German Quartet KID DAD have released a music video for their new track ‘Hello?’ which features on their new EP ‘Bloom‘.
‘Hello?’ dances between inner cold and warm melancholy. It’s a song that sounds like a rainy night in which you barely make it home and need to use the very last of your mental strength to do so. With darkness comes doubts, loneliness, and longing. You need someone to talk to in order to cope, but noone picks up the phone. All you can hear is the monotone dialtone. But it comforts you and you feel less alone.
‘Bloom’ is a bouquet of five very different flowers that blossom into very different colours. “‘Bloom’ is our epochal change – from surrealism to pop-art.” say the band.
Vocalist and guitarist Marius Vieth adds, “Bloom contains the best songs we have written so far and we are extremely proud of our team that have supported us and are very thankful for everything they have made possible for us. We hope that this EP is the key to more in the future. More people, more interaction, and more love!”

Paderborn, Germany’s KID DAD have released a third track, ‘Wire & Guns‘, from their upcoming EP ‘Bloom’ – out 10th December via Long Branch Records – alongside a powerful music video.
The band’s recent singles ‘Apartment‘ and ‘As Soon As America’ showed a whole new side of the band, both musically and lyrically, moving away from the usual distorted guitars and exploring the indie/pop landscape more… However, ‘Wire & Guns’ sees KID DAD return to their roots: Brute guitars, pounding drums, and crackling emotions. Accompanied by a music video filled with a lightning performance that sees the band stunningly release their pent up fears.
There are moments when your own thoughts are the worst place on earth to be and ‘Wire & Guns’ sounds like that exact moment when love turns into insanity. When you feel misunderstood, not heard or seen, ignored or rejected, it’s often hard to control your own impulses and the line between what reality and what you are imagining becomes blurred. This new track sets these feelings to tune.
First, the synthesizers relentlessly push forward and the lyrics tell the story of grinding self-doubt. Shortly after, the bass-drum is added and the long awaited outburst finally sets in. Distorted guitars and desperate vocals then take over the song in which the poetic persona further loses itself in an obsession with deserving to be loved.
But the situation seems pointless: “My head’s just my torso’s crown / so I’m the king of my body / take it off me.”

Hello everyone! Welcome back to the new music video roundup. We’re here for a roundup of ten of the best recently released music videos. They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music!
First up this week, I’ve selected the Boston, Massachusetts heavy hitters Vein (Whom now have appeared to have changed their name to Vein.fm.).
Their track, ’20 Seconds : 20 Hours’ is a reworked version of ‘Untitled’ from their 2018 debut record, ‘Errorzone’ and appears on their newly released compilation, ‘Old Data In a New Machine’.
‘Old Data In A New Machine, Vol. 1’ is out right now digitally with a physical released scheduled for late September via Closed Casket Activities.
Heading off straight for the Dublin up and comers Jet Fuel Chemistry, the Quartet haev released a video for ‘Sleep’ which is a track off their upcoming EP, ‘Sign Of The Times’ which was released today.
On ‘Sleep’ the band have said:
“‘Sleep’ is the second track on the EP, with a focus on the exacerbating of isolation and mental illness by social media. It’s paradoxical that the more time we spend “connected” to one another, the more alone we feel.
All in all, the world is a really chaotic and fucked up place right now and if we’d written a release without this tone we’d feel dishonest and, frankly, there’s every chance we’d have gone insane. People need to stop vilifying each other, and instead unite to hold those with power accountable for our misery. It’s a positive message that we hope anyone can get behind.”
We’re going to switch things up right now in the format and switch to a live video for this next choice.
While the majority of the metal community are enjoying the premiere of the Wacken World Wide XR live streams in this pandemic-struck summer, Ukrainian heavy hitters Jinjerare celebrating the one-year anniversary of their groundbreaking Wacken Open Air 2019 performance by unleashing a blistering live video of their breakthrough song, “Pisces”, captured at the festival.
“Pisces” is the second track released from this show, with “Perennial” being the first released from the Wacken sessions – boasting over 3.2 million views and counting.
Next continuing the heavier sounds we have the sextet Oceans Of Slumber with their video for ‘The Colours Of Grace’, the new track taken from their upcoming self-titled record.
Mike Moss of Antimatter also features on this track, another reason to check this one out.

Who wants some German Rock? That’s what you don’t hear a lot of these days. German bands. I guess some just don’t make it across sometimes but I’m so glad this next band Kid Dad has come to my attention.
‘What You Call A Dream’ is the latest single from the German four-piece Kid Dad. It’s pacy and powerful with an energetic lead riff. It demonstrates the band’s punkier side, following on from ‘Limbo’ and ‘A Prison Unseen’, and reflects their playful preferences with the use of delays, and the interaction between distorted and clean signals.
‘What You Call A Dream’ was a spontaneous jam that came naturally to the band and was written in just an hour.“Marius, Michi, and I were in the rehearsal room at some point and hadn’t actually planned on writing a song. The whole thing went faster than we ever thought it was possible. Everything came together without us having to think twice about what would happen next,” says Max (bass, backing vocals).
Marius (vocals, guitar) says of the upcoming album, “We are not linear, easy to calculate or predictable. We are individual human beings who react individually. Nobody is allowed to determine what to be afraid of and what to look forward to. Nobody except oneself. Nobody knows everything about themselves – we are definitely still battling with questions. One may even sometimes wonder why one is the way one is – we definitely do. You are not alone and this album is meant to help you understand that.”
‘In A Box’, which is the bands debut record is set to be release 21st August 2020 via Long Branch Records.
We’re getting the miles in for this weeks roundup aren’t we? Good, because we’re heading right over to Australia for Yours Truly.
The Pop-Punks have shared another taste off their upcoming debut record, ‘Self Care’ in the form of their latest video, ‘Undersize’.
Where the rest of Self Care largely looks inward at Mikaila conquering her own personal struggles, ‘Undersize’ finds the vocalist looking on at a friend going through battles of their own.
“This song is really a letter to a close friend of mine,” she explains. “While watching them navigating their life through all the ups, downs and obstacles life throws at them, I wrote this just to let them know that I’m here for them through all of that.”
The release follows a monumental few weeks for the four-piece, who upon announcing details of their record ‘Self Care’, were revealed as the newest addition to Select Agency’s huge roster of clients, as well as the latest hand picked guest for triple j’s famed Like A Version segment.
‘Self Care’ is set to be released September 18th 2020 via UNFD.

We’re just going to places I haven’t thought of in a while. I think that’s just the theme for this weeks roundup.
We’re in Idaho next for Young, Planetary where they’ve recently debuted a video for their latest single, ‘Separate Rides Home’.
The band tells Outburn; “The video was shot by our good friend and photographer / honorary fifth member of the band, Kenyon McWilliams. It felt so strange to be working on a music video but not being able to be in the same room as the rest of the band. Luckily, we were able to put something together that’s not only, “socially distant,” but also very visually appealing and exciting. Most of it was shot in our bass player’s backyard, but a good chunk of it was also done at Table Rock here in Boise.”
Regarding the inspiration for the song, Trevor Villagrana (vocals/guitar) says, “When an old girlfriend of mine and I split up, we did what a lot of couples do and tried to meet up and talk things out. We would go to this restaurant that we used to eat at all the time when we were together and do our best to salvage the feelings we had for one another. After a few times of meeting up, we had stacked up these garage receipts from where we would park our cars. But no matter how much we talked, we could never make it work. We would end up walking back to our cars to “take our separate rides home,” so to speak. It’s tough admitting defeat in situations like that.”
The band’s upcoming EP ‘Locations I Can’t Place’ will be released on August 7 via Hidden Home Records.
We’re heading into another self titled EP territory, this time with the Illinois Pop-Punkers Wilmette with the video for their latest track, ‘A D D E R A L L’, which is the first single off the band’s upcoming release set to debut on September 25th 2020 via Mutant League Records.
Peyton Day (bass/vocals) tells Alternative Press: “This video is supposed to be the epitome of hindsight in a relationship. As the aliens rummage through the crashed spaceship, they find a log of events that detailed how the astronauts crashed into their planet. They know they were too late in helping, and all they can do is watch the aftermath. Only two-fifths of the group come back, signifying a change in their reality, while the aliens are obviously unscathed.”
Heading back to Australia for the latest video from Stand Atlantic, ‘Blurry’ continues the story started in ‘Jurassic Park’.
There’s definitely a much darker and disturbing vibe to ‘Blurry’ than previous videos which shows how the same place can look through a different set of eyes. Nevertheless, it continues the amazing streak of content Stand Atlantic have been releasing into the world in anticipation of their record,’Pink Elephant’., which was released today (August 7th 2020) via Hopeless Records.
Creeper have done a massive job with their concept record, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’. The record released last week via Roadrunner Records and at the time of writing (which is a few days in advanc), it’s sitting at the number two position in the midweek UK Albums Chart.
The visuals they created for the record though, have been amazing. It’s truly a concept record in every meaning of the word where they’ve created a engaging narrative which spans everything they could possibly do.
In the narrative of the music videos which was set in motion in ‘Poisoned Heart’, is now complete in the form of ‘Born Cold’ in our last pick of the week for the Music Video Roundup.
