japan in 2019.

2021 brings their sophomore effort ‘Axiom’ – recorded by producer Bob Cooper, the new album cuts into the state of modern living, discussing themes on isolation, social class and environmental change. Not content with sitting still in their punk-pop bubble and retracing steps, Harker have pushed against the grain with ‘Axiom’ – a middle finger to force fed algorithm produced pop. It sees Harker at their most experimental yet, delving into new sonic territories evolving out of the bands earlier radio-popfuzz rooted sound – pulling in more left field influences, such as Sonic Youth, Jets To Brazil & Black Sabbath.

Harker are a 4 piece ‘EMOGAZE’ band from Brighton, UK.’
