Written By Wolves Release Linkin Park Tribute

New Zealand’s highest streaming rock band, Written By Wolves, have released a version of Linkin Park’s ‘Papercut’ as a gift for fans this holiday season.

Vocalist Michael Murphy says of the track, “‘Without Linkin Park there is every chance that Written By Wolves would not exist. They paved the way for our band and for many others like ours and were pioneers of a whole new sound. We have talked for a long time about recording a tribute to Linkin Park – especially since the tragic loss of Chester. With all that has happened in the last 2 years we figured now was the time – a last minute holiday gift to our fans to end 2021…’

The band’s latest EP, The Collab Project, released earlier this year, is a collection of re-imagined collaborations of tracks from their debut album ‘Secrets’. Sonny Sandoval (P.O.D.), Trenton Woodley (Hands Like Houses), Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), and others collaborated on tracks for the EP. Written By Wolves Release Epic Love Song, ‘Forever & Always’ Feat. Becks

New Zealand’s highest streaming rock band, Written By Wolves, have released an epic love song ‘Forever & Always’ feat. Becks, alongside a music video

‘Forever & Always’ addresses the question, “No matter what you are going through, no matter what is happening, if the world was about to end, who would you want to be with?” according to frontman Michael Murphy. He continues,“This is made extra special for me as Becks is my wife. The song is written about her so to have her singing on it is a bit of a dream come true. With everything that has happened in the last year and half, the sentiment of this song feels even more fitting now.”

The new EP is a collection of re-imagined collaborations of tracks from the band’s debut album ‘Secrets‘, released in late 2019. In addition to Becks, Trenton Woodley (Hands Like Houses)Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens), and others have collaborated on tracks for the EP.

Michael Murphy explains that “The Collab Project is an on-going initiative to try and spread awareness, and to remind our fans and our followers, that no matter what they are going through, no matter what mental health struggles or demons they are going through right now, they don’t have to do it alone and they don’t have to deal with it on their own.” He adds, “The aim is to help normalise talking about our mental health issues and to help to breakdown the stigma attached to mental health.” Watch the band’s video explanation of The Collab Project here.

Written By Wolves Release New Track Featuring Killin Quinn, ‘Help Me Through The Night’

New Zealand’s highest streaming rock band, Written By Wolves, have released a re-imagined version of their track ‘Help Me Through The Night’, featuring guest vocals from Sleeping With Sirens’ frontman Kellin Quinn.

‘Help Me Through The Night’ originally featured on the band’s 13-track debut album ‘Secrets’ released in late 2019. The song questions the role of fate in the dark times. “People often talk about fate in the good times but not so much when things go wrong. It is about questioning your place in the world and hoping that the struggles you are going through in life aren’t ‘meant to be’. However, the underlying message in this song is hope. Hope that what you are going through is not preordained and is within your control to change,” says Written By Wolves vocalist Michael Murphy.

He adds, “Working with Kellin has elevated this track beyond anything we had ever imagined – hearing someone of his calibre, who we respect immensely, singing one of our songs has been nothing short of a dream come true. When we sent him the track, he came back to us straight away to let us know how excited he was to be involved. He said he would have it back to us by the end of the week but he actually finished it that night!”
