1. If could introduce yourselves for us, who are you?
I’m Hywel, I am the vocalist of Virtue In Vain. We are a metalcore band based in Cardiff/London
2. How did you all meet?
Me and our Guitarist (Emyr) are brothers. Dan (Drums) & Mason (Bass) we both know from other bands that we played in the south wales scene. So at one point we all ended up in the same band together.
3. How long have you been playing?
We have been going about 9 years when this band first started in concept but probably about 6 years we have properly been playing as a band.
4. What three words would you use to describe the music you play?
Heavy, Passionate and Punchy
5. What are your musical influences?
Make Them Suffer, The Devil Wears Prada, Architects, Napoleon, For the Fallen Dreams, Crystal Lake & Currents. Plus many other bands we have played with over the many years.
6. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen during a show?
Probably two guys full on fighting to a song. It was a proper fight and quite worrying.
7. Being away from the stages in the last few years, where was the first place you visited when the restrictions were lifted?
I just went to visit family and friends. After that it was band prac. It had been so long that the first prac back left us a bit sore the day after.
8. What’s the one record you own but wouldn’t ever admit to owning?
I don’t really know. I am not ashamed of what I listen to. Post malone maybe? I love him but it’s a bit odd for what I normally listen to.
9. What have you been listening in the last few weeks?
I have been jamming Bleed Within lately. Really killing the scene right now.
10. Are there any releases you have planned in the near future?
We are currently writing for our next EP. We have also just announced a small run of shows in the Uk later this year and also have some plans in the works to tour early 2023 so keep checking out our socials for updates.
