Originally due to take place in 2020, Evanescence and Within Temptation’s Worlds Collide tour has once again been postponed.
Pushed back to 2022, the two bands co-headlining run of the EU and the UK will now be touring March and April 2022, with Evanescence stating,
“Well guys, we have to push this back one more time. We hate to make you wait longer but we are absolutely determined to make this tour we’ve all been looking forward to happening, so check out the new dates. We will be counting the days till we finally get to celebrate all this new music together.
“In the meantime, stay safe, stay sane, and keep your headbanging to The Bitter Truth! You will have no excuse not to know every word by next spring! We love you!”
Within Temptation add: “This is definitely not what we’ve wished for, but reality tells us otherwise: we have to postpone the Worlds Collide tour. Although we can’t make the current situation better than it is, we hope to put a big smile on your faces again soon, because… We haven’t been sitting still and we have a lot of cool stuff coming up for you! Until then, stay safe. And you know what? Third time’s a charm, so see you in March or April 2022!”

Hello everyone welcome back to the New Music Roundup! We’re here for a roundup of five of the best recently released tracks. They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but come on, let’s get down to the music!First up this week we have the Canadian Singer/Songwriter Lights with her cover of the classic festival tune, ‘Deck The Halls’.
The reason this is first? Just because it’s December and I’m trying to have at least one festive track in each of the roundups!
Seconds up this week are the UK masters of destruction Architects whom have delivered another taste of their upcoming record, ‘For Those That Wish To Exist’.
‘Black Lungs’ is being described as ‘A wonderful combination of razor sharp riffs, huge vocal refrains and world-eating atmosphere’. That sounds as its an absolute beast of a track!
Now we move to the band Ocean Grove.
‘Dream’ finds the band in the same universe as their recent album ‘Flip Phone Fantasy’, in which the track was set to be a hidden track from, but with a much breezier vibe coursing through their music, with beautifully rousing guitars and inspirationally limitless lyrical turns.
Vocalist Dale Tanner had this to say about the track:
“It feels as though the lyrics have taken on an even deeper relevance when we look back on the stories of life’s fragility that have been making headlines for months.
“Ultimately it hopes to inspire listeners to stop paying attention to the naysayers and the constant reminders that we’re not good enough and instead to chase those crazy life goals to no end. This song is OG running to the rooftops and shouting loud and clear that time is our greatest commodity and we shouldn’t waste a bloody second of it.”
Bassist Twiggy Hunter had this to add:
“Dream was written to empower the listener and instil a sense of don’t-give-a-fuck-ery with a bold, glistening undertone of optimism and hope. We hope listeners can use this song as a form of lifeblood to not give up hope through the times ahead and go on to prosper and thrive in their own individualism.”
Smrtdeath, born Mike Skwark, has announced his new album ‘Somethjings Wrong’ due out November 20 via Epitaph. Today, Smrtdeath shares his latest single from the forthcoming record. ‘Don’t Love Me’ epitomizes what Skwark does best, making anthems out of the everyday. With an incredibly catchy, and powerful chorus, the song transcends the underground alternative rap scene and makes it an infectious earworm.
“’Don’t Love Me’ is about wanting someone you can’t have,” explains Skwark. “Kind of like meeting someone at the wrong time, or when you’re too focused on yourself to have time to pursue a connection anywhere else. It’s also about the misguided feelings people can have about someone based on a fleeting connection.”
Smrtdeath has never been easily defined incorporating hip-hop, emo, trap, alternative rock, and a pleasingly warped take on pop into his deeply sincere and catchy songs while frequently collaborating with artists across the entire musical spectrum. Skwark’s genre-agnostic approach to music allows him to successfully touch upon themes of vulnerability, addiction, and heartache within his lyrics. Through getting to know all versions of himself, Skwark has produced a deeply honest collection of songs.
And lastly this week we have the Symphonic metal giants Within Temptation have released a new single called ‘The Purge’, their second release of 2020 following their previous single, ‘Entertain You’.
This is what frontwoman Sharon Den Adel had to say of ‘The Purge’.
“‘The Purge’ revolves around self-reflection and a search for redemption. No one gets through life without scars or without inflicting them on others and there will always be moments in your life you start questioning your choices. You start realising you’ve made mistakes, causing harm to not only others but also to yourself. To confess, to acknowledge and to accept these mistakes, can be a very painful process – however, unescapable when the burden becomes too heavy.”
You can stream and listen to ‘The Purge’ below.
And that’s it for another week of a roundup of the best new tracks out in the world in the last week. Be sure to check back next-time for another round of great music videos. If you have any suggestions for me to check out, be sure to send an email or message us via the socials on Facebook or Twitter!
The giant Dutch metallers Within Temptation are following up to their single, ‘Entertain You’ with their latest effort in ‘The Purge’.
The track is set to debut on November 20th 2020 with Vocalist Sharon Den Adel saying: “revolves around self-reflection and a search for redemption”.
“No-one gets through life without scars or without inflicting them on others and there will always be moments in your life you start questioning your choices,” she says. “You start realising you’ve made mistakes, causing harm to not only others but also to yourself. To confess, to acknowledge and to accept these mistakes, can be a very painful process – however, unescapable when the burden becomes too heavy.”

It’s not been long since Within Temptation released their latest single, ‘Entertain You’ but recently, the band have said new music could be on the way soon.
In an interview with Anne Erickson of Audio Ink Radio, Sharon Den Adel (Vocals) was asked if the band plan to release anything new before the coronavirus pandemic is over where she responded:
“I think so. That’s our plan, anyway. We’ve only recorded two songs and have a lot of of the demos, which are very far, so we can finish them quite quickly.”
She continues: “We’re going to start with that and make those demos real songs, and eventually next year, we’re going to release a few new songs again. Eventually there will be a new album, but the album isn’t complete yet, so we have to start writing some extra new songs to make the album complete.”
FIngers crossed when that Co-Headlining tour with Evanescence happens, we can hear some of this!
You can listen to the full interview with Anne and Sharon below.
We’re back for another week! We have another roundup of ten music videos which have been recently released and they’re always some of my favourites! They’re not all within the same genre and they’re all different in some way or another but that means that there’s a little something for everyone here but enough talk, let’s get down to things.
First up this week we have KOU. This is a new project from Jon Wilkes (Ex- The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus) who released the video ‘Burn’, which exclusively premiered though Punktastic.
Wilkes started KOU in 2009 where the first single was released just back in 2018. In addition to this, KOU is an acronym which stands for ‘Kingdom Of Us’.
“The idea of running a (KOU)coup in defense of our livelihood as humans and anything that holds us back. It’s about following your dreams no matter the cost”-KOU
Wallflower have their upcoming debut record, ‘Teach Yourself To Swim’ set to be released on June 5th 2020.
The latest cut from their release comes in the form of ‘Further Down.
Vini Moreira-Yeoell comments:
“Everything that happens on this track is a perfect combination of everything this record is about and, ultimately, what this band is about. The lyrics to this song contain the album’s title ‘Teach Yourself To Swim’. In the context of the track, it could mean one thing but when you take those words and say them out loud they start to take their own form and we all felt the phrase represented the album perfectly. One of the biggest things we hope people take away from this album is that none of us claim to have any answers to the questions being asked by the songs on the record. It’s about conversation and discourse and figuring out a little bit more about our own traits – both positive and negative. Sometimes it all gets a little overwhelming, that’s what this song is about.”
We move to something a little more crazy in the form of In Hearts Wake. They have a new release for ‘Hellbringer’.
It’s a pretty mental video where you have Polaris’s Jamie Hails turn into a werewolf as well as blood raining down on everyone.
On the track Jake Taylor (vocals) said:
“At some of our American shows extremist groups have picketed outside, telling our fans that they’re ‘going to hell’. If only they knew just how positive the energy inside the venue was! Never judge a book by it’s cover. So rather than fight hate with hate, we decided to have some fun and lean into the metal stereotype.
In 2020 with live streams becoming the new norm, we decided to stage our own hell-bent circus. We thought it would be funny to ask Jamie to dress up as a werewolf, turn me into a vampire and rain blood on the entire band. Guess Halloween came early this year. Thank you Blade.”
The track is off their upcoming release, ‘Kaliyuga’ which is set to be released on August 7th via UNFD.
Let’s keep the genre of the weird and wonderful going. Creeper have added to their upcoming, ‘Sex, Death & The Infinite Void’. The latest cut is ‘All My Friends’, which was filmed remotely and put together by non other than Oll Appleyard (Static Dress).
Moving into the singer / songwriter category now we have A.A. Williams who has dropped a video for ‘Melt’. This is taken off her debut full length record, ‘Forever Blue’.
Next up, we have I Prevail, whom have something truly in their style. They pull no punches where the band address some of the issues taking place right now and there’s a guest on this version of the track where rapper Joyner Lucas lends his vocals to a verse!
We do have to warn viewers here that the video contains scenes which some may find distressing, so please watch with caution!
Time for a fan video! A few weeks ago, The Word Alive revealed that they needed their fans to “Sing along, play instruments, air guitar and more” to help them make a video for their song ‘Thank You’.
And this is what the result has come to! It’s an inspiring video which showcases the fanbase and helps bring people together.
Anyone for a Dutch track? Heavy metal heavyweights Within Temptation have premiered a new video with Kerrang. ‘Entertain You’ is a standalone single which is the first new cut of material since their 2019 record, ‘Resist’.
On the track, the bands vocalist Sharon Den Adel has said:
“The best way to explain the lyrics is to see how we treat a certain groups of people that don’t fit in our society,” begins Sharon. “[There is] a need to emphasise that they do not fit in so we can feel good about ourselves. We’re singling them out, cornering them in all sorts of ways – think of videos of fights in the streets, filming an incident instead of helping someone. They’re not here for our entertainment. It’s a problem that has always been a part of society and it will always be there, unfortunately. So this subject is never old, but it’s something we need to keep talking about so it doesn’t get accepted as normal behaviour.”
This is a new one. Crown The Empire, in addition to releasing a video for ‘BLURRY’, have also launched an AR (Augmented Reality) hologram experience via JADU, an app that “allows fans to enjoy the unique experience of performing with their favourite artists by choosing from a library of photorealistic holograms of different musicians.”
The band adds:
“Hello, it’s been a while since we’ve last spoken. As you may know, our world is in a state of isolation and confusion. The future is unknown and we’re all uncertain of what’s to come. With that being said, we wanted to release something special to get you through these dark times — a song about feeling lost when it seems like all hope is gone.
“We are excited that the official music video for our song ‘BLURRY (out of place)’ is out now.
“Andy Leo has been turned into a hologram, and you can bring him to life wherever you are in the world.
“Download the app, choose the hologram of Andy, scan your surroundings, and he will appear in front of you. Film videos of you and Andy singing/dancing to ‘BLURRY’ together and post them on all your socials. We hope you enjoy this interactive experience as well as the new music video. Stay safe out there.”
And lastly, we turn to what is a hilarious and amazing video, and the fact Megan Fox is in this is just a plus. This is Machine Gun Kelly with his latest track, ‘Bloody Valentine’, off his upcoming ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ record.
Fox force feeds MGK during the video as well as tying him up amongst other things. You have to see it to believe it.
And that’s it for another week of the music video roundup! Be sure to check back next week for another look at the latest music video releases from the best bands around and who knows? Maybe you’ll find your new favourite band on that list.
Hello everyone and welcome back! It’s time for another week of the best singles that have recently been released, all in good order of epicness. I’ve tried to make sure that none of these overlap with the Music Videos Roundup post which should have gone live in addition to this post as well so when you’re done be sure to head over to have a read of that!
Let’s get started
First up this week we have the South Coast UK Pop-Punkers The Bottom Line who’ve shared their new track, ‘Youth’ which brings an end to the band’s ‘No Vacation’ era.
On the track, Cal Amies, the band’s frontman has said:
“‘Youth’ is a song I wrote a long time ago, it’s about the realisation that I ruined a lot of my younger years as a kid due to letting things get to me way too easily. I was a moody teenager and it wasn’t until later in life I realised… the idea of swearing this much in a song wasn’t really intentional, in fact I never really find that dropping the F-bomb adds much effect. When I ghosted the lyrics for ‘Youth’ it just kind of came out like this due to frustration but I think it really portrays the meaning well as a result so we kept it. This was the last song we recorded with Romesh (Dodangoda) at Longwave Studios on the ‘No Vacation’ session. It was actually due to be the last track on the record but we decided it didn’t flow with the rest of the album, so we left it as a stand-alone track. This is the last track we will be releasing from the ‘No Vacation’ cycle, I’m excited for what’s to come next!”
Keeping things British for another track, we have alternative troupe The Hunna with ‘Dark Times’, which is the latest single off their upcoming record, ‘I’d Rather Die Than Let You’.
On the message of the track which is becoming quite relevant in the current times, the band have said:
“This song is about feeling overwhelmed with the dark and evil acts that we hear about & experience all over the world. It’s about feeling bewildered and helpless in these moments, ever more so now in these current times facing a force we never have before, having to self-isolate without connection to family and loved ones, and although feeling alone or helpless, finding power and resilience together as the world unites to survive and wait for the light that will come.”
Now moving into the heavy side of things, we have the hard-hitting and very enjoyable debut track from the side project of Employed to Serve and Renounced, Glorious. ‘Unashamed’ is the track in question which is off their upcoming debut EP of the same name. I can see the pits coming alive right now.
Heading into Veil Of Maya now with their ranging track, ‘Outsider’, which is expected to feature on their follow up record to their 2017 effort, ‘False Idol’ in a trippy and dizzy new video.
And lastly, on this weeks singles list we have the ever so graceful, Within Temptation. This is just a year on from their record, ‘Resist’ and their brand new track, ‘Entertain You’ was released today!
On the track vocalist Sharon Den Adel has said:
“Both in the music industry and the world around us, we see so many things changing and that inspires us creatively. We have always been a band that embraces change and this song shows that more than ever, both musically and lyric-wise. For many of our fans, the song will be a shocker.”
In addition the timing of ‘Entertain You’ is massive, with the bands co-headlining tour with Evanescence set to happen in September 2020, fans can expect to hear some new music and enjoy it even more!
And that’s it for another week of a countdown of the best singles out in the world in the last week. Be sure to check back next week for another round of great singles. If you have any suggestions for me to check out, be sure to send an email or message us via the socials on Facebook or Twitter!
