Muttering Release New Track, ‘This Is Eden’

London-based indie/alt-rock three-piece MUTTERING have released new track ‘This is Eden’; the third track from their debut album ‘Great.’ set for release on 9th September via Beth Shalom Records.

“‘This is Eden’ is about finding comfort in simple things, like watching things change with the seasons, but acknowledging that these beautiful moments are ever harder to find,” says vocalist Chaz Bush on the new track. “Those woods you remember as a child will be a motorway soon. That independent cafe is now a Starbucks. Your favourite craft beer company is owned by Budweiser. Your clothes were made in a sweat shop. We didn’t expect Eden, but there’s got to be more than this…” he adds.

The band’s upcoming debut album ‘Great.’ comes from a place of disparity and frustration. Blessed to live in a country that has so many opportunities but still watching incapable liars lead us to our doom, every opportunity to display empathy and understanding being missed, leaving no real future for the people. ‘Great.’ is about maintaining human connection in a world that feels harsher and lonelier than ever.

MUTTERING Release New Music Video For ‘Good Luck’

Brand new Indie-rock trio MUTTERING have released a beautiful new track ‘Good Luck’, the second to be revealed from their upcoming debut EP ‘Don’t Think About It’, set for release 9th April via Failure By Design Records.

The contemplative composition, which follows the darkly brooding ‘Swim’, challenges listeners to consider:

“What if the worst predictions did come true? What if all of them were laid bare for us to see? No ifs or maybes. No ‘well someone will come up with something’. Would you think it was so crazy to have believed this would happen all along? How would these ideas be addressed if the people who had the biggest platforms stood up for something important and tried to help the people that they rode on, rather than hindering them?”

The band refer to their upcoming debut EP ‘Don’t Think About It’ as a collection of “songs for the end of the world”. The tracks of optimism in the midst of impending doom were written quickly and instinctively back in 2019, when the world was a different place. Things may have changed since then but the simple truths held and the messages conveyed are clear and increasingly relevant.

‘Don’t Think About It’ was recorded and mixed by guitarist Tom Hill in his SE London studio ‘The Bookhouse’ and mastered by Dan Coutant (Drug Church, Swain, Lemuria).

Muttering Announce Debut EP, ‘Don’t Think About It’

London-based indie-rock newcomers MUTTERING have announced their debut EP ‘Don’t Think About It’ will be out 9th April via Failure By Design Records. The first track to be released from the forthcoming collection is the darkly brooding ‘Swim’.

Back in 2019, the group’s vocalist Chaz Bush penned the unnervingly prophetic lyrics “everything’s gonna change, I can feel it” for the track ‘Swim’, blissfully unaware of the events that would soon unfold and change the world.

“I read an article that suggested the worst thing you can do for the environment is have a child. The idea that you could bring a child into a world that was destined to be catastrophically wetter was playing havoc with my commitment to procreation. These shocking possibilities weren’t only considered by Kevin Costner’s ‘Mariner’ in the 1995 bellyflop ‘Waterworld’, after all…” says Chaz.

“I was consumed by the contradiction of stopping the spread of the human race to protect the human race. We were aware and focused on building something that was never going to last. Why? And can you swim? he adds.

The themes of optimism amidst impending doom in ‘Swim’ follow into the other four tracks that comprise the band’s upcoming debut EP. The band refer to it affectionately as a collection of “songs for the end of the world”. They were written quickly and instinctively back in 2019, when the world was a different place. Things may have changed since then but the simple truths held and the messages conveyed are clear and increasingly relevant.
