Heavy metal titans LAMB OF GOD have joined forces with MEGADETH to remake the bands classic track ‘Wake Up Dead’.
Originally released in 1986, “Wake Up Dead” was the lead single from MEGADETH’s iconic multi-platinum selling album Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?.
And now, one week before the second installment of the US leg of their co-headline tour TheMetal Tour of the Year is set to commence… LAMB OF GOD releases “Wake Up Dead” featuring Dave Mustaine and the members of MEGADETH. LAMB OF GOD vocalist D. Randall Blythe, guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler, bassist John Campbell and drummer Art Cruz recorded the MEGADETH classic remotely and recruited the MEGADETH frontman himself to feature guitar and vocals on the song.

There’s two bands whom have come together for an amazing cover track!
Lamb Of God and Jason Butler of Fever 333 are the two bands that have teamed up for a live performance of ‘Bad Brains ‘I Against I’.
“The idea to cover I Against I goes back at least 20 years to a camping trip the band was on,” explains LoG’s Randy Blythe. “Mark [Morton, guitar] and I were sitting in the back of our buddy’s Jeep ripping through the mountains, Bad Brains was cranking on the stereo, and I was singing along to that particular song. Mark looked over at me and said, ‘We should cover that tune.’ So we thought about it for a couple of decades and finally got around to doing it for the Burn The Priest Legion: XX record – hey, sometimes we move a little slow…
“As we all know, this pandemic has sucked for live music, but the quarantine jams bands have been doing have been pretty fun, especially when you bring in guests,” the frontman continues. “I saw FEVER 333 for the first time at the Sonic Temple fest – I had never listened to them, but I was blown away by their live show. I remember thinking, ‘Man, these dudes are wild; their energy reminds me of the punk shows I saw in the ’80s and I’ve been friends with those dudes from that day. I even texted Darryl from Bad Brains that afternoon to tell him to check them out. It was only natural to ask Jason to join us and bring that energy to this song by the almighty Bad Brains, my favourite band of all time.”
Jason adds: “It is truly an honour to be a part of this one as I have the utmost respect for Randy and the boys since becoming homies after having my mind blown when I looked over at the side of the stage at Sonic Temple Fest and saw him watching us play. It’s been a pleasure getting to know him and an honour to rock LoG celebrating one of the most important punk rock/musical acts of all time, Bad Brains. From legends to legends to the student. All love.”

The first trailer for Paradise City, the spin off TV series of the film American Satan has landed. The series features Black Veil Brides’ Andy Biersack and Asking Alexandria’s Ben Bruce showing off their acting chops – is based on “the lives of a rock star with ties to the occult and a young rookie kid who idolises him collide through their broken homes built by the music business”.
The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in March.
Creator, writer and director Ash Avildsen (who also founded Sumerian Records) reveals of Paradise City in a director’s note: “More than one in four American kids grow up without a father in their home.
“For kids that grow up with one parent, you can go on one of two paths: you can blame the world, your parents, blame God, blame lack of God, or it can light a fire under you that you’re gonna make it no matter what. Paradise City is the show made to inspire these millions of teenagers and young adults. It reminds us that there is no light without darkness, that sorrow and heartbreak can be the greatest drivers of art. It reminds us that there is always hope, that you are never alone and that music is always there if you let it be.
“Almost everything in Paradise City is inspired by real events I have experienced growing up in an unorthodox single mom household as a kid estranged from his famous father and then my adult life becoming self-made in the ruthless music industry. Supernatural elements that have guided and misguided my life ever since moving to Los Angeles are also prevalent throughout the tale.”
Joining Andy and Ben in the star-studded show are fellow rock and metal artists like Slipknot’s Sid Wilson, Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe and Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn, while other members of the cast include Cameron Boyce, Bella Thorne, Drea De Matteo, Mark Boone Jr, Fairuza Balk and BooBoo Stewart.
First off I do apologise again that there was no music video roundup or new music roundup post last week. As stated in the New Music post, my store had come out of lockdown and due to the hours I was taking up, there was very little time which I could contribute to the blog last week.
Now, moving onto this weeks roundup of ten of the best recently released music videos and sometimes a little information that comes with them! They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music (videos)!
First up this weeka re the British starrs Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes with a previously unreleased track which has not seen the light of day for over half a decade!
It was originally recorded for their 2015 record, ‘Blossom’ but never made the cut for the release. But, to celebrate the anniversary, they’re re re- releasing the record as an extended deluxe edition, including the new track in it’s listing.
Keeping things British for at least this track is the emo quintet Creeper where they have an animated video for the track, ‘Be My End’. This is off their upcoming record ‘Sex, Death & The Intimate Void’, which is set to be released next month.
Will Gould (Vocals) says: “‘Be My End’ is the opening song on our new album ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’. Thematically it introduces the ‘apocalyptic romance’ that the album deals in. The music video marks the first time the band have used animation to tell its story. Calvary Falls is realised in its full glory as our narrative hurtles towards its conclusion. This is the band in a way you’ve never seen it before.”
Stepping into Pop-Punk territory where you get a 2 in 1 video because this features some guest vocals from Derek Sanders of Mayday Parade! This is Knuckle Puck whom have a video off their upcoming record, ’20/20′ set for a release date of September 18th 2020 via Rise Records. Check out ‘Breathe’ below.
Compilation Footage ahead! Originally set to have a video of live footage for this Dream State video, the shift had to go to the band asking fans to send in footage of them singing along to the track for ‘Are You Ready To Live?’
This really does work for the video as well, possibly better than any live footage could do.
CJ Gilpin (Vocals) comments on the track:
“We all at some point in our lives hit rock bottom, and the only road from there is one of change – only you can really pick yourself up and find the meanings that fit you. To be a fully whole being, you must first conquer your fears and pain by yourself; this life is the journey of self and no one can live it like you. No one will see it like you. Are you ready to live?'”\
For another latest release, Misery Signals gives the world a taste of what’s to come off their upcoming record, ‘Ultraviolet’ which is set to be release on August 7th 2020 via Basick Records.
Frontman Jesse Zaraka says:
“It is a record that purveys a much greater sense of hope than those that preceded it, and I think that as older individuals this was important from the onset of the process. I tried to create a Misery Signals record that was lyrically more positive than the previous outings, something that I could get behind as a father. Though there still exists a fair amount of tension and darkness, there shines a great amount more light.”
Moving forward in this weeks list, we have Broadside with their most recent track to come out, ‘Heavenly’ which is off their upcoming record, ‘Into The Raging Sea’.
It’s a love filled track which is a change of pace from the darker aspects they’ve been showing lately.
“’Heavenly’ is just a cute song. Sonically, it’s rooted in our old sound…the one that got us to the place where we are today. It’s a love song and an ode to our first single ‘Coffee Talk.’ Underneath the ‘big picture’ I try and paint into my lyrics, I’m still just a romantic to the core.”
Shifting gears to the Post-Hardcore quintet Slaves, they have released a video for ‘Like I Do’, which is the closing track off their upcoming ‘To Better Days’ record. This is set to be released August 5th 2020 via SBG records.
Heading over to Wichita as we move closer to the end of this week’s list is the Post – Hardcore troupe Revisionist, which was initially premiered on Dead Press. ‘Salient Rite’ is the first track to be released since last year’s ‘Culling’ record.
The track was produced by Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie where Joshua Barbee (Guitar) comments:
“‘Salient Rite’ really focuses on the hardships and struggles we as people go through. How much better one becomes as they deal and learn from the situations. How it affects your circle and elevates as a whole.”
Now we enter the ever growing world of Palaye Royale. The track, ‘Anxiety’ is off their recently released, ‘The Bastards’ record via Sumerian Records which follows on where their previous video, ‘Lovely’ left off which is as dramatic, explosive and hard-hitting as you could get. And best of all, Remington directed it!
And for the final music video of this weeks list, we have the ever explosive gods, Lamb Of God. ‘Gears is off their self-titled record, which was released in June.
Mick Morton states:
“The day has finally arrived! We are absolutely thrilled to be releasing our new, self-titled album today. We’re all so proud of this collection of songs and feel like they rival some of our best work. As a band, we have a reawakened energy and a renewed creative spark that is evident in these songs and pulses through the entire album. Everyone involved in this project is beyond anxious for the world to hear it. We hope you enjoy it and we thank you for your support!.”
And that’s it for another week of a countdown of the best singles out in the world in the last week. Be sure to check back next-time for another round of great music videos. If you have any suggestions for me to check out, be sure to send an email or message us via the socials on Facebook or Twitter!
The heavy metal giants known as Lamb Of God have teamed up with the Scottish brewery and pub chain BrewDog to create a brand new non-alcoholic beer called ‘Ghost Walker’.
The drink is the world’s first non-alcoholic collaboration beer, with less than 0.5% alcohol. The Tropical aromas harmonise with grassy, pine notes, all sitting on a solid malt baseline.
The beer is also named after one of the bands popular track, ‘Ghost Walking’ which is off the 2012 record, ‘Resolution’. Coincidentally Randy Blythe (vocals) wrote the lyrics as he started to work towards an alcohol-free lifestyle.
The drink is available to purchase now to ship anywhere in the world via BrewDog’s official website and will later be available to gig-goers in attendance for Lamb Of God shows in North America and the EU once the coronavirus quarantine measures have been lifted and touring can resume again
We’re having to wait a tiny little bit longer to hear Lamb Of God’s upcoming record as their self-titled release has been pushed back to June 2020.
The record’s release date has been pushed back due to shipping issues with Coronavirus meaning that postal services are prioritising essential goods over anything else. As a result of this, physical records are understandably subject to delay where Lamb Of God have decided to push back the release date in order to ensure those who pre-ordered the record receive theirs on time.
In a statement made by the band, they have said:
“Regrettably, we have to announce that the release date for our upcoming self-titled album is being moved five weeks, to June 19. We’re in extraordinary times due to the current global reality and the delay of shipments of all-but essential goods needed in the fight against COVID-19. After talks with our labels, there is no other option than to delay the release so that fans who pre-ordered the album can receive the record they paid for.
“We appreciate your patience during these times – a global pandemic is not something people in the music industry usually take into account when scheduling album releases, but as you know, this thing has affected everyone across the board, and we are no exception,” they continue, adding that a brand-new song, New Colossal Hate, will be coming out this Thursday, April 23.
In addition, the band will release a fourth track from the record before its release.
“Thank you for your understanding,” they add. “Wash your damn hands, let us know what you think of the new tunes, and see you on the road sometime!”
