Five Finger Death Punch Confirm New Guitarist

Five Finger Death Punch have announced their new guitarist following the departure of Jason Hook.

In a message osted to their Instagram, they revealed they parted ways with Jason in February of this years after he had to miss shows due to his emergence gall bladder surgery.

Andy James has been announced as his replacement who played the shows that Jason missed. He also features on ‘Broken World’, which is one of the previously unreleased tracks on the band’s greatest hits compilation record, ‘A Decade of Destruction, Volume 2’.

The full statement can be read below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH confirms it parted ways with guitarist Jason Hook back in February 2020, during the band’s sold out European arena tour.

After his recovery from emergency gallbladder surgery at the end of last year, Jason had to leave midway from the band’s tour of Europe to address further complications.

“I have had the pleasure of meeting so many of you in person. Thank you for the endless stories of how our music has touched your heart in some way! But the best part of being on tour the last 12 years, by far, has been playing my guitar and seeing the joy on your faces every night. I will miss that more than anything. As far the reason I’m leaving…well, there really isn’t just one. I’ve been in bands my entire life and I feel like I’ve done all the good that I can here. It’s time to pass the baton and move on to new challenges” – Says Jason about his departure

5FDP have released 8 studio albums and two greatest hits compilations in 13 years and toured relentlessly. They are often called the “hardest working band in the industry” with very little personal time left outside of the band. At Jason’s suggestion, all parties came to a mutual agreement, that it’s best if he steps away from his rigorous band duties altogether. Consequently, Jason handed over the torch to the band’s new lead guitarist, renowned British virtuoso ANDY JAMES who is featured on “Broken World”, one of the five previously unreleased tracks on Decade of Destruction, Volume 2.

“Jason is an incredible guitar player so we had to find someone on the absolute top of their game. Someone like Andy James who was already a well-known virtuoso and had the chops to step into Jason’s shoes. Andy completed our European Tour with us back in February so he was already tried by fire. We instantly clicked both musically and personally so he was the obvious choice. We even have the same birthday… Some things are just meant to be,” explains Zoltan.

“I just congratulated Jason on his recent wedding, and I hope he finds peace and happiness. As for us, I’m really excited to keep working with Andy and I just can’t wait for this Covid madness to be over so we can go back out on the road,” adds Ivan.”

Papa Roach has had their latest record ‘Crooked Teeth for over half a year now and they’re still going strong, especially with this new video for ‘Traumatic’.

Now for the final video of 2017, this has been out for a little while now but I think it needs to be shown because of the theatrical nature of the music video but it’s a fantastic video to end 2017 on. Here’s A Statue Of The King from Avatar.

Five Finger Death Punch Respond To Lyrics Referenced In Russian State Media

Zoltan Bathory, the guitarist for the band Five Finger Death Punch has responded after lyrics of the band were referenced by Russian State Media, in an opinion piece about the politics of the west.

Written by Vladislav Surkov, an ally of the Russian president Vladimir Puting, he used lyrics from the track, ‘Wash It All Away’ to criticise the hypocrisy

This is what the guitarist responded with.

“Well…. let me just say…. It’s especially interesting that we just happened to be in Russia at the moment. We had a fantastic show at the Stadium in Moscow yesterday… The energy of the crowd was incredible.”

“We love our Russian fans just as much as they love us… They are at the airport when we arrive, follow us all over Europe, all the way to America, even to South America… We see their faces and we see their sawn together Half-Russian-Half-American flags everywhere… We are family… Music Unites….”

“I can tell you…. between the people … there is NO hate… there is NO cold war here… so let’s NOT make one.”

“I grew up on this side of the iron curtain in communism… so I have ACTUAL memories of the cold war…. Even back then… though we were told by the communist media that America was the “Enemy”… Nobody… and I mean nobody sane actually believed that…”

“We loved American Music, American culture… and the American people… We understood the difference between propaganda and reality…”

“Just as I ran into some Iranian kids in the elevator… as they were taking photos – they actually said – “please don’t believe the media” … they are lying to you! We don’t hate America… and they tried to explain that regular (especially younger) people don’t feel that way whatsoever…”

“The media needs to be responsible with their words – choosing ratings over peace is irresponsible.”

“So let’s tone down the hysteria and try harder with that dialogue…”

Five Finger Death Punch Release Statement.

Now, everyone remembers the other day Ivan Moody of FFDP said: “This is my last show with Five Finger Death Punch”.

This isn’t the case now as they’ve confirmed they’ll be playing tomorrow set at Nova Rock Festival in Austria, and they plan to fulfil all scheduled sets.

Now the band have released a statement on the matter, which can be read below.

“Those who have followed 5FDP from the beginning can tell you there has always been an element of danger and unpredictability in our music and in our shows. That’s rock ‘n’ roll. When you do over 150 shows in a year, you will inevitably have a few derailments, but the train always keeps on moving. Last night in Tilburg was one of those instances, but as they say, you aren’t a race car driver if you don’t wreck a car or two.

“We can’t wait to put on amazing shows tomorrow night at Nova Rock all the way to our just announced winter tour all over Europe.  See you all on the race track….bring a helmet….
