Gloo Release New Single, ‘Big Smoke’

Gloo have shared a bran new single, ‘Big Smoke’, which is off the band’s yet-to-be-announced upcoming sophomore record.

Mark Harfield (Drums) says:

“It’s so easy to romanticise life… daydreaming and think that moving to London, getting married or having a nice car can fix all your problems. From what I can see, these things are much more of a smokescreen than a remedy… so here’s 2 minutes and 25 seconds of me shouting about how much it annoys me.”

Stream ‘Big Smoke’ below.

More details on the bands second record will be confirmed as it develops.

Gloo Drop New Track ‘Down’

South Coast trio Gloo have dropped a new track, ‘Down’, which is set to appear on their yet-to-be-announced record.

Thomas Harfield (Vocals) says on the track:

“Yes, it’s another break-up song, but this is a new thing for Gloo… ‘Down’ is based around an experience that really shook me, and coming to terms with the reality of being alone again after a long term relationship. Ultimately, the song is about trying to be happy in yourself. The track was almost deleted from my voice memos until we played the riff as a band, immediately gaining the uplifting feel the song needed. It’s Gloo, whilst avoiding any depressing vibes wherever possible, and stood out while we were recording… hearing it back was our first glimpse at how good the session was going to be.”

Music Video Roundup 08/03/19

It’s Friday at 4PM! This means it’s time for the music video roundup. If you’re new to either the blog or these music video roundup posts, this is how it works. Every week, I watch some of the best recently released music videos and compile them into a list for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They’re span across all the different genres, so expect something different for most of the tracks. First up is someone with a love/hate relationship with everyone and that is Andy Black of the Black Veil Brides. Following the teasing, he’s announced his upcoming solo record, ‘The Ghost Of Ohio’, which is set to drop on April 12th 2019. Of that, the latest single, ‘Westwood Road’, has a video which you can see below.

Next up are the recently emerging duo Sadsun. They’re from the North East, namely Newcastle and they’ve introduced themselves in the best way possible in the form of their debut single, ‘Control’ which you can view below.

Who loves a good old fashioned performance in a music video? That’s exactly what Gloo are going for, in the video for their amazing track ‘Stop And Stare’. Check it out below.

Last year, The Dangerous Summer returned with the first record in five years but they aren’t any signs of the band slowing down in releasing new material. ‘Where Were You When The Sky Opened Up’ does pack a punch but is instantly different from their roots.

Now, do you enjoy weird Science experiments, neon glasses and creepy doctors? Well, Palisades new video for ‘Erase The Pain’ is the video for you! It’s taken from their fourth record, ‘Erase The Pain’, which was released at the end of 2018.

This is a huge new video. Crystal Lake have revealed a huge brand new video for ‘Devilcry’ It’s off their 2018 record, ‘HELIX’ for which they’re currently touring for in America with August Burns Red, Fit For A King and Miss May I. It’s heavy, techy and filled with lots of live footage.

One artist to watch this year is the ever fantastic Cory Wells. He’s about to tour, supporting the legendary William Ryan Key (Formally Yellowcard) and now has something for us to feast our eyes upon in the form of ‘Patience’

Who loves a good cover? I do. Pop-Punk kings New Found Glory have ‘From The Screen To Your Stereo 3’ dropping soon. This is their record where they cover trailers from films in feature-length films. The first track off this particular release is in the form of ‘The Power Of Love’ by Huey Lewis & The News, from the 1985 Sci-Fi classic, Back To The Future. Check out the video below.

A few weeks ago was Valentines Day, and there was a special collaboration between Yungblud, Halsey and Travis Barker (Blink-182). When the three were in Sydney together, they had to perform it live but now, there is a video for the track. Check it out below.

And now, we’re at the last track of this week’s Music Video countdown. Off their debut record, ‘One Of Us’, is the title track which features members of the band, Fever 333 in a protest. This is coming off one of the best records released so far this year and now, here is one of the best videos of the year so far in a march alongside the United Teachers of Los Angeles in support of their strike.

And that’s it for another week of music video roundups. Be sure to check back next week for another ten of the best right here at Almost Anything Media.

Music Video’s 18/05/18

Now I know I missed last week! I’ve been a little overwhelmed as of late but there is a list this week! But enough of me chatting away, here are my picks for recent music videos!

First up is August Burns Red. They’ve dropped a creepy new video for ‘King Of Sorrow’ but it is really amazing!

Now, Against The Current have recently announced a new era and with a new era comes new music… and new music videos. Check out the new era in Strangers Again.

Ahead of their upcoming visit to the UK next month, German rockers Alazka have released a video to accompany, ‘Everglow’, the latest cut from their debut record, ‘Phoenix’.

Next, New York deathcore group Emmure showcase a quite gruesome killing spree in their new video for ‘Ice Man Confessions’. The track was inspired by Richard Kuklinski, who’s most known as the Ice Man Killer whom frontman Frankie Palmeri plays.

Ahead of the release of their new record, ‘Reverence’ Aussie Hard-hitters Parkway Drive have dropped a new video for their track ‘Prey’. This is is the third single the band have released prior to their new record.

Like Moths To Flames are proving to be one’s to watch at the moment as the band have lifted a new video for ‘Empty The Same, the latest track from ‘Dark Divine’.

Moving to Sussex. The trio known as Gloo have revealed a new video off their debut record, ‘A Pathetic Youth’. This is the video for Holiday.

Palm Reader are another band to be watching and for good reason. Everyone is loving their dark, dreamlike tracks and now they have a new video which goes alongside that criteria. It’s taken off their third studio record, ‘Braille’ via Silent Cult Records.

As Chvrches get ready for the official release of their new record, Love Is Dead, they have now released a video for ‘Miracle’.

Lastly on the new video list is Varials. They’re coming off the back of the band’s record and the fantastic track for the last pick of this week is Empire of Dirt. It’s from their record, ‘Pain Again’ which was released via Fearless Records and you just have to watch it. I mean it.
