Our Hollow, Our Home Sign With Arising Empire, Release New Single, ‘Battle x City’

It’s been recently announced that Our Hollow, Our Home have signed to respected label Arising Empire.

“We’re super stoked to join the AE family, we always said that we would love to sign with a label, so long as it was one that understood the ethos of this band, and loved it as much as we and our fans do! It’s safe to say that we felt that was met with ample amounts with Arising Empire! – Our Hollow, Our Home

To celebrate,  Our Hollow, Our Home present their brand new single ‘Battle X City‘ feat. Samantha Bower (Lightwave) via Arising Empire.

“To put it simply, ‘Battle X City’ is a track that is truly unlike any other Our Hollow, Our Home release to date. It is a testament to how far this band are willing to push the key elements of our signature blend of pop-infused metalcore, and how much we can experiment with the contrasting extremes of heavy and light that OHOH have become known for.  Lyrically the song traverses a constant struggle of trying to make something you believe in succeed, whilst the rest of the world tries to convince you that it’s doomed to fail.” – Connor (Vocals)

‘Battle x City” features guest vocals from Samantha Bower, the lead singer of rising pop-metal group Lightwave, which sees Our Hollow, Our Home adding guest clean vocals for the first time ever to a release, which is a refreshing and innovative touch to this riff-heavy, feel good thrill ride of a track.

Our Hollow, Our Home Drop New Video For ‘Monarch’

A little while ago, Our Hollow, Our Home returned to the scene with their record, ‘Burn In The Flood’ which was spectacular.

If you’ve missed it though then get prepared for this as the band have dropped a video for the track, ‘Monarch’.

The video is a truly no holds barred relentless piece which only adds to the intensity of the bands material.

Tobias Young (Vocals / Guitar) explains on the track:

“Monarch” is a track about a toxic relationship. If you’ve ever been in a relationship that was so wrong for you, but you were completely blind to it at that point in time, then this song is for you. Coming to terms with those feelings can make you feel like you’ve been hit by a truck, but the weight that lifts from your shoulders can really be cathartic.  Letting go is the fairest thing for you as an individual, and for the other person involved too.”

Check out the video for ‘Monarch’ below.

Loathe & More Are Part Of A vinyl Boxset To Raise Money For The Black Heart

If you’ve ever been in Camden Town, it’s possible you’ve passed or visited The Black Heart.

It’s a venue that’s been home to many bands over the years but because of the ongoing pandemic, it could be closing for good.

In a bid to help the venue reach a target of £150,000, bands have come together for a very special vinyl boxset.

Put together by The Rock Fix, the ‘Save The Black Heart’ boxset comes with three 7′ records and features these tracks:

Loathe – ‘New Faces In The Dark’
Our Hollow, Our Home – ‘Speak of Sorrow’
Immerse – ‘Red Shade’
Venom Prison – ‘Officer Down’ (Stampin’ Ground Cover)
Bad Touch – ‘Come A Little Closer’
Take The Backseat, Casey – ‘Suffer’

Loathe had this to say about the venue:

“The Black Heart was one of the first to open its doors to Loathe during our infancy and grant us with the opportunity to present our show to music lovers from down south. For that the venue holds a very dear place in our hearts. Venues much like The Black Heart are essential to the well being and progression of, not just live music but music as a whole – with each grassroots venue serving as somewhat of a booster or platform to present fresh, new art. Please help to not let these amazing places that house amazing memories and opportunities for thousands of music lovers out there go to waste.”

And Our Hollow, Our Home’s Connor Hallisey had this to say:

“The Black Heart isn’t just a venue, it’s much, much more. As upcoming artists, we’ve seen first-hand how venues like this are imperative to the creative industry, and furthermore not just for musicians, but for venue staff, the promoters, and most importantly the fans. The Black Heart will always have our support, and we hope you’ll be able to help them in any way that you can too.”

The set is a ‘Pay What You Want’ price, with the minimum set at £19.99 so that at least £5 of each sale can go directly to The Black Heart.

Our Hollow, Our Home Release New Video For ‘Overcast’

Our Hollow, Our Home have dropped a new music video for ‘Overcast’.

The track is off their recently announced record, ‘Burn In The Flood’, which is due to be released on 28th May 2021 via Hollow Music.

“We are beyond proud to announce our third full-length album, ‘Burn In The Flood’,” they explain in a statement.

“Whilst there is an overarching theme of being caught or trapped within your own emotions, on this record – rather than delving into a deep constructive narrative – we wanted to focus on letting each song have its own time in the spotlight, and have each tell its own story. Every time we start writing, we push ourselves harder than ever before, and all truly believe this is our strongest collection of songs to date.

“The last year has been tough for everyone, but through all the hardships thrown at us, especially as touring musicians, we dug deep and ended up finding some of the rawest, most open & honest material we’ve ever written. This album was made entirely for our fans. They are a huge inspiration to us and this record has been brought to life by our literal blood, sweat and tears during a time where we honestly didn’t know if the world would even allow us to carry on doing what we love so dearly!

“It’s a project which documents our personal growth and the genuine struggles faced in our daily lives, and we wear our hearts on our sleeves from beginning to end.”

Opening up about the song, vocalist Connor Hallisey says, “Depression, anxiety and the suicidal thoughts are things that many of us genuinely struggle to discuss even at the best of times, and this song touches upon the divide of feelings you can experience when pushed into the darkest of places.

“We are blessed to have our good friend Ryo Kinoshita featuring on the track as we felt his voice could bring a level of aggression unmatched by any other! We’ve known the guys in Crystal Lake for a long time now, and we even managed to bring them over for one of their first UK appearances back in 2017 at our first Holloween event. It’s always been a pleasure to play and work alongside these incredibly talented individuals and having Ryo make an appearance on the track just further solidifies our friendship and respect for the group.”

Our Hollow, Our Home Release Huge New Single

This is a very huge new single from the enigmatic Our Hollow, Our Home.

‘Burn In The Flood’ takes everything that makes what it is in the UK metalcore scene and takes it to the next level, with a huge singalong chorus, technically melodic guitar parts and an all-consuming guttural atmosphere to make something so cathartic and undeniably amazing.

Vocalist Tobias Young had this to say about the track:

“Burn In The Flood has drummed up some of the most intense anticipation we’ve ever witnessed for an OHOH drop! We’ve been building the hype and teasing our fans for so long, we thought it was only fair to bring out the single early. 2020 has been a massive struggle for us as musicians and our fans, who have had their experience of seeing live music, ripped from them. ‘Burn In The Flood’ is about overcoming adversity and fighting your way out of an overwhelming situation. I think this is something we can all reflect on after the year we had.”

This is the first taste of new music from the band since the release of the stand alone track, ‘Burn It // Bury It’ last year.
