New Found Glory Announce Show To Raise Money For Victims Of The Victims Of The MSD High School Shooting

These are legends right here.

New Found Glory have announced the details of a benefit show to help raise money for the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

Joining them will be Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional and Ryan Key of Yellowcard.

All profits of the show are going toward the Broward Education Foundation Stoneman Douglas Fund.

“The members of New Found Glory would like to start by saying this is a statement that we wish we never had to write in the first place. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot imagine the pain the victim’s families, friends, students, teachers, and anyone else impacted by the recent tragedy at MSD must be feeling. While we feel there are no words that we can say or do to fix this in any way, we wish to let you know that our hearts are heavy with the pain that this event has caused to so many.

We want to stress that the most important part of the grieving process is to focus on the healing of those affected by this senseless act. As some of you may or may not know, half of our band went to MSD so it is important to us that we do as much as we possibly can to help the school and families of the victims. They deserve our love, support, and help, and we will help in any way we can. We have decided that, in an effort to help raise funds for those impacted by the events at MSD and to honor the victims and heroes, NFG will be playing a benefit show at Pompano Beach Amphitheater on May 16th.

Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 5 at 10am ET. Also joining us will be Chris Carrabba (Dashboard Confessional) and Ryan Key (formerly of Yellowcard). All proceeds from the show will be donated to the official Broward Education Foundation Stoneman Douglas Fund gofundme.com/stonemandouglasfund who provide relief to those affected by this tragedy.

In addition to the show, we are releasing a MSD inspired t-shirt, available on our web store (newfoundglorystuff.com), with all the profits also going towards the Broward Education Foundation Stoneman Douglas Fund.

We are, and always will be, proud to be part of the Coral Springs/Parkland community. We love you all, and together we will get through this, one day at a time. #parklandstrong”

Yellowcard Say Goodbye In Their Last Ever Music Video

Yellowcard have officially ended their career as a band now. But before they do, they’ve said an emotional goodbye in their last ever music video.

The band have said, ‘This song was inspired and written for you,’.

The tweet above contains the music video but here is the link below.

Goodbye Yellowcard, you’ll always have a special place in our hearts.

Aersosmith, Yellowcard call it a day

Well.. I never expected this news today. Not one but two bands have decided to call it a day.

Firstly Aerosmith, who have spent over forty years together are going on one last tour next year before calling it a day.

Steven Tyler confirmed this news on Howard Stern’s radio show stating “We’re doing a farewell tour, but only because it’s time.”

I can see where he’s coming from because of the sheer length of time the group have been together but the accomplishments that Aerosmith achieved in just under half a century will never be forgotten by their fans. Who knows though? They could always come back, Kiss said they would pack it in, but they’re still going strong, tour after tour. Bowling for Soup told the UK they’d never return and less than two years later they did. the point being, nobody knows what the future will hold.

Coming to Yellowcard, two decades in who knew they’d still be here? Two decades in, who knows if any band will still be together right? I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to see the band grow and evolve and hopeful that they continue to make music wherever their lives take them.

They’ll be around the UK in December to say goodbye to us Brits, see you then Yellowcard for the last time.

Here’s the band’s full statement:

“Putting this into words hasn’t been easy. When saying farewell, it is hard to know where to start, especially when there are so many reasons not to say it, but the time has come to share this news. After countless discussions and months of thought, we have decided that it is time for Yellowcard to come to an end. This will be our last album and our final world tour.

“The decision was an incredibly difficult one for us to make. We considered so many things – our families, our health, our future endeavors. In the end we realized that this was the right time to step away and preserve the legacy and integrity of the band. It is with you, the fans in mind, that this decision was made. We wanted to have the chance to share our farewell with as many fans around the world as we could, and now is the right time to do just that.

“We went into this record knowing it would be the last, which is why we chose to have Ryan Key and Ryan Mendez produce it. The motivation behind this was to make sure these songs came from a place that was deeply rooted in us. We wanted to push ourselves to create a lasting finale for this incredible story on our own. It is also why we chose to self-title the album. We were lucky to still have our friend and mentor, Neal Avron, on board as Executive Producer and mixer and we’ve made one of the strongest records of our career and a fitting final creative piece.

“Once this final chapter for Yellowcard comes to a close, we will all be heading in new directions in our lives, but these memories will never leave us. We can only hope that the memories we have made together with you will stay in your hearts as well. You have stood by us through all of the highs and lows on this unbelievable journey.

“We will be forever grateful to Yellowcard fans all over the world for the opportunities you have given us. We have played shows for nearly two decades on six continents, and had the chance to keep recording the music we love year after year. While it is with sadness that we say goodbye, it is with gratitude and amazement that we look back on a career we can be proud of, and were so very lucky to have had.”

“Please come and join us on our last trip around the globe. We hope to share this final record and tour with each and every one of you.

“I won’t be with you, but I won’t be far away and this is goodbye.”

-Ryan, Sean, Ryan, and Josh”
