Thick Release Video For Their Latest Single, ‘Happiness’

Brooklyn pop-flecked punk trio THICK have shared their third exhilarating single from forthcoming album ‘Happy Now’. ‘Happiness’ is accompanied by a visual capturing a day of true irony as the band takes a convertible out in search of happiness despite an advancing blizzard. A dizzying yet incisive track that sets THICK’s self-reflection to a fantastically breakneck rhythm, ‘Happiness’ opens up the band’s second LP, out this Friday via Epitaph Records. “That song’s about the different ways we seek validation, and how whether you look for it externally or internally, it’s never an easy process,” says vocalist and bassist Kate Black. “In the end, it’s about being more aware of where we’re trying to find happiness.”

The track, which featured on BBC Radio 1 as Next Wave on their Future Artists show last night, appears on the album alongside recent singles ‘Loser’, which has racked up plays on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6Music and Kerrang! Radio, and ‘Tell Myself’.

THICK Release New Single & Video For ‘Tell Myself’

Brooklyn pop-flecked punk trio THICK share their second single, ‘Tell Myself’ inviting listeners to time travel as the band tenderly imparts wisdom to their younger selves.

The track follows the announcement of their forthcoming new album, ‘Happy Now’ and lead-single ‘Loser’, which has already received multiple spins on BBC 6Music and BBC Radio 1. Working again with producer Joel Hamilton (Iggy Pop, Juiceboxxx) and recorded at Studio G Brooklyn, the LP is set to release 19 August via Epitaph Records. THICK will also be touring the album in the autumn on a run of US headline dates.

About the track, THICK share: “As you get older, you sometimes look at your little-kid self and wish you could give them a hug and tell them everything’s going to be okay.  It’s not about minimizing life experiences, but a reminder that you’re stronger than you think and that—despite what it feels like in the moment—there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

All New York State natives, THICK’s three members first crossed paths through shows at Brooklyn’s DIY/all-ages spaces and soon became a mainstay in that very scene. Since signing to Epitaph in 2018—and making their label debut with their self-titled third EP the following year—the band has dramatically expanded their reach and toured all over the country, including a 2021 run with punk legends Flogging Molly and Violent Femmes. But even as their fanbase grows exponentially, THICK thrive on forging an uncommonly close connection with their audience. “Getting to share our songs with new people and build community in places we’ve never been before has been the most fulfilling experience for us,” says Black. “We want to leave everyone smiling from ear to ear and get them moving around and hopefully look up at us and say, ‘Oh, I can do that. I’m gonna start my own band now.’”

THICK Announce New Record, ‘Happy Now’

Brooklyn pop-punk trio THICK have announced their forthcoming new album, ‘Happy Now’.

Working again with producer Joel Hamilton (Iggy Pop, Juiceboxxx) and recorded at Studio G Brooklyn, the LP is set to release August 19th, 2022 via Epitaph Records.

Along with the announce, the band have shared lead-single ‘Loser’, a melodic anthem, accompanied by a lighthearted visual directed + produced by Jeanette D. Moses.

About the track, THICK share: “Especially in music, it’s so easy to feel like a loser and a fuck-up. We want people to know that it’s okay to mess up and that everyone’s a loser sometimes. It’s really the best way to live, instead of trying to be number-one all the time.

This song is an anthem for everyone who feels outshined and overlooked by the people around them. Ultimately, it’s about using that chip on your shoulder to do better and realizing that you’re never going to be a winner if you keep using other people as your measuring stick.”

Happy Now is set to be released on August 19th on Epitaph Records.

THICK Share New Track, ‘Love You Forever’

Brooklyn DIY punk band THICK have shared their latest track ‘Love You Forever.’

It’s the first released by the band since their critically acclaimed debut album ‘5 Years Behind’ was released back in 2020. Referring to the track as their “first honest love song,” the band originally wrote the song as a gift for a friend’s wedding this past year. “It’s about unconditional love and getting through the hard times — knowing that love transcends all of life’s chapters,” adds THICK. “The song is meant to encapsulate the idea of loving your partners, your friends, and most of all loving yourself.“
Alongside the track, the band releases an upbeat music video directed by Aimee Kuge.

Instead of focusing on romantic love, we decided to go on a quest for self-love in this music video showing how transformative it can be,” shares THICK.
