We’re back for another week! We have another roundup of ten music videos which have been recently released and they’re always some of my favourites! They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but enough talk, let’s get down to things.
First up this week we have KOU. This is a new project from Jon Wilkes (Ex- The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) who released the video ‘Burn’, which exclusively premiered though Punktastic.
Wilkes started KOU in 2009 where the first single was released just back in 2018. In addition to this, KOU is an acronym which stands for ‘Kingdom Of Us’.
“The idea of running a (KOU)coup in defense of our livelihood as humans and anything that holds us back. It’s about following your dreams no matter the cost”-KOU
Wallflower have their upcoming debut record, ‘Teach Yourself To Swim’ set to be released on June 5th 2020.
The latest cut from their release comes in the form of ‘Further Down.
Vini Moreira-Yeoell comments:
“Everything that happens on this track is a perfect combination of everything this record is about and, ultimately, what this band is about. The lyrics to this song contain the album’s title ‘Teach Yourself To Swim’. In the context of the track, it could mean one thing but when you take those words and say them out loud they start to take their own form and we all felt the phrase represented the album perfectly. One of the biggest things we hope people take away from this album is that none of us claim to have any answers to the questions being asked by the songs on the record. It’s about conversation and discourse and figuring out a little bit more about our own traits – both positive and negative. Sometimes it all gets a little overwhelming, that’s what this song is about.”
We move to something a little more crazy in the form of In Hearts Wake. They have a new release for ‘Hellbringer’.
It’s a pretty mental video where you have Polaris’s Jamie Hails turn into a werewolf as well as blood raining down on everyone.
On the track Jake Taylor (vocals) said:
“At some of our American shows extremist groups have picketed outside, telling our fans that they’re ‘going to hell’. If only they knew just how positive the energy inside the venue was! Never judge a book by it’s cover. So rather than fight hate with hate, we decided to have some fun and lean into the metal stereotype.
In 2020 with live streams becoming the new norm, we decided to stage our own hell-bent circus. We thought it would be funny to ask Jamie to dress up as a werewolf, turn me into a vampire and rain blood on the entire band. Guess Halloween came early this year. Thank you Blade.”
The track is off their upcoming release, ‘Kaliyuga’ which is set to be released on August 7th via UNFD.
Let’s keep the genre of the weird and wonderful going. Creeper have added to their upcoming, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’. The latest cut is ‘All My Friends’, which was filmed remotely and put together by non other than Oll Appleyard (Static Dress).
Moving into the singer / songwriter category now we have A.A. Williams who has dropped a video for ‘Melt’. This is taken off her debut full length record, ‘Forever Blue’.
Next up, we have I Prevail, whom have something truly in their style. They pull no punches where the band address some of the issues taking place right now and there’s a guest on this version of the track where rapper Joyner Lucas lends his vocals to a verse!
We do have to warn viewers here that the video contains scenes which some may find distressing, so please watch with caution!
Time for a fan video! A few weeks ago, The Word Alive revealed that they needed their fans to “Sing along, play instruments, air guitar and more” to help them make a video for their song ‘Thank You’.
And this is what the result has come to! It’s an inspiring video which showcases the fanbase and helps bring people together.
Anyone for a Dutch track? Heavy metal heavyweights Within Temptation have premiered a new video with Kerrang. ‘Entertain You’ is a standalone single which is the first new cut of material since their 2019 record, ‘Resist’.
On the track, the bands vocalist Sharon Den Adel has said:
“The best way to explain the lyrics is to see how we treat a certain groups of people that don’t fit in our society,” begins Sharon. “[There is] a need to emphasise that they do not fit in so we can feel good about ourselves. We’re singling them out, cornering them in all sorts of ways – think of videos of fights in the streets, filming an incident instead of helping someone. They’re not here for our entertainment. It’s a problem that has always been a part of society and it will always be there, unfortunately. So this subject is never old, but it’s something we need to keep talking about so it doesn’t get accepted as normal behaviour.”
This is a new one. Crown The Empire, in addition to releasing a video for ‘BLURRY’, have also launched an AR (Augmented Reality) hologram experience via JADU, an app that “allows fans to enjoy the unique experience of performing with their favourite artists by choosing from a library of photorealistic holograms of different musicians.”
The band adds:
“Hello, it’s been a while since we’ve last spoken. As you may know, our world is in a state of isolation and confusion. The future is unknown and we’re all uncertain of what’s to come. With that being said, we wanted to release something special to get you through these dark times — a song about feeling lost when it seems like all hope is gone.
“We are excited that the official music video for our song ‘BLURRY (out of place)’ is out now.
“Andy Leo has been turned into a hologram, and you can bring him to life wherever you are in the world.
“Download the app, choose the hologram of Andy, scan your surroundings, and he will appear in front of you. Film videos of you and Andy singing/dancing to ‘BLURRY’ together and post them on all your socials. We hope you enjoy this interactive experience as well as the new music video. Stay safe out there.”
And lastly, we turn to what is a hilarious and amazing video, and the fact Megan Fox is in this is just a plus. This is Machine Gun Kelly with his latest track, ‘Bloody Valentine’, off his upcoming ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ record.
Fox force feeds MGK during the video as well as tying him up amongst other things. You have to see it to believe it.
And that’s it for another week of the music video roundup! Be sure to check back next week for another look at the latest music video releases from the best bands around and who knows? Maybe you’ll find your new favourite band on that list.

Taking to Twitter recently, The Word Alive’s frontman Telle Smith has taken to Twitter to Discuss the toxic nature of the internet where he’s taken aim at fans who throw criticism at band members online.
“‘Soft. Pussy. Hope you flip your van and die. Entitled. Egotistical. Sell out. Don’t care about old fans. Need to write songs like the old ones. Fuck this band sounds the same they need to change it up. Way better with *insert old member*. Fuck You for not playing my city’- fans. ALL of these things I have been told over the internet for the entirety of my career which began back in March of 2007 when I quit college, quite my job, broke up with my gf and left my family to cross the country in hopes of chasing a dream… ALL things we are told to “just don’t read it” or “fuck ‘em”.” Telle started with.
He then opened up about the hate he’s received over the years, sharing “I’m gonna be super fucking real with you guys, MOST of us read MOST of what you write. We’ve seen the hate. We feel it. We bury it. We move on. We try to pretend it doesn’t impact us, but that’s a lie. The world is so negative and in spite of devoting my entire adult life to try to help people, make music I love, support my friends and colleagues, play shows with broken bones, excruciating pain, depression, loneliness and emptiness it’s just never enough. For some…
I have battled out of a super dark place that one day I will speak of but for now just appreciate how far I’ve come as I learn to be proud of myself, happy, and mentally/emotionally/physically healthy.
Others are in the darkness right now. Touring FOR you. Hurting FOR you.
I’m saying this shit because nobody talks about it. The entertainment world as a whole can be so toxic and it doesn’t HAVE to be. Stop making it cool to be hateful and negative. It starts small but positivity is infectious and it grows. It can spread and inspire change.
I started this thread with the dark side of things but I have also found so much joy and happiness. I have sold over 100,000 records, have had millions of streams, fans singing so loud I could barely hear myself and made the best life long friends I could ever dream of. I have made so many memories a kid from Dayton Ohio “never should” have. Somehow just enough of you have believed in me and given me a voice and I want to say thank you. Thank you for being a light to me because it does help. I am human just like you. I never wanted to be a rockstar. I still don’t. I don’t need fame. I don’t need to be rich. I DO want to be able to provide for my family. I DO want to be comfortable and to be able to see my family more often while they are here. I DO want to leave the world a better place.
If you want to be a part of THAT type of environment then come to our 10 year tours. Go support the bands you love. Listen and love unapologetically to the music that makes you FEEL something real. It’s the best feeling in the world when you need to hear THAT song.
I want to give you 100 more of those songs, so thank you for supporting me and please… Think about what you say before you say it because you never know who is struggling, and just because we’re on that stage doesn’t mean we are all happy. Some are barely hanging on…”
So now seems like as poignant a time as ever to remind you that the artists you admire (or don’t) are real people. With real feelings.
Don’t let the relative anonymity of social media drive you towards saying things that you would never say in person.
Don’t be a dick.

These League Of Legends collab’s just get better and better every year and this year hasn’t seen the effort go unnoticed.
The collaboration of The Word Alive with The Glitch Mov and Mako’s track ‘Rise’ which was produced for the League Of Legends World Championship in the field of Post-Produced Graphic Design!
These fields always go criminally unnoticed in recent years and I hope it isn’t too long before more and more get nominated either!
RISE is nominated for an Emmy 🤘🏼
Loved making this song, and the video is incredible. We’ll be playing it this Spring so come see it live too! https://t.co/Cwb7F4VrUV

The Word Alive will be over to the UK for Slam Dunk Festival in May but the band have announced a headline date of their own for London.
The one-off show will follow a tour of Europe, during which they’ll be heading off on what they’ve described as “the most extensive career spanning headlining set to date.”
Joining them as support will be Of Virtue, Make Them Suffer and Aviana.
It’s Friday. It’s 4 PM. You know what time it is. It’s time for another music video roundup! I find ten of the best recent music videos and they’re all put into a list for your viewing pleasure. So let’s go.
First up is The Word Alive as they have recently premiered a track which they have created in collaboration for the League Of Legends World Championships. The Glitch Mob and Mako also appear one the track as well.
So, you know how Roam’s latest record, ‘Great Heights & Nosedives’ was pretty awesome? They’ve just recently released a brand new video for their tracks, ‘The Rich Life Of A Poor Man’ where they chronicle the past few years.
Fresh off two new singles earlier in the year, metalcore icons Atreyu have released an enhanced and insane video for ‘The Time Is Now’.
Pressing on with the promotion of their critically-acclaimed third record, ‘Nearer My God’, the St. Louis based indie rock group Foxing have released a video for ‘Heartbeats’.
Yorkshire newcomers Captives are new to the scene but they’re so new that, they have got their first single out and about. It’s called ‘Ghost Like You’ and you can check it out below.
And now we go to Poland! We’re going for some titans right now as Behemoth are gearing up to release their anticipated new record, ‘I Loved You At Your Darkest’, their first LP in over four years. Before anything happens though, the trio have unleashed ‘Bartzabel’ which see things get seriously dark!
But, before then, the heavy-hitting trio have unleashed a NSFW video to accompany ‘Bartzabel’, which sees the band conducting some dark religious ritual which gets a little horrific at times.
You can stream and watch the video for ‘Batrzabel’ below.
Up next are Floridian heavyweights, Trivium. They’re keeping things simple and straight-forward with the video for ‘The Wretchedness Inside’, which acts as the midpoint track from last year’s full-length, ‘The Sin And The Sentence’.
Time for a statement. Aussie band Hellions have released a new video for a track off their upcoming release, ‘Smile’. Speaking on the video, the band have said: “Our Director, Aimee-Lee X. Curran, her crew and our cast really helped bring those words and the meaning behind the song to life. It was a pleasure to create and we are ecstatic with the result. The little details in our hero, Danica Burch, and our ballroom casts performances were paramount in bringing this all together. Thank you to everyone involved for such a pleasant and professional experience. We hope Hellions fans enjoy the video for ‘Smile’ as much as we all enjoyed making it!”
Before the penultimate video, I do have to say I had to put these two touring bands next to each other just because. First up is The Faim who are changing the face of the Alternative Rock scene. These Aussie lads are something special but you do have to experience these tracks live because to see them is just something special in itself.
And lastly….. Against The Current recently released a brand new record. Yes, the ‘In Our Bones’ era is well and truly over and now they have just released ‘Past Lives’. Now they have a new video out for their track, ‘Voices’.
And that’s it for another roundup of music videos. Don’t forget to check back next week for another list of ten of the best music videos. Every Friday at 4PM.
Hey everyone, apologies this post is coming a bit later than usual. I was at a festival at the weekend and had no internet connection for the duration of it, so I was unable to do any posts! Although, there will be a few posts about that festival, hopefully within the next week or so but without further interruption, here is my next list of music videos! Kicking us off is Within Destruction! They just released their new record, ‘Deathwish’ a few weeks ago and now they debuted a video for the track.
Now Cancer Bats dropped their new record to the surprise of everyone a few weeks ago and now they’ve recently released a video for Brightest Day. There’s something special about this track though as it was Filmed, Directed and Edited by the youth of Ndinawe!
Next it’s new boys on the scene who are tearing things up opening for Lower Than Atlantis. This is The Faim and their new video for ‘Midland Line’.
The man known as Andrew W.K. is often known for some of his music videos being qiite visually spellbinding and this next one for Music Is Worth Living for is no exception to the matter.
Now from the mind of Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, comes his new side project, the Longshot. They have just recently dropped their first record, ‘Love Is For Losers and dropped a music video. It’s not a live video first though. Check out the video for the title track below.
Just off the announcement of their new record, ‘Living Proof’ State Champs have dropped a music video to go with their first single, ‘Dead And Gone’.
The date is getting closer and closer for the release of The Word Alive’s new record, ‘Violent Noise’ on May 4th but they have one track ready for listening right now in the form of ‘Why Am I Like This?’
Up and comers Nervus have shared an absolutely beautiful video for ‘Fall Apart’ taken from their recent record, Everything Dies’ and is aparently based on the flight of Icarus. Hmm… that will make an interesting watch.
Ahead of their support slot on Simple Plan’s Australian tour, Pop-rockers Eat Your Heart Out have shared a video for their brilliant track, ‘Rust’. It’s taken from their recent EP, ‘Mind Games’ which was released via Fearless Records.
Now the last video comes from All Time Low. Their video for ‘Afterglow’, was filmed last month on their UK tour at London’s Alexandra Palace. It’s already a fan favourite but whoa, this video showcases just what an All Time Low show is!
And that’s it for another round of music videos this week, check back next week for another music video countdown.
