Jaws The Shark shares scintillating new effort ‘Destroy the World’ (feat. Dinosaur Pile-Up), out today (August 23rd) via So Recordings (Deaf Havana, Enter Shikari, Placebo).
The solo project of London-based musician Olly Bailey, Jaws The Shark came out of the blocks fast in 2020 with the killer piece of garage rock ‘Demon Dream’, and the project has since seen significant support from key press champions such as Dork, The Independent and Gigwise, as well as multiple plays on the BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and BBC 6 Music (Shaun Keaveny, Huw Stephens) airwaves. The release of debut EP ‘Another Day In Paradise’ via cult indie label Nice Swan Records followed in 2021 alongside nationwide festival slots and support shows with the likes of Dinosaur Pile-Up, The Maine and The Wytches, putting Jaws The Shark in front of a wider audience. Now signed to So Recordings, a follow-up EP is imminent, ensuring Jaws The Shark’s presence within the musical landscape is primed to become even greater in the months to come.
Speaking ahead of his track release, the alt-rocker stated:“‘Destroy The World‘ is a song about how there has been a significant shift in the mood of the planet in recent times, in the age of the billionaire. The saying used to be ‘Save the world, get the girl’, but now in the current climate, it seems that the more of an arsehole you are, the more you seem to get rewarded for it. The world is run by only a handful of powerful people, and the decisions that they make largely only benefit themselves or those in similar positions of power.”
Produced by Larry Hibbitt (Nothing but Thieves, Don Broco, Sea Girls), Jaws The Shark’s‘Destroy The World’ (feat. Dinosaur Pile-Up) is out now via So Recordings and available on all digital platforms.
