Music Video Roundup 01/03/19

Is it Friday already? That can only mean it’s 4PM! This it’s time for the music video roundup. If you’re new to either the blog or the roundup posts, this is how it works. Every week, I view some of the best recently released music videos and compile them into a list for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They’re span across all the different genres, so expect something different for most of the tracks. First up are the British collective known as Itoldyouiwouldeatyou as they debut a video for ‘Almost Zero’ which is apparently inspired by a short story written by senior Putin advisor Vladislav Surkov.

Next up, hailing from Findlay, Ohio are the ever fantastic September Stories who’ve been teasing music over the past few months and now they have something to put to all that teasing. Check out The Calm, The Storm below.

Next is a band whose name is a little questionable but we’ll go with it. They’re called High Reeper. The five-man band plays stoner-rock but sometimes these bands can be highly addictive. It’s fun and infectious and you can check out the video for ‘Bring The Dead’ below.

Moving onto some legends in the scene, AFI released a brand new EP in 2018, titled as ‘The Missing Man’. On that, was some of their best material they’ve produced and now, the band have recently released a video for ‘Get Dark’, which is reminiscent of a David Lynch film.

Now, the next video is from a mans name you could be familiar with. It’s none other than ‘Mat Kerekes, better known as the frontman of Citizen. He’s got a solo release, ‘Ruby’ out soon and now, he has a video to show us all for the track, ‘Diamonds’.

Moving over to British Columbia now, this is a band who’s been tipped to watch and they are the metal trio, Spiritbox. Their latest EP came in 2017 and this is their latest offering since said EP and that is the track, Belcarra. Check out the video below.

Shall we go animated for the next video? Our Last Night have recently announced their new record, ‘Let Light Overcome’ which is set to be released on March 8th. But until then, we have a great new video for ‘Demons’ which you can check out below.

The latest signing from Manchester is a band called Parting Gift. They’ve just recently signed with Fearless Records and bringing out a brand new EP, ‘Ensom’ which will be released at the end of March. On the track, ‘Pale’, frontman Zac Vernon has said:  “Pale is the emptiness one cannot escape. It returns when the mind is idle. It seeks no endgame. It lives and breathes pain & it is the opposite of love. In Pale, the sacred grounds appear for the first time.”

With Holding Absence just about to head out to tour all over the place, you need to get hyped for it right? Well, they have a fantastic video for the powerful track, ‘You Are Everything’ and it just shows how great a show of theirs can be.

And we’ve come to the last track of this week’s Music Video countdown. Stand Atlantic released their latest record, ‘Skinny Dipping’ last year and it was one of the records of the year for me. On that record, they had plenty of anthems, bangers but one stood out from the rest as it was a real emotional track. That track is ‘Toothpick’ which just shows how great they are as a band.

And that’s it for another week of music video roundups. Be sure to check back next week for another ten of the best right here at Almost Anything Media.

Music Videos 19/10/18

Hello everybody! It’s that time of the week again, Friday. It’s every Friday I release a list of the ten best recent music videos from the Rock genre so I can give it to you, my followers and hopefully discover someone new! Kicking things off this week’s list is metal trio Spiritbox, who’ve returned with another fantastic single, ‘Electric Cross’.

Moving to someone I know you probably won’t have heard of is Yorkshire group Hands Off Gretel as they bring the S.A.S.S in their new music video where they take over a hotel room for themselves! I should mention it was directed and edited by their vocalist Lauren Tate as well!

Next up are some personal favourites of my own, Chapter And Verse. It’s a good release, following on from ‘A Devil In Blue’ and ‘Magazines’. but frontman Josh Carter has said the following on the track: ‘Ink’ is about feeling disillusioned with adulthood and the dangers that lie in obsessing over self-improvement. The song is unlike anything we’ve done before and we’ve been really embracing the evolution of what we do. Chapter And Verse have become a vessel for us to properly embrace life and for us, this song serves as a reminder that focusing only on how to be happy can actually give you the opposite outcome.”

And adding another British group to this week follow is the collective, itoldyouiwouldeatyou. They’ve just released something new in the form of ‘Young American’, the latest release from their debut record, ‘Oh Dearism’.

Fueled by Ramen artist Grandson has shared a new video for ‘6:00″, taken from his debut release, a modern tragedy vol.1. The video was released in conjunction with Campaign Zero, an Organisation dedicated to eradicating police violence in America.

Time for a return. this is in the form of slam metallers Arcania as they have reunited and released a brand new track, ‘Exterminate The Liberated’. It’s off their soon to be released EP, ‘Tyrannical Hierarchy: Vol.1.

Something new from some legends right now. We all need them and this is from the legendary group The Smashing Pumpkins. Things get a little freaky.

And we’re keeping going with some pretty good releases at the moment. The next video comes from the four-piece rock group, Dead Friends. Vocalist Austin Radford has shared:

“I think subconsciously people feel like we need our lives to be defined by something comprehensible – anything from political or religious affiliation to a job or a favourite sports team. ‘Torches’ is about clinging too closely to those life-defining elements, and the devastating realization that you’re not a complete person without them.”

And for the second to last video, something just a little more cinematic as we get toward the end of this weeks list. This can only be Underoath’s newest video for ‘ihateit’.

And this week I certainly have saved the best for last. Bullet For My Valentine recently dropped the video for ‘Not Dead Yet’ a video which was shot following Summersonic earlier this year in Japan.

And that’s it for another round of music videos this week. Be sure to check out next weeks post of the ten latest and greatest music videos of the week.

New Music Videos 3.10.14

You thought I forgot??? Not this week. It’s time for another round of music videos! Ten of the best from the last week’s releases. Here we go.

First up is Our Last Night. These New Hampshire rockers have released a stunning new video for their track, ‘Ivory Tower’, which comes from their latest record, Selective Hearing.

Now, we go to Hertfordshire. This post-hardcore band just released this track as a self-released single. They’re called ‘Chocolate’ and this is their brilliant new track, Ninth Cloud.

Next, we’re going a little retro for Turnover’s new video. This track is taken from the bands latest record, ‘Good Nature’ which was released in August through Run For Cover Records. Here’s Super Natural.

Now, we move to something a little more spooky (given that Halloween has been this week. This is Courage My Love and this track from their newest record, ‘Synesthesia’ which was released in February on Warner Music Canada. Check out their claustrophobic video for the track ‘Walls’ below.

For this band, we’re coming back to the British Isles. They are due to go out on an Arena tour of the UK next month and their second record, ‘How Did We Get So Dark’ was met with critical acclaim. This is the title track from the record from Royal Blood.

Now this next British band dropped the track to acclaim from many but the track always makes you want to find and listen to more because of its huge sound. With these trippy visuals for the track, The Free Life, Turbowolf can do no wrong.

Let’s turn our attention to some up and comers. This rock outfit called Track And Field will be releasing their debut album in a few weeks but now they’re gearing up for its release with this new video. Here’s Drown.

Going to the capital next, (London) for this indie-punk group whose name is a little mouthful (itoldyouiwouldeatyou). This comes released by Failure By Design Records and is one that catches you just that little bit off guard. Here’s ‘Mourn’.

We’ve reached the penultimate video of this post and the sound comes reminiscent of early Pop-Punk. so think Green Day, Blink 182 etc. This band hails from Berlin and are the newest signings of Krod Records. This is South Berkley with ‘Tiny Rascals’.

Now, this last track comes from a band who has arisen once again! This comes from the Yorkshire rockers; Skarlett Riot who have just dropped their new record, ‘Regenerate’. If you have had any doubt about this band in the past, then this video for their new single ‘Warrior’ will put your mind at ease.

And that’s it for another round of music videos. Don’t forget to check back next week for another ten of the best.
