My Kid Brother Announce Debut Record

My Kid Brother, have announced their full-length album Happy.Mad.Weird.Sad. which is set arrive on the 7th of October, 2022 on Fearless Records. Pre-order are available here.

Today, the band has shared the video for “Spilt Salt.” check out the video below.

“Spilt Salt” is a “f**k you” to the vapid social climbers of the world. But the video is a tongue-in-cheek homage to heavy metal imagery that even the staunchest headbanger won’t be able to help but love.

“‘Spilt Salt’ was originally written when I moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Loudoun County, Virginia,” says singer Christian Neonakis. “The song is about my first impressions with the new environment and new people that I met. Unfortunately, many of the first people I met were vapid socialites with rich parents and we had almost nothing in common. I felt bored, isolated, insecure, and hopeless. So I wrote a ‘fuck you’ song to the egotistical social climbers of the world and that’s what ‘Spilt Salt’ is about. Since having been here in Loudoun County for several years now, I have met some of the most wonderful people and made many truly genuine friendships. I just unfortunately met the dickheads first.”

Manchester Indie Rockers Weimar Release Debut Record, ‘Dancing On A Volcano’

Manchester art-rock quartet Weimar have released their debut album ‘Dancing On a Volcano’ on CD via German Shepherd Records and digitally via Marlene’s Hat Records. These 12 tracks take the listener on an unpredictable excursion through the socio-political and personal challenges of our modern age.

The first taste of the album was ‘Soho Rain’ featuring Leeds-based artist Finola, which is dedicated to the old Soho district of London (the city’s seediest square mile), its dying culture and the many artistic and cultural movements that emerged there. Earlier this year, the band also released the 2-track single ‘The Girls of LA’ with New Order-esque B-side ‘Transatlantic Confusion’.

Embracing post-punk to no wave, cabaret, psychedelia, alternative folk and gothic rock, all blended in a distinctive fusion, this album was produced by Adam Crossley and Chris Guest of Vibratone Sound Studio. The cover art was created by acclaimed artist and writer Brian Gorman.

Since forming in 2016 and hitting the live circuit, Louder Than War named Weimar amongst its 50 Bands To Watch for 2019, the year they debuted the single ‘John Doe / Curse the Songs’, followed by ‘Marvel To The State / Undesirable Master’. Having worked with legendary post-punk producer Simon ‘Ding’ Archer, they’ve also played with Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) and goth legends Skeletal Family.
‘Dancing On A Volcano’ LP is available everywhere, including SpotifyApple Music and Bandcamp. It can also be ordered on CD directly from the band.

In addition tot he announcement, the band have shared: ‘Wyatt’s Song (Your Name)’ and is written for vocalist Dan Campbell’s oldest son. It’s a song that also feels like the foundation for a lot of what the album will be about, and is as beautiful and emotional as you would expect.

Dan had this to say about it:

“It’s about the polarising forces of love and anxiety that come with being a new parent—simultaneously being so overjoyed that they’re here, about the miraculous nature of their existence, but afraid of all the ways you could fail them. It’s about raising children in a world that feels like it’s actively ending and how to make them feel safe and cared for despite that. It tries to breathe in the small, beautiful moments and exhale all of the invasive thoughts of despair.”

I Prevail Announce New Record, ‘True Power’

Platinum-certified and twice GRAMMY-nominated Michigan rock powerhouse I PREVAILave announced their upcoming record, ‘TRUE POWER’, their third full length offering on Fearless Records set to drop on 19th August 2022.

Trauma was a very reflective record,” says singer Brian Burkheiser, referring to TRUE POWER‘s game-changing predecessor.  “I’d struggled with a major vocal injury and had been wondering whether I wanted to continue doing this thing at all. Eric [Vanlerberghe] had also lost his best friend over that same time, so there was a lot of heartache behind it. With TRUE POWER, we were going into a new phase. After taking that trauma and figuring out how to channel it, you find this sense of newfound confidence and an ability to grow as a person: to become truly yourself. We took a ‘no rules’ mentality into the songwriting, and a lot of it is heavy as fuck, but the songs sound as diverse as they’ve ever been, too. There is a song on the record called ‘There’s Fear In Letting Go,’ and that became a huge mantra for us. Yeah, it can be scary letting go of things, but it can also help you take back everything that’s yours: which is exactly what we’ve done on this album.”

Waxx Release New Single, ‘Read Reciepts’

Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated second studio album “At Least I’m Free” out 5th August via Dew Process, WAAX has shared the vividly charged new single “Read Receipts” alongside the accompanying music video.

Brimming with honesty and intensity, on “Read Receipts”, lead vocalist Maz DeVita sings of anger, abandonment and disappointment on the despondent rock song. “We’re pretty excited to let this one out as it’s perhaps our best songwriting effort in our opinion (and Bernard’s). This one came together super fast. James and I were writing together on the Sunshine Coast and immediately the melody and lyric fell out. It’s literally about being left on read and being left in the cold with no answers. I was definitely feeling those feels at the time,” DeVita explains.

“‘Salt’ is a song about trying to move forward and then feeling like nothing ever changes, even when you’ve seemingly done everything right,” the band says. “It’s the sort of feeling that makes you question every move you’ve ever made. Initially, the lyrics were just about having trouble writing songs for our new record, but soon, we realized that this feeling of fighting only to be stagnant and held down applies to so much more in our lives. It was really a breakthrough track and allowed us to dive in even deeper into what became Color Decay.”

Finnish Power Regiment, Remains Of Destruction Release New Record, ‘New Dawn’

The Finnish power metal regiment, Remains of Destruction, released their album called “New Dawn” on May 28, 2022. The revolutionary album transports the listener through beautiful melodies, heavy riffs, and epic moods. R.O.D has released a total of five singles from the album that have received good feedback, and the band assures that listeners will not be disappointed with their first full-length album.

“New Dawn” has also had high-level collaborators, such as Topias Kupiainen of Arion, long-time power metal expert Esa Orjatsalo, award-winning game music composer Kohld Haveneson, and Venezuela’s gift to music production, producer Felipe Grüber.

The songs’ themes on the album primarily deal with modern-day themes, and the texts revolve around the war in Ukraine, the pandemic, and the current state of humanity.

The band’s singer Jesse Yrjölä, who was responsible for the production and recording of the album, says of the new album:

“New Dawn” is an epic journey through a post-apocalyptic fictive alternate reality full of velocity and dangerous situations. The album follows the real world’s ugly situation through a third-person view, likened to a slightly whimsical universe according to our ideology through the eyes of different characters.

The concept of the album and some of the songs was in mind even before the whole band was formed. In the turn of the year, when our lineup was complete, we decided together to book an album-release gig and made a deal that we are going to finish the album by the gig. At that time we had released 3 singles and a total of five songs had been written! We worked our asses off throughout the beginning of the year and we were able to finish an album consisting of nine songs 3 weeks before the release! “the band’s singer laughs”. We got a real supergroup of awesome peers who I want to thank a thousand times for their work! Without them, this album would have never seen the light of day.

We hope everyone gets on board with us to spread the message of power metal!

Check out ‘New Dawn’ on your preferred streaming service.
