Zoe Zobrist Embraces Motherhood On New Single ‘Oh Baby’

Today singer-songwriter Zoe Zobrist has returned with a moving new single, “Oh Baby.” Currently pregnant with her first child, Zoe penned “Oh Baby” as a letter to the little human growing inside her. Over gentle acoustic strumming, her stirring vocals whisper hopes and dreams for her future child: “Will you stand a little stronger than I do / When the world feels it’s breaking you / When the doors are closing will you kick them through / Cause that’s all that I want for you.”

Amazed by the love she could feel for someone she has yet to meet, Zoe channeled the overwhelming emotions into a song that pulls at the heart strings. It’s a brave and unapologetic track that unfurls her new life chapter ahead. “Parenthood is a massive transition for anyone; it’s a huge new chapter to open,” Zoe says. “Nothing will ever be the same but it’s so beautiful to grow into this new version of yourself. Knowing that you have the opportunity to take all the lessons you’ve learned and make a new little human’s world better is so powerful. Whether you have children on earth or waiting on the other side, are expecting or hope to someday, or feel love for the people who brought you this life, I hope this song can be close to your heart.”

With each new single, Zoe delivers brilliantly human and heart-wrenchingly honest vignettes. Her songs are as personal as they are dynamic. She debuted her first single in 2018 and has since gone on to rack up support from FLAUNT, Under The Radar Magazine and Culture Collide. She has also performed and toured across North America, gracing the stages of iconic music venues like The Viper Room, The Troubadour, and Dallas Fort Worth’s Six Flags Amphitheater. In 2019, she was featured in John Mellencamp’s tour documentary that played on-screen during his “John Mellencamp Show” North American Tour.

Little Thief Release Eerie Court Drama – Inspired Single, ‘Under the Patio’ Off Upcoming Debut Record

Hot on the heels of their recent single ‘Freak’, comes the release of ‘Under The Patio’, the second single taken from Bristol-based rock outfit Little Thief’s incredible debut album, released today.

Formed in 2015 by long-time collaborators Charlie Fitzgerald and Rhii Williams, Little Thief have created their own brand of raw, gritty and soulful alternative rock that defines itself.  They have a handful of successful singles under their belts which have seen them play live sets at Glastonbury and Liverpool Sound City Festival, as well as receiving support from the likes of Far Out Magazine, RTE, Steve Lamacq (BBC 6), BBC Introducing, XS Manchester and Amazing Radio.

With interest in the band quickly growing, they soon began working with independent record label Funnel Records, who shaped them into the band that they are today. With the financial pressures of Covid decimating the arts industry however, Funnel Records sadly are no more, and so as a newly independent band, Little Thief had to turn to Crowdfunder to help to create their debut album, raising a whopping £5,000.

Speaking about the album, recorded with heavyweight producer Stew Jackson (Massive Attack) at Rockfield & Invada Studios, vocalist Charlie Fitzgerald states, “The album was something we worked really closely with Stew Jackson to make. It went to a pretty moody place and the process was fun and weird and everything in between. We watched a lot of Tommy Cash videos and serial killer interviews on YouTube whilst writing the album and then went to Rockfield in Wales for 10 days to record it. We teamed up early on with the incredible Paul Hopkins on his thunderous bass who was a formidable addition to the album. Paul’s bass work and Stew’s production on this one was paramount to the new Little Thief sound. We’ve worked with Paul for years, and he was a big part of the swag that has emerged through making Under The Patio. All in all we wanted to make something with a bit of swagger that was slower and hard hitting.

The album as a whole is something we are so proud of. It’s not been an easy ride, but since we held the finished vinyl in our hands, it all felt worth it.  It’s a beautiful record and we are so happy to be finally getting out into the world.”

Throughout Under The Patio, Little Thief’s visceral lyricism takes the listener on an introspective journey of human interactions, through casual lust-filled encounters, lost loves and crimes of passion all the while blending their inimitable brand of bluesy, gritty rock, unmistakable swagger, Williams’ signature groove and Fitzgerald’s cathartic, raw vocals.

Prior to the album comes it’s title track Under The Patio, a track inspired by two VERY contrasting experiences. “The first verse was written a few months previous about a beautiful relationship between a couple of our friends who were stunningly explosive and never seemed to see a boring day.  The rest actually came from having to watch a real court case about a guy who had killed his Step-Dad, cut him up and hid him in boxes under his T.V. It was pretty fucking creepy.

“On the whole, it’s about being confrontational and honest with yourself so that you have nothing to hide. In a world full of toxic masculinity, it’s about owning up to those elements of your own personality and putting them out to dry”, explains lyricist Charlie Fitzgerald.

Little Thief’s debut album ‘Under The Patio’ will be released September 17th on vinyl and will be available on all major platforms.

Krooked Tongue Release Latest Grunge-Fuelled Single, ‘Swarm’

Following up on the 2020 release of their latest single ‘Different Breed’, Bristol’s alternative-rock three-piece Krooked Tongue are back with ‘Swarm’, their upcoming single due for release September 24th.

After their formation in 2019, the band released their debut single ‘I Wanna Steal Your Car’ to critical acclaim, which soon saw them embarking on their debut UK tour.  Label interest in the band quickly grew and they soon established working relationships with the likes of ENTS 24 and Laney Amps.

2020 saw the cancellation of their second UK tour and the postponement of shows alongside the likes of Dinosaur Pile-Up and Turbowolf, as well as festival slots at Boardmasters and 2000 Trees. The band have instead spent the last year honing in on a more refined studio sound with Josh Gallop of Phoxjaw, working to help replicate their formidable and much-acclaimed live act.  Krooked Tongue are aiming to launch themselves back into the groove of gigging, with a tour later this year alongside Moriaty and Mother Vulture, combined with a sponsored gig with Laney Amps.

Their upcoming single Swarm is bursting with walls of distorted grunge-fuelled riffs, tight, punchy drums and starkly candid lyrics which vocalist Oli Rainsford croons in a soulful, throaty murmur. The track slowly builds in velocity throughout until it reaches a precipice and the guitars almost sound like they erupt into screams of frustration, while Rainsford’s hard-hitting, dark lyrical narratives show the band are as bewildered by our political leaders as they are humoured by them; “They fuck you til your brain hurts, while they drink champagne”.

Speaking about their upcoming single Swarm, produced, mixed and mastered with Josh Gallop (Phoxjaw, Mother Vulture) at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford states, “Swarm encapsulates an overarching frustration in the world at the present time. It explores perceived power, and backs the message that knowledge IS power. Much less a protest song, as a celebration of unity. Swarm is a song you can dance to, in blissful awareness of your own place in society.”

Northtale Announce New Record, ‘Eternal Flame’, Release First Single ‘Only Human’

In August 2019, power metal newcomers Northtale released their successful first album Welcome To Paradise. After their debut show at Sabaton Open Air in Sweden followed by some shows in Japan, the band underwent a line-up change, and after months of auditions, their new vocalist Guilherme Hirose from Sao Paolo, Brazil was chosen. Now, after releasing several re-recorded songs from Welcome To Paradise with Guilherme on vocals, the band are proud to finally announce their new album Eternal Flame, which is set to be released on November 12th via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band unveil the first single ‘Only Human’ – a fast-paced, anthemic tune. Check it out and download it for airplay now

Produced by Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69Unisonic), the new album features 12 brand new tracks and a whole range of new influences, from thrash metal, classical citations and Brazilian traditional music, all fused into Northtale‘s own brand of melodic power metal.

Guitarist Bill Hudson comments:
“The time has come! After almost two years of hard work, a line-up change and a global pandemic, we’re very happy to tell you we’re releasing our new album, Eternal Flame. Our friends at Nuclear Blast have picked ‘Only Human‘ as the first single. A short, straight to the point power metal track packed with every element that makes up our music. Sonically, it’ll sound very familiar to the fans. Lyrically, it talks about the moment we’re living in, where power structures are starting to crumble and people are rising up to what they believe in, in search of evolution. But we also make mistakes, and that’s exactly what makes us human. We learn by trial and error and become wiser that way.
I know it sounds cliché, but this album is very superior to our debut. Also, I got some of my amazing friends to guest on it! I simply cannot wait to hear everyone’s reaction. For now, enjoy ‘Only Human‘ and we’re looking forward to meeting everyone this winter in Europe with Unleash the Archers and Striker.”

Never Loved Release New Single, ‘I Can’t Take It’

Never Loved have dropped their latest single, ‘I Can’t Take It’.

On writing the track, vocalist Cameron Kopp said “‘I Can’t Take It’ was the first song I wrote with Nick (All American Rejects) for the LP. At the time, we already had a good amount of songs that had more the traditional Never Loved sound so my goal going into that writing session was to create something different. When I heard the first 3 chords on keys it instantly resonated with the lyrics I had started to write out. ‘I Can’t Take It’ takes you through all of the mixed emotions that come with wanting to get over someone, but wanting to be with them even more.”

The band are currently touring the US opening for Armor For Sleep.

Check Out Hollow Fronts New video For ‘Treading Water’

Hollow Front have dropped a new music video for their latest single ‘Treading Water’.

On the track, frontman Tyler Tate says “It’s a song about being dragged under by the negative thoughts in your head and always feeling like you’re taking one step forward and ten steps back. It describes that feeling of drowning in your life, but always fighting and clawing your way back up to the surface, and not believing all the negative things your mind is telling you because you have a purpose to fulfil. It’s one of my favourite songs that we’ve ever written and I’m absolutely thrilled to release it for the world to hear. ‘Treading Water’ is the first big step towards releasing the best material we’ve created this far in our careers.”
