Check Out Richie Quake’s New Track, ‘Rules’

Brooklyn based artist and producer Richie Quake has returned for his new single ‘Rules’ , out today via Black Clay.

Written by both Richie and NY songwriter/producer Andy Stavrapolis (The Knocks, Sofi Tukker, Jai Wolf) ‘Rules’ experiments with pop, R&B, and psychedelic influences. Richie delivers his signature falsetto that grooves effortlessly, wrapped in sultry guitar riffs and vintage synth sounds. An ode to a bygone era yet still fresh and modern, he expertly balances familiarity with innovation. The song came together quickly at HeavyRoc Studios in New York in less than an hour, an emotional creative burst experienced while going through a difficult time in a relationship.

“‘Rules’ is about falling in love with someone against your better judgement and the confusion or guilt that comes along when love and bad timing coincide,” explains Ritchie. “In my last relationship, I fell for my
ex-girlfriend when I was still dating someone else and, even though I tried hard to deny my feelings, I still ended up giving in to my desires and breaking my own rules.”

Last month, Richie released his first single of 2021 titled ‘Sensitive’ , which earned high praise from press and editorial playlists alike, receiving placement in the ultra hip Spotify playlist Text Back. First coming onto the scene with his debut EP ‘Paradise Dreams’ in 2019, he’s been supported by VICE, Paper Magazine, NYLON, Pigeons and Planes, FADER, Complex, and other outlets. In addition, his music has been featured in Comedy Central shows Broad City and Detroiters, and Spotify’s Lorem playlist.

Now, with the release of ‘Rules’ , Richie Quake continues his rise to the top, pointing towards an exciting 2021 with many more releases to come.
