It’s 4PM on a Friday! This means it’s time for the music video roundup. If you’re new to either the blog or these music video roundup posts, this is how it works. Every week, I watch some of the best recently released music videos and compile them into a list for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They’re span across all the different genres, so expect something different for most of the tracks. First up this week is Grammy Nominated Pop-Rocker Avril Lavigne. Recently she has debuted her latest single, ‘Head Above Water’. Warning: there are some Amy Lee red dress vibes going on here.
With the release of her seventh record, ‘Birth Of Violence’ coming up, Chelsea Wolfe has released a brand new video for the release of her latest single, ‘American Darkness’.
Stray From The Path are just on an upward trajectory right now, and with the release of their new track, ‘Fortune Teller’.
On the track, the band have shared: Describing the track, the band say “Musically, a heavily syncopated assault on the senses. Lyrically, a fired-up attack on the status quo. Written as an antidote to the boomer mentality, Fortune Teller is an anthem for building a better future – no matter how badly it’s been laid out by the past.”
Within the last few weeks, the British metalcore band TheCityIsOurs have released their debut record! ‘Low’ was released and the last cut before they dropped the entire record was called ‘If You Know, You Know’.
Mikey Page (Guitar/Vocals) shared:
“‘If You Know, You Know’ is a ray of positivity, in an otherwise dark album, born out of the frustration of living with your own demons. In a climate dominated by social media, we often seek validation from others around us, usually from people who are in no way qualified to do so, yet it can be extremely frustrating when we are overlooked or judged by others.
This track is about standing by what you believe in and doing what makes you happy – regardless of what anybody else has to say. Learning to love yourself can be a challenging concept, but it’s impossible to help others, without looking after yourself. We wanted to highlight that despite all the challenges featured throughout ‘Low’ there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Heading straight across to Lincoln, we have the hardcore up and comers Reclaimer who’ve recently dropped a video for ‘Canvey’, the latest single to come from their recently released EP, ‘Grief, Enslaved’.
This isn’t just a British list from a certain point, don’t worry. Moving to Brighton for the next video, they were the Rockest Record on Daniel P. Carters Radio 1 Rock Show, it’s Gender Roles! Here’s ‘Hey With Two Why’s’.
Moving to America Now, Florida’s Happy Hour a few months back released their second EP, ‘Love Hurts’ but where’s the video?
Full of demonic seduction to destroy their victim, check out ‘Cigarettes’ below.
Moving across to California, Ceremony are the band at number eight this week. They’re gearing up for the release of their new record, ‘In The Spirit World Now’ in just two weeks and they have released their title track to tear the world apart.
‘In The Spirit World Now’, is set to be released on August 23rd 2019.
Penultimate video time! I had to include this video because Yonaka are one of the best UK bands coming up in the scene right now!
They’ve recently released a video for ‘Rockstar’, a track off their debut record, ‘Don’t Wait ‘Til Tomorrow’.
And we’ve come to the finale! And I’ve made sure it’s a big one! Bullet For My Valentine has unveiled a brand new video for ‘Piece Of Me’. It’s off their 2018 record ‘Gravity’ which also features footage from the band’s recent tour which included huge shows at London’s Alexandra Palace and from Slam Dunk Festival 2019. Let’s dive in.
And that’s it for another week of music video roundup. Don’t forget to check back next week at 4PM sharp for another countdown of ten of the best recent music videos to feast your eyes upon. There’s also new posts every day on the Almost anything Media so be sure to check out anything that might catch your eye.
You know what it’s time for! Another music video roundup! It’s where I look for ten of the latest and great music videos out there ranging from every array of the Rock genre for your viewing pleasure. First up is Oh, Weatherly’s ‘Here Tonight’. This is a track off their upcoming record, ‘Lips Like Oxygen’ out July 27th on Hopeless Records.
Next up is a live video to change things up a touch! It’s from While She Sleeps for Silence Speaks which was filmed at St Pancras Old Church which is off their upcoming ‘You Are We Special Edition’ due for release on July 20th.
Next up is Luke Rainsford. He’s a lad that’s on a high at the moment, having just played Slam Dunk festival and looking ahead to next month, will be making appearances at 2000 Trees and Fat Lip festival in Bristol. ‘Looking For You Ghost’ is off his EP, ‘I Just Don’t Deserve To Be Loved’ which is out now.
Moving on, we have Post-Hardcore group Dance Gavin Dance. They’re continuing their promotion for their new record in the form of their eighth album ‘Artifical Selection’ which is out today via Rise Records! This video is for their track ‘Care’.
Moving to something more brutal in the form of Bury Tomorrow. They’re gearing up for their new record, ‘Black Flame’ which is out on Jul13th via Music For Nations’.Check out their dark video for the track, ‘Knife Of Gold’.
And now something which is drenched in red. This is Mapyine’s new video for ‘Give’ which is being self-released by the band on July 6th.
Moving to the post-metal genre is Mountaineer. They’ve recently released their video for ‘Hymnal: PAssage III’ which is from their upcoming release on June 29th for their second album, ‘Passages’.
Everyone seems to have a new record out within the next twelve months, not that I’m complaining. This next video comes from Bullet for My Valentine. The Welsh giant’s new record, ‘Gravity’ is out on June 29th and this track is called ‘Letting You Go’.
It looks like Tigress have gotten themselves into a sticky situation. The Exxex based band have recently dropped their new EP, ‘Who Cares’ and the band have unveiled a video to accompany its lead single, ‘Hangman’.
And now for the last video for this week’s list is from Cane Hill. They’ve recently shared a creepy video to accompany ‘It Follows’, the latest track off their latest record, ‘Too Far Gone’ which features some horror-esque style to match the track.
And that’s it for another round of music videos. Check back next week to see what will be on another countdown for your viewing pleasure.
Bullet For My Valentine have announced their new drummer!
Jason Bowld has now been unveiled as a permanent member of the band.
Here is the statement from Bullet.
Bullet family,
So, the time is almost upon us. We’ve been slaving away since April on new music, and we’re stoked to say that as of today – the sixth Bullet album is 99% DONE. We’ve one or two cherries to add to the cake, so to speak, but we can say without doubt that we’ve created something that we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to let you hear it.
In the spirit of starting a fresh chapter for Bullet For My Valentine, we wanted to clarify the Bullet For My Valentine drummer situation . As most of you know, Jason Bowld has been in the hot seat since November 2015, playing every show we’ve done since then – killing it every single night. Jase has been a big part of making the last cycle for us our most enjoyable and successful yet, from the live shows through to the writing and recording sessions for ‘Don’t Need You’ last year.
With that said, we’d like to officially welcome Jason to Bullet For My Valentine as our permanent drummer. Since initially filling in for Moose in 2015, Jase has cemented himself as an integral member of the Bullet family, and you guys are going to be blown away with what he’s brought to the new record.
We’d like to place on record our thanks for everything that Michael “Moose” Thomas has given to Bullet throughout his time in the band, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.
Please join us in welcoming Jase to the fold, as I know he’d like to thank you guys for all the support and love you guys have given him over the last 2 years.
We’ll see you guys in 2018. It’s going to be a big one.
