After playing a couple of socially distanced shows which was around their formation last year, the band Salem have announced the details of their debut UK headlining tour.
James And The Cold Gun will be the support for the tour.
Will Gould had this to say about the announcement:
“We are so excited to announce that our passion project SALEM will be touring for the first time. Born in lockdown it feels surreal to be finally taking the band out into the real world for the first time, but never more appropriate. After a year of watching our music scene take hit after hit from COVID-19, reinforced by a real lack of support from our government, we have made a conscious effort to be playing a long intimate tour in independent venues. We owe so much to venues like these and are desperate to do our part.
“I haven’t performed in venues these sizes in a very long time and I’m so excited for sweaty stage dives and punk rock singalongs. This tour is going to be absolute carnage in the best possible way.”
After confirming that the 2021 iteration of Download festival will not be taking place this year,the festival have revealed some more of the names who will be playing Donington Park in 2022.

The track from Will Gould of Creeper and Matt Reynolds of Skylar have announced their upcoming EP, ‘Salem II’, set for release on 7th May via Roadrunner.
“’DRACULADS’ is the sound of two lovers kissing in a bar fight,” says Will. “It is an over the top love song literally about falling in love with a vampire.
“The video is a period piece and tells the story of two punk rock kids dating in England, in 1985. It was filmed in one single day and shot at many historic musical landmarks in Manchester.
“For the two indoor scenes I built sets in my apartment, at one point transforming my own bedroom into the home of one of our characters. It is chaotic and romantic, destructive and dramatic just as the song it was shot for.”
Hello everyone welcome back to the New Music Roundup! We’re here for a roundup of ten of the best recently released Music Video They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music!
First up this week, originally formed in the foothills of Colorado by college friends Jarvis Anderson (lead vocals, production), Sam Martin (vocals, keyboards), and Simon Katz (guitar), the band moved to Los Angeles after dropping out of school. Luis Rosiles flew from Jarvis’ hometown of Chicago to join the band as their drummer, and LA local Michael Bucher joined as bassist.
The band paid its dues in the glitter and grime of seedy Hollywood nightclubs before being adopted by Hermosa Beach, a Los Angeles sea-side community with a strong punk rock heritage, which identified with their synth-heavy, sweaty and wildly packed shows.
Of the new single, Anderson explains, “Cooler is told from the perspective of a guy that is set on winning over a girl who rejected him in the past. I love how the throwback synths and guitars rise as his story gathers fun, frenetic momentum.”
The result is an absurdly epic and feel-good song that seems serendipitous to the band’s actual comeback. The single somehow finds a way of being equal parts soothing and exciting; healing and rambunctious. Those who are fans of their debut Hit “In This City” will find “Cooler” just as irresistible, with its veracious hooks, and genre-bending, disruptive appeal.
Moving forward this week, cleopatrick have shared a video for their swaggering new single, ‘Good Grief’.
The release marks the Canadian duo’s – Luke Gruntz (guitar/vocals) and Ian Fraser (drums) – first single from their debut album, due via Thirty Tigers in 2021.
“This song marks the beginning of a new era for our band,” says frontman Luke Gruntz. “‘GOOD GRIEF’ is the first single off what will be our debut album. It’s here to strike fear in the hearts of our enemies, while simultaneously throwing an arm around our friends, introducing them to the new sound we have spent the last year-and-whatever totally obsessing over.
“‘GOOD GRIEF’ was born in quarantine. I found myself spiritually and physically locked in the very basement I had been romanticizing so deeply on our early records. We were bummed to say the least, but after a few weeks of video games and dog walks, a silver-lining began to emerge. I started writing again, and found myself feeling more self-aware, vulnerable, hungry, and vengeful than ever before.”
Now for the number three pick, a band we just can’t get enough of recently and that is the Texan pop-rock trio Waterparks with their latest single, ‘Lowkey As Hell’.
It’s another video from the band to be directed by frontman Awsten Knight, who also had this to say about the track.
“The song is a recap of the last year or so. It really describes what’s been going on and who I am. When I’m on stage, I’m a forward-facing, extroverted presence. At the same time, I’m also the biggest hermit ever. I just like to stay in, ignore my phone a lot, and write. I’m naturally reserved in my day-to-day life. The juxtaposition of loud materialism versus private emotion in that opening line really encapsulates the feeling I wanted to get across in the rest of the song.”

Moving to a little bit of Ska Punk in this weeks list, we have an offering in the form of Orange County, CA 7-piece Bite Me Bambi where they’ve dropped an EP, the aptly titled ‘Hurry Up and Wait’ (fitting for the year of the Covid), a collection of the singles the band has released in 2020, plus an exclusive bonus track titled “This Love is Dead.”
“This collection of songs represents the origin of Bite Me Bambi. Essentially they were the first initial songs Tahlena and Brian wrote before and while the band was forming. We feel that this collection is a good representation of where the band was in 2019-2020 and as always we are happy to put them out so the fans can have all the singles in one EP.”- Bite Me Bambi
How’s two Ska Punk tracks sound? Now we have in the form of Californian heroes Goldfinger for ‘Wallflower’, the lead single to come from the band’s recently released full-length album, ‘Never Look Back’.
Discussing the video, frontman John Feldman had this to say.
“We had such a fun time making this video. I was stoked I was able to use my house in my backyard, so I barely had to travel! Hahaha! Caleb (Alvarez) did a fantastic job directing, we’re very excited for you all to see!”

Switching up genres right now, there’s the French metalcore troupe LANDMVRKS with ‘Lost In A Wave’, the latest track to come from their forthcoming similarly titled third album, ‘Lost In The Waves’.

Electronica anyone? After announcing the release of his second EP titled “Continued Survival”, the Italian-born musician and producer Souvlaki unveils another piece of this new work, which was preceded by the single “7LUNGS” (featuring Slim Gong) at the beginning of November.
“Isolation” features Deborah Grandi on vocals and is presented with a stop motion video directed by Souvlaki himself, along with Carlo Rodella and Nicola Nolli.
The musician comments: “This is the first song I started working on for this new EP, the one that set the whole songwriting process in motion. Deborah’s vocal lines were written almost on the spot, we found them when we first listened to the base in the practice room and they immediately seemed to work well in the song.
The lyrics match the story of the video, the central theme is people’s incommunicability, and the song title seems to sum it up quite well. I have to admit that I struggled to finish the arrangements of “Isolation”, but I perceived its great potential right away and I didn’t want to set it aside. Thanks to Simone Piccinelli, who contributed to the production of the EP, I got to find the balance between all the elements in this song.
I am satisfied with the outcome and I hope listeners will appreciate it too; personally, I like the atmosphere it evokes, that slightly “retro” touch; it plays along within a mix between darkness and positive feelings.”
The EP “Continued Survival”, produced by Souvlaki and Simone Piccinelli at La Buca Recording Club and mastered at Woodpecker Mastering will contain 6 tracks, including the single “Isolation” and the previously released single “7LUNGS” and will be available on all main digital platforms starting January 15th.
Fresh from the announcement of their upcoming album The Battle At Garden’s Gate, Greta Van Fleet have just unveiled an incredibly huge new video for their latest single Age Of Machine.
The epic clip – which was in fact co-directed by Greta Van Fleet and Matthew Daniel Siskin – addresses “the rumbling beauty around us, but leaves the final significance to the viewer”, so you’re going to have to pay close attention (and possibly even take notes?!) to work out what it all means.
The band’s second studio album, ‘The Battle At Garden’s Gate’, is set for release on April 16th 2021 via Lava Records/Republic Records/EMI.
Time to smooth things out, at least for one video right now and that is with Cancer Bats. The band have an acoustic EP on the way, and have ‘Deathsmarch To A New Acoustic Beat’ in support of it.
This is a stripped down reworking of their song ‘Deathsmarch’, which comes from the band’s 2008 album, ‘Hail Destroyer’.

And lastly this week we have the side project of Will Gould of Creeper and Matt Reynolds of Skylar which can only be Creeper. The title? ‘Throat’.
Will explains: “Being that ‘Throat’ is a song about obsession, we thought it would be a cool idea to base the video for the song loosely around Stephen King’s book ‘Misery’.
“We once again brought in Olli Appleyard of Static Dress to make the film, but we changed a few details in the story to better fit SALEM. The key two being that it now takes place in a boudoir with padded walls, and that at the end of our story, everyone dies.”

Happy beginning of October everyone! Welcome back to the new music roundup. We’re here for a roundup of five of the best recently released tracks. They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music!
First up this week are the Texan Trio Waterparks.
This is the bands first track to be released since the release of their third record, ‘Fandom’, which was released on 2019.
Awsten Knight says:
“The song is a recap of the last year or so. It really describes what’s been going on and who I am. When I’m onstage, I’m a forward-facing, extroverted presence. Seconds up this week are the South Coast duo Snake Eyes.
“This was a track that kinda fell in my lap,” admits vocalist and guitarist Jim Heffy when talking about snake eyes’ newly-released single ‘skeletons’. “A guy at my old work would make these very questionable remarks/“jokes”. I didn’t wanna make a scene as I was leaving the job so I’d just bite my lip, which looking back I feel was the wrong move. The lyrics came to me when driving home from work so I had to pull over and quickly whip the voice recorder app out and sing it all before I forgot. When I got home, the chords wrote themselves and the song was done in 10 minutes. We shot most of the video in Thomas’ basement but filmed the arcade scenes in Hastings on the seafront. The bulk of the video was shot last August so naturally we got some funny looks/comments, including “Halloween’s not for another 2 months, dickhead”.”
The EP ‘Skeletons’ is set for release on 9th October 2020 via Failure By Design.
The first tracks released by the band, ‘don’t worry’ and ‘wishbone’ have already enjoyed support from the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show (who also premiered ‘skeletons’), Planet Rock Radio, BBC Music Introducing in the South and Alex Baker at Kerrang! Radio.
In the absence of your classic gig scenario and thirsting to play the tunes from their EP, having only managed to squeeze in one real life performance before lockdown kicked in, snake eyes recently played a “live” gig online with Crashface, which you can watch back here.
Now, LA-based AViVA isn’t letting anything get in her way with releasing music this year despite the ongoing changes we’re seeing around the world. This September she is releasing what she has called her favourite new song, ‘WICKED’. With 2 Billion streams under her belt, the self-proclaimed Queen of the Outsiders is giving her fans something they can rely on during these unreliable times.
‘WICKED’ harks back to some of the lyrics and production we’re used to from her earlier releases ‘BRN’ and ‘Blackout’. It is a dark pop melody with haunting lyrics about what it feels like to be misplaced in the world and carry that mantle throughout your life.
“It’s a wicked world, for this wicked girl” is the main hook which grabs listeners from the start. AViVA is using her music as a platform to share her ideas around creativity, self-expression and identity, and it would seem this song is no exception.
On the release, she says:
“Dancing around with your inner demons can be fun. Sometimes you can harness that energy and create something great. Sometimes it can take over and we let the darkness rule us. That means different things for different people. I guess ‘WICKED’ is about accepting that reality and making the most of it all. Regardless of what the fake people around you might say is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’.”
And for our penultimate track comes from Strange Bones.
The band have dropped their latest single, ‘Menace’ which features the vocals of Bob Vylan.
On the track, Bobby Bentham (Vocals) says:
“Menace is a cathartic release in response to the world being on hold and the insanity that came from this. We are the passenger in the car, sat next to hypocrisy with absurdity in the driver's seat going absolutely nowhere, the road is blocked. I could also say it’s a commentary on the playing fields levelling out, when everything falls apart, you are left with your will and you desire to continue moving forwards, never back.”
Bob adds:
“The world has been on somewhat of a hold recently but we’ve had to continue creating and Menace is one of the results of that constant creating. It’s the perfect storm. It’s the result of two wild bands coming together and creating something that reflects the energy of our live shows. It’s been a long time coming!”
And last this week we have Will Gould (Creeper) has he has recently unveiled his brand new Punk Rock project Salem, where he’s joined by Matt Reynolds (Howard’s Alias, Skylar, Drawings).
The project launch comes a few months following the release of Creeper’s second record, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’.
Salem will released their self-titled EP on October 23rd 2020 via Roadrunner Records where the band have given a glimpse on what to expect via their single, ‘Destroy Me’.
