Hello everyone and welcome back to the Band Interview Of The Day segment. Today for you viewing pleasure we have River Knight.
- If could introduce yourselves for us, who are you?
Darren: My name is Darren Knight, I play guitar and sing.
Stone: I am Stone River and I do vocals.
- How did you all meet?
Darren: HAHAHA he was drunk when I first met him!
Stone: Oh yeah, I was. HA! I remember storming in the rehearsal room and proclaiming “you guys sound like you need a singer!”, and I got the job HAHAHA.
- How long have you been playing?
Darren: About 3 years as River Knight
Stone: But we’ve been in bands together previously
- What three words would you use to describe the music you play?
Darren: Emotional,
Stone: Beautiful, deceptive, obvious
- What are your musical influences?
Darren: The Beatles, Elbow, Craig David, Wham!
Stone: Iron Maiden, Prince, Hot Chocolate, Guns N’ Roses
- What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen during a show?
Darren: Well, it wasn’t really weird but we did a gig at a pub local to us and a couple of the girls got their… well, they lifted their tops.
Stone: It was weird, it was in a pub.
- Being away from the stages since last year, where is the one place you’d visit when the restrictions are lifted?
Darren: I’m looking forward to getting back to The Loft in Southsea, it’s a really lovely venue
Stone: Festivals for me, not just one of them, but all of them. Or as many as possible.
- What’s the one record you own but wouldn’t ever admit to owning?
Darren: Um, well I don’t mind owning up to anything. I mean I included Craig David as a musical influence.
Stone: And how could I tell you what it is if I wouldn’t ever admit to owning?
- What have you been listening in the last few weeks?
Darren: We’ve been playing a lot so it feels like I’ve been listening to us constantly!
Stone: Somebody said we reminded them of early Jethro Tull. I wasn’t massively familiar with their music so I’ve been checking them out recently.
- Are there any releases you have planned in the near future?
Darren: We’re hopefully gonna get a brand new video out soon
Stone: And we’re constantly writing, so album 2 is well on it’s way.
