Guitarist and songwriter Greg Mackintosh comments:
“This song is almost 30 years old and its popularity amongst our fans, old and new, still amazes us. It marked a turning point in our career and if you missed it, here it is played live at The Mill.”

Tired of sunshine, singing birds and all these smiling people around? Good.
PARADISE LOST have just the right amount of misery and grimness at hand for you and are ready to release the testimony of last year’s intimate streaming event “At The Mill” today, to herald this year’s autumn.

Captured at The Mill Nightclub near the band’s hometown in Yorkshire, England, the recording of the BluRay was directed by Ash Pears, mixed by Les Smith and mastered by Jaime Gomez Arellano, and unites the band’s greatest songs of the past 30 years in one show.

SUBWAY TO SALLY Releases Second Single + Live-Video for “IX” (feat. Saltatio Mortis)

When two greats of the German folk rock and medieval scene get together, there’s nothing but magic taking place – not even a prevailing pandemic can change that! Today, SUBWAY TO SALLY drop their captivating performance of the Saltatio Mortis hit “IX”, cut from the band’s upcoming, unique Blu-Ray/DVD/CD highlight, Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark, out June 18, 2021 via Napalm Records.

The original song can be found on the Saltatio Mortis full-length Das Schwarze Einmaleins (2013) and is now captured for eternity, presented by both bands as an exclusive version on Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark.

We covered ‘IX’ and put it into our very own SUBWAY TO SALLY version. Our long-time companions from Saltatio Mortis wanted us to cover the song for a bonus CD that’s part of their album Zirkus Zeitgeist (2015). Within a short time, the track became very popular amongst our fans and even pushed a few of our classics out of our streaming top 5 temporarily. After a joint tour playing the track together with Saltatio Mortis, we enjoyed it so much that we decided to keep it in our regular live set for some time. Or in other words: a Saltatio Mortis cover version became part of the SUBWAY TO SALLY set! I don’t think there can be a better alliance within our scene and so we were really looking forward to performing the song again with our friends at Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark.“

check out the Live Video for ‘IX’ below.

SUBWAY TO SALLY’s annual Eisheilige Nacht concert goes virtual with exciting special guests!

Chart-breaking German folk rock institution SUBWAY TO SALLY demonstrate their exceptional live presence once more, carving a unique stage experience in stone with the upcoming release, Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark. In an intimate setting, the Potsdam based unit drops a colorful bunch of songs taken off their multifaceted discography and invites its listeners to be part of an exciting adventure! Supported by many great artists (Saltatio MortisSchandmaulFeuerschwanzChris Harms/Lord Of The Lost, MajorVoicePatty Gurdy), SUBWAY TO SALLY created an unforgettable evening that offers numerous surprises and specials neither seen nor heard until now.

SUBWAY TO SALLY on Eisheilige Nacht – Back to Lindenpark:
After 11 years of our “EISHEILIGE NACHT-tradition”, we definitely did not want that 2020 will be seen as a red “X” in the history of our festival series. So we thought about how we could provide our fans with the EISHEILIGE NACHT feeling at their homes, when we weren’t allowed to tour ourselves. An online concert wasn’t enough for us: EISHEILIGE NACHT is not only about meeting friends, but also being a highlight of the year – with several befriended bands performing live on stage. We wanted to implement all of this in one experience. We wanted to record this very special event where the EISHEILIGE NACHT originally began. Instead of playing a concert in an empty hall, we used the size of the hall, lined up in a circle and placed our guest musicians into our midst. This created new insights that have never been seen before in any SUBWAY TO SALLY concert film! We are very pleased that we can now, as requested by countless fans, record this event for eternity as a special concert film!”

Christopher Bowes about Live in Tilburg:
“Oh wow! Live concerts! Remember those? Nah, me neither. Anyway, a  couple of years ago we played a giant show at the 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands. It was a whole lot of fun. We even filmed the whole thing. And when we released the recording for free on YouTube last year, a whole bunch of you said you really liked it. And being the treasure-hungry sellout pirates that we are, it made us realize we could  probably convince a bunch of you to buy it if we wrapped it in plastic and stuck it in a big wooden box. We even added some low-effort bonus features. Enjoy!”

Excellently produced and mixed by the renowned Lasse Lammert, who has already been involved in ALESTORM’s studio albums Curse Of The Crystal Coconut, No Grave But The SeaSunset On The Golden Age and many more, Live in Tilburg features an amazing mix of ALESTORM’s most beloved hits like “Drink“, “Mexico”“Alestorm”“Hangover”“The Sunk’n Norwegian” and of course, “Fucked With An Anchor”.

The live album will be available on splatter-colored double-LP with a slipmat and a patch, as well as on mint colored and golden colored vinyl. The special edition of Live in Tilburgcomes in a wooden box, along with a CD+DVD, a mediabook and a 7-inch vinyl  featuring two new acoustic ALESTORM cover songs! Live in Tilburg’s immersive experience is the true definition of what ALESTORM is all about – an endless fountain of foot-stomping, riff-busting, piratical singalong fun. Live Nation To Test Drive-In Concerts

As the world is adapting to the music industry life in the wake of COVID-19, Live Nation is rumored to be testing drive-in concerts alongside over options.

The concert production company, which is the largest of its kind in the world has seen 9,000 of its concerts impacted by the pandemic since the outbreak where it’s been approximated that 90% of fans are holding onto their tickets rather than seek their refund.

Michael Rapino was interviewed by Variety recently where he spoke about how the company plans to bring back concert and festivals.

An excerpt of the interview can be read below.

“So over the next six months, we’ll be starting slow and small, focusing on the basics and testing regionally. But whether it’s in Arkansas or [another] state that is safe, secure and politically fine to proceed in, we’re going to dabble in fan-less concerts with broadcasts and reduced-capacity shows, because we can make the math work.

There are a lot of great artists that can sell out an arena, but they’ll do higher-end theaters or clubs. So you’re gonna see us [gradually reopening] in different countries, whether it’s Finland, Asia, Hong Kong — certain markets are farther ahead [in the recovery process]. Over the summer there will be testing happening, whether it’s fan-less concerts, which offer great broadcast opportunities and are really important for our sponsorship business; drive-in concerts, which we’re going to test and roll out and we’re having some success with; or reduced-capacity festival concerts, which could be outdoors in a theater on a large stadium floor, where there’s enough room to be safe.

We think in the Fall, if there are no second hotspots, you’ll see markets around the world [reopening] — Europe, specifically, has talked about opening up 5,000-plus [gatherings] in September. And on the venue side, we’re dealing with federal, the White House, every government body you can imagine, and we’ve got a great task force around what we have to do with the venue to make you safe.

So I think in the Fall you’ll see more experimenting and more shows happening in a theater setting, into some arenas. And then our goal is really to be on sale in the third and fourth quarters for 2021 at full scale.”

There has been one drive-in concert which was already tested in Denmark which saw singer/songwriter Mads Langer play to an audience of cars where his performance was transmitted via FM Radio to those in attendance. IT’s the first in a series of live events planned for the space.

More details on how concerts may begin making their way back during the COVID-19 crisis will be confirmed as they continue to develop.
