Check Out Yungblud’s Trailer For ‘Mars’

YUNGBLUD’s upcoming short film based on his song ‘mars’ now has a premiere date.

‘MARS’ will be shown for the first time digitally on November 17, during Trans Awareness Week..

It will feature an introduction from Dom and star Yasmin Finney and will be hosted by GLAAD.

YUNGBLUD had the following to say about it:

“I’m so honoured to present you our beautiful film MARS. I believe this is the start of something truly groundbreaking and truly special. This all came from the idea that we could facilitate bringing characters to life by assembling a team of cast and crew that fully represent the communities whose stories we wanted to tell. We set out to bring talented creatives together, some experienced, some whose star was already rising and some who’d never been on a film set before.

Giving people a platform to tell their stories with truth and integrity means so much to me, and I feel that’s what we’ve achieved with this film. The love and friendship and warmth I felt being around this beautiful team was a hugely powerful experience, and I truly feel gives a little glimpse into the lives of young people.”

Check Out Yungblud’s Video For The Track ‘Tissues’

YUNGBLUD dropped his latest record, the self titled YUNGBLUD today and there’s a little added extra surprise for fans!

That comes in the form of the video for the brilliant, ‘Tissues’

Dom had this to say about it:

“This is a new era for YUNGBLUD, I wanted to dance, I wanted to move, and I wanted to really personify in the video what this song means. It’s happiness and it’s euphoria and it’s letting the fuck go.”

Yungblud Releases New Track, ‘Tissues’

It’s a full circle moment for Yungblud as ahead of the new record, he’s dropped a taster track in the form of ‘Tissues’

And why is it a full circle moment? Well because it samples the classic track ‘Close To Me’ by The Cure, a long-standing influence on Dom, so it feels like a real full circle moment in lots of different ways.

Have a listen below:

YUNGBLUD’s latest track ‘The Funeral’ is finally here, and it is an anthem to say the least

And here are some of Dom’s own musings on it:

“I’d spent a lot of time in the last 18 months grappling with who I really want to be. I’ve honestly just felt like a bit of a hypocrite lately. I’d spent the past 4 years telling people to be unapologetically themselves and to not care about what others think and realized that was something I needed to tell myself. I felt a lot of pressure, a lot of insecurity, a lot of questioning myself. But then I wrote this song and it distilled for me what this next phase in my life, not just my career, was gonna be about. The lyrics are literally me listing off everything I’m insecure about because if you identify with what you don’t like about yourself and own it, no one can say anything that you haven’t already said to yourself. You become bulletproof. This song’s about owning those insecurities and just being fucking fearless. It’s about ego, death, rebirth and fucking dancing on your grave. Inviting everyone to join you, but if you’re on your own and you’re the only one dancing – that’s fine too. for this new music, i looked at myself in the mirror and said “you ain’t gonna be around forever, how do you want to be remembered? and if you were hit by a car tomorrow and you could sing one more thing before you become worm food, would this song be it? Truly, the answer is yes. I would take this to my grave.”

But in addition, the video has some music royalty in the form of The Prince Of Darkness himself Ozzy Osbourne himself as well as his wife Sharon Osbourne.

Ozzy and Sharon make an appearance throughout a clip that finds Dom either laid in his casket or driving as fast as he can to make it watch himself on stage.

Yungblud Creating New Short Film Inspired By The Track, ‘Mars’

Yungblud has announced that he is teaming up with Mercury Studios & Interscope Films in order to create a short film based on his track, ‘Mars’.

The film which is initially inspired by a conversation with a fan in Maryland says the film will follow a day in the life of a character called Charlie Acaster who all they have “ever wanted is a normal teenage existence – at least that’s what she thinks. Now one extraordinary night will make her reassess what truly matters.”

Dom had this to say about the story:

“This story is an uncensored, unfiltered portrayal of youth. It revels in the fragile beauty of it, flirts with the pain of it and most importantly the undeniable, glimmering hope of it. It presents a generational shift towards acceptance of one’s self and others, and ever growing confidence in our own insecurities.”

The screenplay for the film has been written by Chris Bush and will be directed by Abel Rubinstein. It will be produced by Dom alongside Cat Marshall, and Stefan Demetriou. They are also committed to securing on and off-screen talent from the trans, non-binary and wider LGBTQ+ community for the project as well. It’s being aimed to be released in the Spring of next year.

He adds:

“I cannot wait to make my first film. This whole journey started with an encounter. Then it became a song, now it’s becoming a movie. All my art is about and forever will be about, is making people feel like they can be undeniably themselves, whoever they are – and with this project we’re turning that message up to 11.

“The team we’ve assembled is incredible, I am so honoured to stand with them all behind this beautiful project and to have them help me bring it to life. I can honestly say if you don’t adore this movie, then I can guarantee you’ll fucking learn something from it.

‘You’ll see our stars and touch our scars, only when Mars doesn’t have to wait!’”

And Chris Bush had this to say about being involved:

“Mars is a story where the mundane and the magical sit side by side. It’s Space Age escapism shot through with Northern grit. More than anything I hope it’s honest. I’m hugely proud to be working with YUNGBLUD, and the fantastic creative team we’ve assembled. The queer kids are alright.”

And the track it’s based on? Check it out below.

Yungblud Shares Latest Single, ‘Fleabag’

Yungblud has shared his latest single, ‘Fleabag’.

The track is the first tastes of new music since the release of his latest album ‘weird!’, released at the end of last year, and sees him push back against people trying to tell him how to express himself.

“I wrote ‘fleabag’ in a really dark time of my life, when a lot of people around me had an expectation about what I should be,” he explains. “To tell you the truth it’s about being fucking gutted about people judging me and trying to tear me down. I felt so alienated, I felt so alone.

“When everybody else has an expectation of what you should be or have their own version of your truth it messes with your brain because you start to think ‘maybe they’re right, maybe they do know what’s best for me, maybe I should change who I am,’ but ultimately I believe to my core – it’s the foundation I built my whole ideology around, that self-expression and the right to be unconditionally yourself is the best thing you can be. Nobody should determine how you express yourself except YOU. You are brilliant, you are beautiful, you are individual just by breathing.

“This song is a kick back. A kick back against the world, a kick back against my friends, against my family and some of my fanbase. I am who I am, all I want to do is spread love and lead with my heart. I’ve always told people to be themselves, sometimes I have to remember that message myself.”
