2000 Trees Announces More Acts For 2023 Festival

2000trees Festival have announced a whole more bands, acts and artists for their 2023 event.

Heading up this announcement are the stunning US emo rock band American Football, Californian rock band Eagles Of Death Metal, Sacremento punk band Destroy Boys, the Belgians Brutus, Detroit ‘high voltage’ rock band par excellence Electric Six and Brighton band Black Honey.

From James Scarlett, 2000trees Festival organiser and booker – “For us, seeing fans just as excited about the bands lower down the line up as they are about the bigger artists is what 2000trees is all about, and this announcement is no different. Heriot and Kneecap were big personal highlights from 2000trees 2022, so to be able to have Heriot return to smash the Main Stage and Kneecap bringing the carnage to the Forest Stage is going to be something special! And there’s still two headliners to come sooner than you might think…”

2000Trees Announce Postponement Of 2021 Festival

After hoping and hoping festivals would be returning in 2021, 2000trees have announced that they are postponing until 2022.

In a very honest statement as well as one that’s quite lengthy, the organisers of the festival have said that a combination of overseas bands unable to come over and a lack of insurance-based support from the UK government has meant that the best option is to come back next year.

But there’s some good news, they have also confirmed the first batch of bands who will be returning.

You can read it in full below:

“Over the last two weeks, it has become clear that, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, bands based outside of the UK will not be able to travel to 2000trees in 2021.

We’ve had confirmation that around 20 of the biggest bands from our line up will not be coming to Upcote Farm this summer. This list, which is growing every week, includes our headliners Jimmy Eat World & Thrice, plus Knocked LooseYoung GunsThe Get Up KidsLaura Jane GraceAnti-Flag and Stray From The Path.

As a result, we have been forced to take the absolutely heart-breaking decision to postpone 2000trees to July 6-10 2022. Up until a week ago we were still furiously working behind the scenes to try make the festival happen. We really wanted (& needed) a party just as much as you this year. But after losing these bands, it’s clear that we are unable to give you the award-winning Trees experience that you know and love this year.

LACK OF GOVERNMENT BACK CANCELLATION INSURANCE

Bands dropping out is one thing, but to make matters worse, the UK government have repeatedly refused to provide any COVID cancellation insurance for the I’ve events industry.

Hundred of festivals have been asking for months for a Government-backed insurance policy allowing us to confidently host the event this year. We were hopeful that this insurance would be in place by now. Although they’ve provided a similar scheme for film & TV, the Government have completely let the live music industry down by refusing to back a simple insurance policy.

This would have cost them next to nothing unless the roadmap dates are changed (or we are put into another lockdown), & it’s the single most effective thing that could have done to get festivals back up and running this summer. Many independent festivals have already postponed because of this and we know of many other events that will shortly be announcing their postponement.

The obvious concern is that there may still be delays or changes to the COVID restrictions at the last minute. Without this vital COVID cancellation insurance, going ahead with this year’s event would simply be a huge financial risk, potentially jeopardising our long-term survival. So we were left with no other choice than to pull the plus before it was too late.

THE GOOD NEWS

The GOOD NEWS is that things are already looking amazing for 2000trees 2022. As not stands, we’ve very nearly sold out for next year and we are very excited to announce that the following bands from this year are now confirmed for 2022:

TICKETS

All 2021 tickets are automatically valid for next year’s festival and if you already have your ticket, you do not have to do anything to reserve your place. Your existing ticket is now your ticket to 2022.

As a small, independent business that’s been hit extremely hard by the pandemic, we really need as many people as possible to roll their tickets to next year, just so we can keep paying our staff and secure the long-term survival of 2000trees.

You kept us alive in 2020 when over 95% of you rolled your tickets to this year. If you could do the same for us again by holding onto your tickets until 2022, not only will uni get next year’s festival at 2019, but we will love you forever & promise to make the 2022 festival one to remember.

Thanks for reading and for your continued support, it means the world to us & we look forward to partying extra hard with you all next year.

James, Bren, Si, Andy, Mark and Rob”

And given how bad 2020 has been for us all we wanted to give people something to shout about and get excited for, so this week we’ve gone massive with 110 bands being announced. Hopefully it also shows people how committed we are to 2000trees 2021 and our determination to see everyone at Upcote Farm in July. See you all then!”

And has there been anyone else announced?

Yes in fact. Thursday has been announced.

2000 Trees Festival will take place 2 – 10th July 2021 at Upcote Farm, Cheltenham.

2000 Trees Announce First Headliner for 2021 Edition

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the 2020 iteration of the 2000 Trees Festival was inevitably cancelled.

Nevertheless, plans are in place for the festival to return in 2021, with the announcement of the first headliner: Jimmy Eat World!

The band were set to headline this year but now the band will be headlining the main stage on the Thursday night of the festival.

James Scarlett, the 2000 Trees organiser has said:

“We’re mega excited to announce that Jimmy Eat World will be at 2000trees 2021 as our Main Stage Thursday headliner. They were the first band we announced for 2020 so it felt like the right thing to let people know now.

“I also really can’t wait to shout about the rest of the 2021 line up – a little bit of inside info is that it will feature loads of the 2020 bands with some very special cherries on top. Watch this space!”

2000 Trees has also launched a crowd funder for people to help support the festival. The perks from this offer a range of things from t-shirts to que jumping at the toilets.

James has said:

“Today we’ve launched a 2000trees crowd funder with some amazing rewards for our fans and supporters.

“As people are already aware, due to the COVID-19 pandemic 2000trees has been postponed until 2021. This means that, as an independent business with no corporate backers this crowd funder will secure the long term survival of 2000trees and help to support thousands of others that depend on 2000trees each year.

“If people are able to help out then they will be a hero not just to the six of us who work all year round on the festival, but our whole team and everyone else that loves 2000trees.”

The crowd funder can be found via this link.
The 2021 iteration of 2000 Trees will take place 8th – 10th July 2021 at Upcote Farm, Cheltenham.

2000 Tress Festival POSTPONED!

This sucks but safety has to be taken into account before everyone gets mad!

It’s been announced that the 2020 edition of the 2000 Trees Festival has been postponed.

Dates for the 2021 edition have been revealed at Upcote Farm, Cheltenham for 8th – 11th July.

Tickets which were purchased for this year’s event will be valid for next year.

A statement from the organizers can be found below:

“OK legends, it’s finally time to call it. We tried for as long as possible to stay optimistic & keep the dream alive but unfortunately, we’ve been forced to take the incredibly tough decision to postpone 2000trees until July 8th-10th 2021.  After 13 years, we really can’t comprehend a summer without 2000trees & we’re truly gutted.

The decision to postpone wasn’t taken lightly and is sincerely the last thing we wanted to do. We were still hopeful of going ahead until a few days ago.  However, it has become increasingly clear that the current situation isn’t going away anytime soon and the health & safety of our guests, staff & the wider community at large has to come first.

But never fear, we will come out the other side of this nightmare absolutely gagging for a party at Upcote Farm next year.  We promise to deliver you the most amazing edition of 2000trees ever in 2021!

The good news is, all tickets are now automatically valid for next year’s event and if you already have your ticket, you do not have to do anything to reserve your place at 2000trees 2021.  Your existing ticket is now your ticket to 2021.

For the full statement including details on refunds please see here.

We’ll be in touch soon with all the news on 2000trees 2021, but until then – stay home, stay safe & we look forward to partying with you in a field as soon as we can.

Love and (virtual) hugs from all at 2000trees.

Andy, Brendan, James, Mark, Rob & Si”
