Dance Gavin Dance’s TIlian Person gave us a brand new solo single last month.
That single was ‘Dose’. Now, there’s a video to go with it.
It’s been animated by Santiago Imkorpo Pagnotta and the video is just an insanely trippy ride via odd imagery. Basically, it’s a rollercoaster ride of imagery.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether or not the track is going to be a stand alone single or feature on a yet to be announced EP or Record.

Speaking on the colossal undertaking of shutting down Tower Bridge and transforming it into an in-the-round concert stage complete with arena level light production, Tilian Pearson, singer of Dance Gavin Dance shares:
“We are poised to step up to the challenge of playing a fully fan-voted set, and it is an honor to be able to shut down traffic in the middle of the city to do it.”
“Sacramento has a deep history of prominent bands that call our city home and we’re excited to add Dance Gavin Dance to that list,” comments Mike Testa, President & CEO of Visit Sacramento. “You can tell by their heartfelt words, and their energetic performance, that they love their hometown as much as we do and we’re proud to showcase them on the region’s most notable landmark, the Tower Bridge.”

The Tree City Sessions Volume 2 PPV stream event is produced by Danny Wimmer Presents who recently entered the digital content curation space, promoting pay-per-view concert streams and creating the popular digital series Offstage with DWP. DWP is known worldwide for their stellar portfolio of music and lifestyle events, which includes Aftershock, Bourbon & Beyond, Epicenter, Hometown Rising, Louder Than Life, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, and Welcome To Rockville.
Dance Gavin Dance released their ninth studio album, Afterburner, earlier this yearwhich has already clocked up 70.2 million streams since releaseand topped a multitude of charts on two separate occasions, once with it’s digital release hitting #1 across the Current Albums, Alternative, Billboard Top Albums, Digital, Current Digital Albums, Rock, Heavy Rock and Current Independent Albums charts and #14 on the Billboard Top 200 and again when the physical version was released several months later due to the pandemic, when it hit #1 across Vinyl, Internet, Alternative, Rock, Hard Music, Independent Current Albums, #3 Top Current and Billboard Top Albums and #47 on the Billboard 200 charts.
The album was produced by the group’s frequent collaborator, Kris Crummett, (Issues, Sleeping With Sirens, Mayday Parade) and Drew Fulk a.k.a. WZRD BLD (Lil Wayne, Motionless in White, Bad Wolves). The album is a landmark mission statement that encompasses Dance Gavin Dance energy past, present, and future. It is a dynamic demonstration of what the quintet does best, and is equal parts aggressive, melodic, and unrestrained.
Rejecting tired formulas at every step, Dance Gavin Dance merge progressive rock and post-hardcore with thick groove, brilliantly combining experimental music with hooks and a warped sense of humor. The group has amassed over 1 billion global streams, and 1 million album equivalent units sold across their catalog in the US alone. With hundreds of thousands of rabid fans engaged with Dance Gavin Dance on socials and their very own festival event, Swanfest, which sold out its inaugural edition in 2019 and is slated to return, once it is safe to do so, in 2021, it all amounts to a full force band facing a mainstream that has overlooked them for too long.
In the heady tradition of Frank Zappa and Nirvana – people who made serious art without ever seeming self-serious – Dance Gavin Dance is a band that does what they want, how they want, confident that the audience will keep up. Tree City Sessions Volume 2 is another in a long line of wildly creative, boundary pushing endeavours by one of modern music’s most brilliant and unique musical forces. Don’t miss out on your chance to be part of DGD history, get your tickets now.
Hey everyone. First off, I have to say apologies on my end for no New Music or Music Video Roundup last week, life got in the way of things for me when I got some more hours at my regular job which added to my other responsibilities. But now, we’re back to normal with things.
But now, we’re back! Welcome back to another weekly Friday post of ten of the best recently released music videos and sometimes a little information that comes with them! They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music (videos)!
First up this week is the Pop-Punk Songstress herself, Bronnie. Keeping herself busy down in lockdown, there’s been some shooting, editing and more which culminate in the video for ‘R U The Same’.
Heading over to Hertfordshire for The Hunna, the band have released a video for ‘I Wanna Know’, which is a track from their upcoming record, ‘I’d Rather Die Than Let You In’.
Ryan Potter (Vocals, Guitar) says:
“‘I Wanna Know’ is up there for us with one the best songs we’ve ever written, it’s high octane all the way through and doesn’t let up, it’s kind of our Motley Crüe moment on the album. we played it on tour before we’d even started recording the album from a demo we did with Feldy and it was insane every time! Its story comes from a place of extreme lust and infatuation with someone, wanting to know how they tick, what the feel, what they believe, wanting to be apart of anything they do, almost so much you could literally blow up.”
Next, heading onto a newly fresh band who’ve recently signed onto Hopeless Record, we have Point North! They’re gearing up for the release of their record, ‘Brand New Vision’ which is set to be released on August 17th 2020.
For the time being though, here’s a visual for the track, ‘Personal’.
Heading over to the heavy hitting Flordia duo, Bloodbather next, we have a new track titled as ‘Void’ which is expected to feature on the band’s yet to be announced debut record.
Kuler Millo (Vocals / Bass) says:
“‘Void’ is about fixation on a person and perceiving how good they have it. And wanting to wear their skin metaphorically and literally after observing them (stalking them) for an undisclosed period of time.”
Moving back across the pond for the latest Inklings incarnation, we have the third single off the upcoming EP, ‘Is This Who You Are?’.
Kemp comments on the track and the message below.
“‘Like It Or Not’ is about losing people. You know when you have that friend that meets someone and seems to just disappear? That feeling. This is the third single now from the EP and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve also got some other tasty collaborations I’ve been doing with some friends coming soon too. All systems go”
How about some Welsh Pop-Punk now? You know who we’re on about! That’s the faves from Neck Deep who have released the single, ‘I Revolve (Around You)’ comeplete with the animated stylings.
This is off their upcoming record, ‘All Distortions Are Intentional’ which is set to be released on July 24th via Hopeless Records.
Ben Barlow (Vocals) has said:
“‘I Revolve (Around You)’ is a song about love on a planetary scale. It is one big metaphor, comparing love to the movement of the planets. Picturing love on that scale really makes everything else seem small and insignificant. The song comes at a point of epiphany on the record- the realisation that despite life’s trials and tribulations, love conquers all.
Musically it’s hard hitting and impactful, and actually features one of my favourite ever sections in a Neck Deep song where I got to channel my inner Tom Delonge, which for a song about space I feel is pretty fitting! It’s the first time we’ve done a full animated video and we’re so stoked on how it came out, the amazing team at Remembers in France did a beautiful job embodying the feeling of the lyrics.”
Checking into Japan for the next pick in the form of Man With A Mission. They have ‘Rock Kingdom’ for the world which is one of the new tracks from their recent greatest hits record, ‘Man With A “Best” Mission’.
The video features Tomoyasu Hotei, whom for those if you don’t know, is a legendary guitarist and he filmed his appearance from his London home who’ve said the following on the track.
“Man With A Mission and I got to collaborate on my song (‘Give It To The Universe’), and we got along so well they asked me in return to collaborate on one of their songs. I’m super excited that the song turned out to be a very powerful track! It was lonely filming the video on my own, but hopefully I’ll get to rock out with the wolves very soon!”
Moving to the band ides now. We’re eaergerly awaiting their upcoming third record, ‘Ultra Mono’, set to be released on September 25th 2020 via Partisan Records.
Frontman Joe Talbot says:
“‘A Hymn’ is a hymn that rejoices in the sinister flesh-eating virus of the pedestrian. It sings the tune of normal’s teeth sinking into your neck as you sleep stood up with your eyes open. Amen.”
Taking to Sacramento for the penultimate pick in the form of Dance Gavin Dance. They have an animated video for ‘One In A Million’, the latest cut off their recently released ‘Afterburner’ EP which sees the bull character off their album release living a stressful work life who’s then transported intot the 2D world.
And now for our final pick in the week’s video, we have the enigmatic, larger than life and utterly fantastic Yungblud.
He’s been low on the radar for the last few weeks in preparation for the first release single ‘Weird’ a few months ago. The video for the latest cut ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ is weird, wonderful and fits right into that Yungblud spectrum. Enjoy!
And that’s it for another week of a countdown of the best singles out in the world in the last week. Be sure to check back next-time for another round of great music videos. If you have any suggestions for me to check out, be sure to send an email or message us via the socials on Facebook or Twitter!
The music video roundup is back! That’s right now things are looking bleak so I wanted to re-instate the roundup so everyone has something new to be watching. In addition to this, there’s a new weekly tracks post coming because it will not stop the music!
First things first, to get up started we have Puppy. ‘Powder Blue’ is the last one on their last EP, ‘iii’ On the track they’ve said: “We called it that because it was our third EP, and because there are three of us in the band. For whatever reason, triptychs, triplets, three-pieces & trilogies felt quite important to us at that point.
Up in the second spot this week is the Manchurian Pop-Rock up and comers who have just about established themselves with this reworked mashup of two of their tracks in a toned-down version for ‘Wide Awake (In Awful Ever After) for which both tracks are cut from 2019’s ‘Are You Feeling Alive’ EP. In addition to the new cut of the track, we have some behind the scenes footage of the band as well as some live footage for everyone to enjoy.
Now, who’s up for some gymnastics and a pulsating slow-burning performance? Well, that’s just what Frank Iero And The Future Violents have in store for us as Frank himself explains:
“It was apparent to me early on while writing Barriers that ‘Medicine Square Garden’ was its most important track. It was the cornerstone upon which the rest of the record and band was formed. If we lost the battle on that song, the rest didn’t stand a chance. ‘Medicine Square Garden’ pushed the most boundaries, scratched the most itches, and terrified me far beyond any other song I had written. So when we crossed off every box in Chicago at Electrical Audio and listened back with smiles knowing we had accomplished our goals, a new objective soon emerged: Get the label to see our favorite song as a single, and let us make the video of my dreams.”
“‘Medicine Square Garden’ is not your typical single. It’s a five and a half minute attempt at answering the question, ‘What if Prince wrote a Sleep song?’ Oh and if that’s not batshit enough for you, I already had the video in my head. So armed with crudely drawn set designs and a typed-up description of a witchy calisthenics workout meets a Robert Palmer alien massacre, I submitted my pitch to the label. This was my vision from the beginning and no one told me I was crazy. What a world.”
Next up, we have a little talk of Nothing, Nowhere. It’s a track that’s full of harsh beats and vocals which are somehow a little harsher. You can watch ‘Death’ below.
Now, since Suitor released their debut in October of last year the band have been busy. They’ve been touring like crazy and as well as working on their upcoming second EP. The video for that second release is now complete in the form of ‘Deep Sleep’.
On the track singer Casey Smith has said:
“‘Deep Sleep’ as a video conveys the battle of addiction and temptation; literally in the form of alcoholism, or something else entirely based on perspective. Drug abuse, codependency, self medication, whatever it takes to find respite in a depressive or anxious reality. That solution or “fix” is portrayed in the siren character. For the wandering male lead, it is the only option, the only path that leads to a salvation without despair, in her embrace. Even if it means the end for him, he cant resist the cure, allowing her to pull him beneath the surface, finally at peace. He wakes, stunned to realize that it was only a dream; a temporary escape. Where does he go from here?”
For another up and coming band we have Static Dress. They’ve been on the up and there’s no signs of them stopping. Now they have a new track in the form os ‘Safeword’ which has an accompanying video where they return to the green and white room from their debut single, ‘Clean’.
Moving on in the list Dance Gavin Dance have launched a new video, with the help of their fans. In their ‘Three Wishes’ video, the band put a call out for people to send in footage of themselves cleaning their houses, brushing their teeth etc (A little strange right?)
But ‘Three Wishes’ is off their upcoming record ‘Afterburner’, which is due to be released April 24th via Rise Records.
Now we have Eat Away My Heart. It’s actually a track title on this one. I’m sure everyoen’s thinking the same, is it? It’s actually a fact! This track comes from the brilliant Wallflower whom have their debut record, ‘Teach Yourself To Swim’ on its way and now there’s a video to go with it!
On the track though, vocalist/guitarist Vini Moreira-Yeoell has said:
“It’s a song about giving away all the best parts of yourself to someone in the hope that the person in question will like you a little more, which never works by the way.”
Check out ‘Eat Away At My Heart’ below.
Now we’re nearing the endgame for this weeks list where A Day To Remember’s time has finally come on the list. Everyone’s eagerly awaiting the release of their seventh record, ‘You’re Welcome’, the band have decided to share just what’s coming with their latest cut off the record, ‘Mindreader’.
This follows on from ‘Degenerates’ and ‘REsentment’ where the track has an accompanying animated video that tells the story of a man in a mental battle with his girlfriend who’s portrayed as a mystical physic woman.
On the track, frontman Jeremy McKinnon has said:
“We’ve had this video done for some time now, and seeing as how our album isn’t out yet and the state of the world is keeping us off the road, we wanted to get some new material out there for our fans as soon as possible.
This song was one of my personal favorites off the new album from the day it was written. I wrote it with the incredibly talented Mike Green. Fun fact, it was the first song I’ve ever sent the guys in the band that was unanimously loved. This song was written to be a lighthearted take on people in relationships expecting their partners to read their minds.”
Lastly, on the list for this weeks Roundup, we have Yours Truly. They have released ‘Composure’ which is there first taste of new music from the band since the release of their EP ‘Afterglow’ in 2019.
On the track Vocalist Mikaila Delgado has explained:
And that’s it for this week’s Music Video Roundup list. Be sure to check back next week for another look at what’s being released in the music world.

There have been some updates on Dance Gavin Dance’s upcoming record! It’s finished! Well not quite.
Tilian Pearson (Vocals) has confirmed via Twitter that Will Swan’s part on the instrumentation is done, but vocals are still being written and they’re expected to be tracked in October.
At the time of writing as well, it’s uncertain if the bands latest track ‘Head Hunter’ will feature on their upcoming record, or if it will remain as a standalone single.
It’s 4PM on a Friday! This means it’s time for the music video roundup. If you’re new to either the blog or these music video roundup posts, this is how it works. Every week, I watch some of the best recently released music videos and compile them into a list for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They’re span across all the different genres, so expect something different for most of the tracks. Up first are the Alternative rock trio Winchester who’ve just released a video for their fourth single off ‘Life Begins At These Dead Ends’. This track is for ‘Line Up’ which you can watch below.
Vocalist Adam Catalan has shared some thoughts on the message of the track.
“‘Line Up’ is the spiritual predecessor to our previous single, ‘Diamond’, and seems to come at an apt point in our timeline. We explore how similar the archetypes of the freedom fighter and the terrorist are and how dangerous revolution is when it comes back around. Time and time again we talk about THEM and US, instead of coming together in a loving way towards peace and understanding the reasons we feel the need to act out in violence.”
Up next are the furiously entertaining Dance Gavin Dance whom after their last animated adventure venture into the Wild West-themed video for the video in ‘Head Hunter’.
Going for some legends for the next pick of the video are Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. This fits in with their recent #abetterplaceforyouandme initiative with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and the band have released a second teaser for their upcoming record, ‘End Of Suffering’ which also looks to feature some footage from their latest UK tour.
On the track, Frank Carter has said:
“Whatever life is throwing at you right now, it will pass. Choose to let it hit you, or duck and watch it fly past much faster and off into your history, of which there have been many obstacles thrown your way and you have overcome them all.”
Who doesn’t love a good trip to the seaside eh? That’s exactly what Croydon Pop-Rockers Best Of Enemies have done as they travelled to Brighton in the video for their latest single, ‘Shake The Feeling’ which is the second off their upcoming EP, ‘A Fear That Comes Around’.
Returning to the Punkier vibe for the next choice of track, we have The Story So Far. The video takes everyone behind the scenes at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena where it features a Behind The Scenes look at the InSight lander touching down on Mars.
Moving back to British waters for this next pick, it’s Bournemouth. the emo rock newcomers Erica Drive are getting out there and going beyond their own scope of things, with their upcoming second EP as well as bringing their latest video in complete Monochrome for ‘Better Man’.
And I think we’d best keep up this monochrome for at least one video. Ahead of a US tour with the amazing Slow Crush, the post-metal band Holy Fawn have released a new video for the amazing track ‘Dark Stone’, taken off their debut full length record ‘Death Spells’ which was released via Triple Crown Records and Holy Roar Records.
Now, if you’ve been keeping an eye on the up and coming Knocked Loose, then you’ve certainly been patient people but, now the lads have released a huge new track, ‘Mistakes Like Fractures’ which is their first taste of new music since they released their 2016 record ‘Laugh Tracks’.
And going for a change in tone for the last two tracks, the first comes from the Aussie up and comers The Faim who’ve recently released their brand new track, ‘Amelie’, their second since the release of their debut EP in 2017. On the track, frontman Josh Raven has stated: “The concept behind ‘Amelie’ draws on the idea that everyone is born the same, but we become the people we are due to the influence of our surroundings. These influences can affect us both positively and negatively, but only we control the way we react to them.”
And lastly, we have Altered Sky. This is the first taste of new music since the release of their record ‘Without Wonderland’ in 2015! But the wait is finally over as we go into a new era of the Scottish Rockers, with the band gearing UK for a run of UK dates later this month. And if ‘Surrounded’ is anything to go by, things are going to get even better for Altered Sky’s future.
And that’s it for another week of music video roundup. Don’t forget to check back next week at 4PM sharp for another countdown of ten of the best recent music videos to feast your eyes upon. There’s also new posts every day on the Almost anything Media so be sure to check out anything that might catch your eye.
Hello everybody! Welcome to another entry in the Music Video top ten list. If you’re new to the posts then this is how it goes down. Every week, I find ten of the best music video releases out there and put them into a convenient list for everyone to enjoy. Let’s get started!
First band up in the list is Dance Gavin Dance! The band released their eighth record, ‘Artificial Selection’ last week and now have released a new entry in their ‘Robot With Human Hair’ series with a new addition in the form of, ‘Son Of Robot’
Teesside’s own Northshore are making a name for themselves on the up and coming markets. “For What It’s Worth” is the first single and title track from their upcoming EP, which is due for release February 15th.
Now, just before a UK will commence with the people in Ghost Bath, Danish band MOL have a new release with the title track of their debut record, ‘Jord’.
Another video to go with touring. Ahead of their first headline tour of the UK, Melbourne (Yes, another Aussie band) based Pagan have a very colourful track for the aptly named, ‘Imitate Me’. It’s off their full-length record, ‘Black Wash’ which was released earlier this year.
Back to Britain now, we’re going for InMe for the next choice of video. They have their seventh record, ‘Jumpstart Hope’ ready to unleash upon the world and they have a preview for you in ‘For Something To Happen’.
Onwards from a sold out co-headline London show at Thousand Island, Metalcore up and comers TheCityIsOurs have dropped a new video for a fantastic single, ‘Casket’.
London based group Calva Louise have been making a few announcements as of late. From their upcoming record to tour dates, there had to be a new music video. ‘I Heard A Cry” is complete with an energetic street chase and matches the liveliness of the track itself.
Now we get to Ohio for emo vets Hawthorne Heights. They’re busy at the moment supporting Silverstein on their ‘When Broken Is Easily Fixed’ 15th Anniversary tour but they have a new video out for ‘Crimson Sand’.
Memphis May Fire have a new record out very very soon and the Post-Hardcore/ Metalcore favourites have shared a brand new single out in celebration. ‘The Old Me: sees vocalist Matty Mullins covering up his wrongdoings when he tries to bury a body when the unexpected happens.
Lastly, we’re going for Yorkshire based band Heartsink. They’re doing pretty well for themselves at the moment and they have a fantastic new track in the form of “Same Old Lies” which was produced by the fantastic Sleepless Productions. Let’s take a look
And that’s it for another round of music videos for a week. Be sure to check out my other posts for music news, photo galleries of recent shows and interviews with musicians. I’ll see you next week everyone.
Better known for his co-fronting of the post-hardcore group Dance Gavin Dance, he also has a career as a solo artist and he’s getting started on the go for his third record, ‘The Skeptic’ which will be released via Rise Records on September 28th.
To kick things off, he’s released a video for the record’s lead single, ‘Cocky’ which sees him on a road trip throughout San Bernardino and Crestline, California.
