Cameron Boucher of Sorority Noise Accused of Alleged Rape!

Connecticut rockers Sorority Noise have announced that they have had to cancel the remaining dates of their current tour, originally intended to be part of their run of shows before going on an indefinite hiatus following the allegations made against their vocalist, Cameron Boucher.

The allegations surfaced online this week via Facebook in a brief but now deleted Facebook which read “Goodnight rapist screamo band.”

Before it’s deletion, the post was screenshot and shared via Reddit.

On April 10th, the day after the accusations surfaced online, Voucher issued a statement in response to the allegations via Twitter, which you can read below.

“I am aware of the Facebook post that Nicole Schoenholz made late last night that has made its way to Reddit and other social media.

I would like to firmly state that her accusations are false.

I take accusations of sexual violence and nonconsent very seriously. Since last night, I have taken the time to have honest conversations with previous intimate partners and given them the room to share if they had any experiences with me that were nonconsensual or disrespectful in any way.

Following these dialogues, I can confirm that the accusations against me are baseless.

Please know I have handled with as much care and respect as possible. Thank you for reading this.”

The day after on April 11th 2018, the remaining members of the band collectively issued a statement of their own, in which they confirmed they would be removing themselves from the remainder of the UK tour they were on with The Wonder Years.

“We are aware of the allegation against Cam that was posted on Reddit earlier today. Our team is doing its due diligence and looking into the matter as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we are no longer playing tonight’s show in London with the Wonder Years and will be removing ourselves from the rest of the tour.

We are looking after Cam and taking him to receive treatment to ensure his health at this time.

It is difficult for us to say more at this moment as the rest of us are doing our best to handle the situation immediately in front of us. We will make an update as soon as we have any more information and clarity to offer.

We are sorry to let any of you down and extend our deepest regrets to those affected. Thank you.”

According to SPIN, the band have been dropped by their management and their PR.

More details on these events will be confirmed as they develop.

Sorority Noise Announce Hiatus

Despite an upcoming UK/US tour and a release of a stripped back version of last years record, ‘You’re Not As __ As You Think, Sorority Noise have announced an indefinite hiatus.

Cameron Boucher, the band’s vocalist has confirmed his in a statement.

“Hello all,

This may come as unexpected news but after our upcoming UK/US tours, Sorority Noise will be going on hiatus. I consider each person in this band and crew to be a member of my family and I love them with every ounce of my being, but I think it’s in my heart and mind’s best interest to take a break from the band for a while. Thank you all so much for your endless support and I know I speak for everyone when I say that these past few years have been beyond our wildest imaginations. In our time away, use this opportunity to find new bands, ones you might not normally listen to, and listen to what they have to say.

‘YNAAYT’ is streaming early everywhere now and our tour starts in a week.

Take care of yourselves and we’ll hopefully talk to you soon.
