Royal Blood Release Video For ‘Typhoons’

Following the announcement and the release of their single, ‘Typhoons’, Royal Blood have released an accompanying music video.

The Quentin Deronzier-directed new promo sees the pair – Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher – perform nearby to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in East London, with their show casting “a magnetic spell across the city resulting in hundreds of people sprinting to join them,” according to a press release. “As a storm erupts, the duo are surrounded: a typhoon looms large over them, its movements mirrored by the intense, spiralling reaction of the crowd below.”

Typhoons is off Royal Blood’s upcoming third record of the same name, which is due to be released on April 30th 2021.

Royal Blood Detail Third Record, ‘Typhoons’

Royal Blood have announced the details of their upcoming third record.

The release, ‘Typhoons’ is set to be released on 30th April 2021 via Warner Records. This follows on from ‘Trouble’s Coming’ late in 2020, where they’ve now released the title track from the aforementioned record.

Mike Kerr (Vocals) says on the upcoming release: \

“We sort of stumbled on this sound, and it was immediately fun to play. That’s what sparked the creativity on the new album, the chasing of that feeling. It’s weird, though – if you think back to “Figure it Out”, it kind of contains the embryo of this album. We realised that we didn’t have to completely destroy what we’d created so far; we just had to shift it, change it. On paper, it’s a small reinvention. But when you hear it, it sounds so fresh.”

‘Typhoons’, the follow-up to 2017’s ‘How Did We Get So Dark’, it was mostly self-produced apart from ‘Boilermaker’ (produced by Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme’ and ‘Who Needs Friends’ (produced by Paul Epworth, who also lends a hand on ‘Trouble’s Coming’).
